Everyone stared at the bodies on the floor. Minwoo was gone. He was gone. Everyone knew that. He didn’t breathe, and he had turned cold and white in a blink of an eye. Hyesung knew. Hyesung was silent. His sobs were quiet. He was crying, but not loudly. He was holding the cold hand of the man with a big hole in the chest.

The silence was palpable. Andy’s powers were shutting down. He was returning to his original form. Dongwan and Eric stared at him, Junjin and Minwoo in turns. The queen had woken up from her slumber after hearing loud noises from the chamber. She was big. Very big. And she was speechless.

“What happened…?” She questioned after seeing two bodies on the ground.

Andy breathed fast when his eyes set to Junjin. Tears were forming in his eyes. He was about to burst into tears in front of his wife, when Junjin made a sound: a groan. He groaned. Dongwan, who had been upset that he couldn’t bid his son farewell, jumped. He ran to his son and turned him onto his back.

Junjin wasn’t awake, but he wasn’t dead either. He was alive.

“Is he…?” Eric asked.

Dongwan nodded. “Alive, and well,” he smiled. “He is alive.” he kneeled next to the body. “And no sign of the curse anywhere.”

Junjin had lost an arm and that arm had now disappeared like a dust to the wind. “Jeehoon’s curse is gone.” Dongwan mumbled. “All Andy had to do was to get rid of the cursed arm.”

Andy had run to the body right when Dongwan had told him Junjin was alive. He grabbed the uncursed arm and kissed the palm. “Will he be okay…?” he interrogated quietly. Dongwan nodded. “We should put him on the bed. Let him rest.” The king spoke eloquently. Then he noticed his queen. She looked surprised. “Misun…” Andy whispered. “I…”

She said nothing, and Andy couldn’t continue.

Eric had moved next to Hyesung and placed his hand onto the shoulder of the . Hyesung was quiet: didn’t say a word. “Let’s move him, shall we?” Eric murmured to the younger man. “He was a good soldier.”

Hyesung burst into loud tears and turned to Eric. He wrapped his arms around the man and hugged him tightly. Eric, obviously surprised, embraced him as well. “We will give him a marvellous funeral.” Dongwan said. “That’s what he deserves.”

Hyesung sobbed. “I didn’t even get to tell him that I love him too,” he cried. “He will never know.”

“He knows,” Eric promised. “I’m sure.”

Andy helped Dongwan carry Junjin to the bedroom, while Eric and few soldiers took Minwoo to someplace else. Hyesung followed slowly, still crying. Andy knew he needed to be by his ’s side. Words were pointless. Nothing would bring him back. Not even magic.

“My king,” Misun spoke suddenly.

Andy sighed. “Let’s not talk about it now.” he begged. “I can’t.”

“Yes, my king,” Misun bowed her head.

Dongwan guessed that Junjin was going to be bedridden for a while. No one knew how long a magic coma would last. Jeehoon was powerful. It could be ages. Andy spent every moment next to the man’s bed. Junjin kept groaning. Even without his arm, he was in pain. Andy put a cold rag on the forehead and wiped of the sweat. Junjin had had a high fever for days.

“I love you…” Andy whispered, while holding the hand. “Don’t leave me…” he pleaded. Junjin groaned, as if he could hear Andy. “I love you.”

He leaned in to kiss the lips. So long he had yearned for those lips. “I regret the things I said…I regret it.” he murmured. “I hate myself…because of me Minwoo is dead…” Andy’s eyes turned glossy. He was going to cry. “If I had not done what I did, Minwoo wouldn’t be dead.”

The floorboards creaked and Andy turned to look over his shoulder. Hyesung stood at the doorway. He was expressionless. Minwoo had not been buried yet, but Dongwan was planning a proper send-off to the man. Hyesung remained silent even when he advanced the king and the bodyguard and sat down to the closest seat to him. Andy sniffled as his eyes were at Hyesung.

“I’m so sorry,” The king cried.

Hyesung looked at Junjin. Stared at him. Glared at him almost. Andy felt as if Hyesung was angry at Junjin; like it was Junjin’s fault that Minwoo was dead. Hyesung kept staring. The sliced arm. The purple mark was gone. The mark had been Jeehoon’s mark. It had been one of the reasons why Junjin had been possessed.

“I want you to know that Minwoo didn’t die in vain.” Andy spoke. “He did amazingly. He earns a medal.”

“What does that matter?” Hyesung snapped. “He is dead. He won’t even know he gets a medal. He is dead. He won’t come back and it’s all your and Chungjae’s fault!” the screamed. “I can’t get Minwoo back. There is no magic powerful enough to get him back!”

Andy listened. He remained silent and listened.
