Chapter 18
King's bodyguardIt's been a while since I last updated and I am so sorry, but I felt like I couldn't really better the previous chapter and I also kinda wasn't ready to do what happens in this chapter, anyway, I hope you enjoy!
“Junjin?” Andy heard the whisper. He stood up fast, and ran to the window. A smile appeared to his face as he saw the handsome bodyguard at the entrance of the castle. “It is him!” he was showing his excitement bravely and was about to run out of the chamber, when priest Kim grabbed his wrist. “It’s your son, priest Kim.” Andy murmured.
Dongwan didn’t have to say anything for Andy to understand. The man downstairs wasn’t his son. Dongwan felt ache in his chest. Darkness had taken his son. It wasn’t Junjin. Junjin was no longer present. The black magic had removed any shed of that man. Dongwan weakened in the eyes of the king. He lost his balance. Jeehoon had gotten his son.
“Dongwan,” Eric came through a secret door, and almost shoved Andy out of the way. “Dongwan ah…” Assistant Mun crooned. “I…I…Your son…”
Dongwan looked into the eyes of the handsome man and smiled brokenly. “He is not my son.” Andy felt an ache in his chest. He was afraid. Dongwan couldn’t feel Junjin’s presence anymore, and neither could Andy. He tried…very hard, but Junjin was gone. There wasn’t even sliver of a feeling that it was Junjin. He had been possessed, removed. Andy felt tears in his eyes. Seeing Dongwan so broken, feeling Eric’s worry. Andy had never loved anyone like he had loved Junjin.
In a blink of an eye, Andy felt something furious growing inside. He was panting, his eyes turned colour, and he began screaming. His fingers moved strangely, and a golden ball began forming between the palms. Dongwan and Eric halted what they had been doing, and gawked at their king in surprise. Andy’s eyes turned golden, and a magical wind surrounded him. The ball grew bigger and bigger.
“What is this?” Eric asked shocked. He looked at Dongwan.
“He…he is…he did it.” Dongwan’s lips were curving, showing that he could still smile. “He is angry. I can feel it. He is…he is furious. He is so strong.” Eric moved the priest behind him, fearing that Andy couldn’t control himself. Eric knew nothing about magic, but he could feel the strength that oozed from the king. “He is hurting…” Dongwan murmured.
“Junjin…” Eric mumbled.
“What?” Dongwan frowned.
“He can feel that Junjin is…gone,” the assistant explained. “You know what I’m talking about. I know you know. I know you felt it. I know you are smart. You know, Dongwan.” he grabbed a hold on the priest’s hands. “Junjin is Andy’s true love.”
The sirens rang around the hallways of the castle. Hyesung looked around in shock, and then turned his gaze at Minwoo. The worry was palpable. Minwoo was needed. Someone was attacking the castle. It was reality. Hyesung furrowed his eyebrows. He didn’t want Minwoo to go. He didn’t want him to walk away from him. He couldn’t let him go.
