After the 3 minutes were up, Kai went back to his paper. I walked over to a bookshelf and picked up a random book to read. Well, try to read. Some love story called Romeo & Juliet. It was good for what I could understand but I ended up falling asleep by the fire. When I woke up, I looked over at Kai still hard at work. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 1 AM. I watched as he yawned and I couldn’t help but notice how cute he was when he was tired. I walked up behind him and started massaging his shoulders.

“Not now baby. I’m almost done.” He said with another cute yawn.

“How much longer do you have?” I whispered into his ear before kissing his cheek.

“Only 5 more sentences.” He said looking back at his book.

“Then you write. I massage.” I said continuing my massage. 

Within a few minutes, he finished his essay and closed his book. “All done.” He said yawning once more. 

“You worked so hard.” I said massaging his neck. “Time for you to get some rest.” 

“I could just stay here and you could just massage me forever.” He said laying his head on the table.

I chuckled and massaged his lower back. “You really have a lot of tension. You could do with a real massage."

"You're hired." He said happily. I simply laughed and continued for a few more minutes letting him relax. When I stopped, he seemed to be asleep.

"Honey. Sweetheart. Kai." I said trying to wake him up softly. He barely opened his eyes and I got him to move to the couch. He laid down and immediately went to sleep. I got him a blanket and a pillow. I then covered him up before making my own place on the ground. "Goodnight Kaikai." I said before falling asleep.

I was awakened by the sunlight pouring in through the window. I looked up on the couch expecting to see Kai and I was shocked when I did not. I bolted up from my spot and looked around. And there he was laying on the ground beside me. I don't know how he got there. "Kai, sweetheart, wake up." I said kissing him.

His royal cuteness stretched said, "Is it time to get up already?" 

"Yes it is. Now do you want to tell me what you're doing here on the floor?" I asked. 

"I woke up and you were on the floor. So I decided to join you." He said as he grabbed my by the waist. He pulled me close to him and tried to go back to sleep.

"Kai, why don't you go upstairs to your bed? We still have a few hours before we leave. You can get a comfortable nap." I said with concern. 

"I am comfortable!" He protested. 

"Bedtime. Your room. Go." I said getting up. 

Sleepily, he stood up. I expected him to walk through the door and go to his room, but he picked me up instead. He carried me to his room and laid me on the bed. He covered me with a blanket and crawled inside of his own. He placed an arm around me and kissed me on the cheek. "Bedtime. My room." He said with a smile. 

"Fine." I said rolling my eyes. I cuddled up next to him and fell asleep.

I woke up later on to a sweet kiss being placed on my lips. "Good morning beautiful. Did you enjoy your nap?" Kai asked. I nodded and he leaned down and kissed me once more. "Good. So did I." He said with a smile that melted me. "The sooner we get up, The sooner we can go." He said. 

I cuddled up close to him and said. "The later we get up, The longer I can stay in your arms." 

"Baby we can stay here all day." He said kissing my forehead. 

I sighed. We needed to go. I looked up into his eyes. "Can we do this again?" I asked pleadingly. 

"Of course we can angel." He said kissing my nose. 

"Then I'll go get ready." I said smiling at him. I stood up to leave but was pulled back onto the bed. "Kai what are you?" I was cut off by his lips pressing up against mine. I knew better than to try to resist him. "What was that for?" I said with a giggle.

"For being gorgeous." He said as I giggled again. "And for almost being mine." He said with a whisper. 

I kissed him and said, "That ball is in your court." 

"I know. I know." He said. "I just still can't believe I'm this lucky."

"Lucky?" I asked. 

"I just kissed the most amazing girl in the world. I call that pretty lucky." He said with a smirk.

"I call it fate." I said kissing him lightly. "Are you sure it doesn't bother you though?"

"That what doesn't bother me ?" He asked turning his head to the side. 

"Me being a peasant. You're a prince. Everyone knows that princes should be with-" I started.

"The woman they love." He said finishing my sentence. "And I am most definitely with the woman I love." He said hugging me. 

"You fell pretty hard for me didn't you?" I asked with a laugh.

"I didn't know love at first sight was possible. Then I saw you." He said. "At that moment, I didn't care about anything else but meeting you. I had to at least have your name." He said running his hand along my back. "And after I got that, I was yours and you didn't even know it. I came home that day and all I did was think of you."

"I did the same thing." I said with a shy smile.

"And look at us now." He said confidently. "I'm holding you in my arms." 

I kissed him softly and said, "And there's no place I'd rather be."

"I love you Zhang Melody." He said smiling at me.

"I love you Prince Kim Jongin." I said before kissing him once more. 

"Every time you say my name like that my heart skips a beat." He whispered.

"Well honey you're going to have to get used to it." I said hugging him close. "You are my Kim Jongin after all... I hope."

He sighed. "I'm all yours. That's a promise." 

"Good. Now we better get up and go. We have a little girl to surprise." I said kissing his nose. I got up and walked over to the door when I heard him say something that caught me completely off guard. 

"You're going to be an amazing mother." He said propping himself up on one arm. 

Slowly, I turned around. "Thank you." I said blushing hard. 

He got up and walked over to me. "You're very welcome. I'll see you in about half an hour." He said kissing me once more.

I left and walked to my room in a dream like state. Does this mean he'd want kids someday? If he's talking about that, maybe he does want to marry me. But would marrying me make him happy? What if something happened and we got into an awful fight and we divorced and the kids got involved? I arrived at my room and walked in quickly. But what if we both want kids? I could so imagine a little him running around the castle. What if marrying me is all that he needed to make him happy? And what if we got into an awful fight but our love was strong enough to make it? For some reason, a part of me was dying to find out.

The drive to my house went by pretty fast. Kai seemed so excited to tell Layla the big news. When we pulled up to the house, I decided to knock on the door instead of just going in. My mother answered the door.

“Melody! Your highness! What a surprise!” She said with excitement.

Kai bowed and said, “Good morning, Mrs. Zhang.”

I hugged her and told her good morning. She invited us in and we sat down at the kitchen table. Kai asked her to go get Dad and soon my father appeared from the back door where he had been working in the garden. He washed his hands and then shook hands with Kai. “I'm glad you were both here. I'd like to make an announcement.” Kai said smiling. “It's come to my attention that Layla isn't in school and knowing your financial situation and all, I'd like to pay for her schooling entirely. Supplies, clothing, whatever she needs.” Kai announced.

My mother and father looked completely shocked. Their eyes were wide and their mouths were open. My father was the first to speak. “Your highness, we could never ask you to do such a thing.”

Kai shook his head. “You don't have to ask. It's a gift. I've only known you all for a short while but I've really become fond of this family and I absolutely adore Layla. It would be a pleasure.”

“We would have no way to pay you back.” My mother said. 

“I don't want any reimbursement at all. I'm happy just knowing she's getting an education.” Kai said with a smile.

“Your highness - we - I…” My father was finally at a loss for words. 

“You really don't have to keep calling me that, sir.” Kai said slightly embarrassed.

“Thank you Kai.” My mother said giving him a hug with tears in her eyes. My father continuously thanked him and shook his hand again. “Would you like to stay for lunch?” My mother asked. 

Kai looked at me and I nodded. “We'd love to.” Kai said. “But beforehand, I'd like to ask something of you two.” He said directing the question to my parents. 

“Yes?” My mother asked smiling.

“Well… I'm not sure how to put this but I'm going to do my best to try.” Kai said. 

“Go ahead.” My father said with a nod. 

Kai looked at me for reassurance and I looked at him inquisitively. “Alright. I'm not sure if you know or not, but I've fallen deeply in love with your daughter.” Kai said holding my hand on top of the table. My eyes immediately widened and my heart started pounding. “She means the whole world to me.” He said with a smile. I wanted to let go of his hand and run, but I was frozen. “And our relationship hasn't gotten very far, but before we can make this permanent, I'd like your permission to date Melody.” He said nervously. “I promise to take care of her and do my best to keep her happy. I'll do everything I can to keep her from getting hurt. I can't promise that I won't break her heart but I can promise you I'll do my best.” My heart dropped upon hearing him say something to my parents that I've heard before. 

He looked so nervous in front of them but my parents were both smiling. “The fact that you asked us says a lot.” My father said. “You asked but didn't have to. As long as you love her and treat her right, you have my permission.” 

Kai sighed happily and looked toward my mother. “Do you truly love her?” My mother asked. Oh no. My mom couldn't be the one to stand between us. She just couldn't.

“I do. I've never felt this way about someone else.” He said never breaking eye contact. 

“How did you meet?” She asked. 

“It was the day before she came to the castle. We were in a market place. I had come to get away from the castle for awhile. I was just looking around at the merchants when I saw the most beautiful person in the whole world nearby. I simply had to meet her. I followed her to her next stop but she never saw me. She bent down to smell some cookies and I heard the cutest little grumble come from her stomach. I couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was. When our eyes met, I knew this was it. I bought her the cookie and finally heard her beautiful voice. I had to leave as soon as we exchanged names and it killed me. All I could do the rest of the night was think about her. I promised myself I would find her and the next day, she found me.” He said looking at me once he had finished our story. “And now, I can't help but fall more in love with her every day.” He kissed my hand and I couldn't help but smile.

He looked back at my mom hopefully and her face was flat. No emotions whatsoever. He opened his mouth to say something else but she finally spoke. “That was the sweetest thing I have ever heard.” She said finally smiling. “You've had my permission since the moment we met. It's very clear that she is special to you.” She got up to make lunch and he let out a relieved sigh. My father excused himself to go get cleaned up. “So Kai this means you're going to come over more often right?” She asked from the kitchen.

“Yes ma'am. Any time you'd like.” He said happily.

“Good. Believe it or not we are pretty fond of you too.” She said looking back at him. He blushed deeply and I couldn't help but stare at him. “Oh Mel, it's almost time to wake Layla from her nap. Can you wake her soon?” She asked.

“Sure. I need to go talk to Kai first but yeah I'll get her up.” I said. I grabbed Kai's hand and told mom we'd be back. I lead him outside and as soon as we got out the door and out of sight, the first thing I did was kiss him. 

“What was that for?” He asked before I cut him off by kissing him again. He smiled and pulled me in closer before kissing me back. I ran my fingers through his hair making him smile more. “I don't know what I did but remind me to do it again.” He said kissing me harder. 

“Kai… I can't believe you did that.” I said staring up into his beautiful brown eyes. "You're amazing."
