We walk into the public area of the club.  ‘Usually this place is empty,’ I think to myself, but today it is exactly like those clubs you see in the dramas.’ We continue walking.  Maneuvering over crowds of people.  The music is roaring.

“Are you okay?” Kim Hyun Joong asks as he stops.

“Huh?” I reply.

He gets closer. “I said are you okay,”  he asks again.  I can feel his breath as he speaks.  Any closer and our faces would touch.

I pull back a bit before speaking in an almost shouting voice, “Yeah”

“Good,” he says, unseeingly bothered by my actions. 

We begin to walk again. Hand in hand.

…

We finally make it to the bar.  He offers me a stool and I take it.  He stands closely behind me.  I can feel his chest.  He puts his arms on each side of me.  His arms, however, are not directly touching me.

He leans over and speaks into my ear.  “It gets pretty crazy by the bar.  I don’t want anyone causing you any trouble so I am doing this for your protection. “

I look at him before immediately regretting it. ‘He is so close to me.’ I turn my head and look down.

Suddenly I feel his chest harden.  I look up.  A group of people unconsciously began to bump into him as they try to squeeze by.  He sees me noticing what is going on and comments, “this club gets pretty popular.  Don’t worry.  I’ll protect you.”  The people finally walk by.

“Hey!” he shouts as he tries to flag down the bartender. 

The bartender finally comes by.  “How can I help you, sir?”

“You can help me by getting someone to attend to my private room, and while you’re at it, appetizers and soju,” he says.

“Oh?”  the bartender says as he looks down and reads his tablet.  “I am sorry, sir, but the person that usually attends your room is out sick.  I will get someone to take of you as soon as possible.  Do you want the usual?”

“Yeah,” Kim Hyun Joong replies.

“It will be ready soon then,” the bartender announces before leaving.

“Yah!” Kim Hyun Joong shouts.  He looks at me.  “You wanted a drink, right?”

“Oppa, it’s okay.  I really wasn’t all that thirsty.”

“I’ll get him to come back,” he says before raising his hand in attempts to flag down the bartender again.

I reach up and pull his hand down.  “Ani, gwenchana.  I really don’t want anything.  The soju will be good enough.  My real reason for coming is…” I say before stopping myself from continuing.  I begin to look down in utter embarrassment.

“Your reason for coming is what?” he asks.  He then notices my red cheeks.   “Did you want to be alone with me?”

“Ani-yo! I did not!” I exclaim as I shoot up from the stool.

He puts his hands on both sides of my cheeks and tilts my head up.  “I’m getting closer to you, aren’t I?  he asks as he smiles.

I say nothing.

He leans in.  I stiffen and close my eyes.  He tilts my head down and kisses me on the forehead.
