“Don’t do it! Don’t let him hurt you! He isn’t worth it!!”  I say as I unconsciously shake her.  I am in tears.

“Don’t touch me!”  She tells me as she releases herself from my grip.  “I can make my own decisions.”

“But after what I have just told you…and what he did to you…you are still going to give him a second chance?”   I ask.

“Yes, because I love him.”

“MOR RI!!”

I wake up from my slumber and erect myself into a seating position.  Gasping for air.

Vivi is sitting right beside me on my bed.  Her hands are on both sides of my shoulders.  “Sorry for shaking you awake but you were practically screaming in your sleep.” She puts her hands down.

…

I recollect myself.  “What?” I ask.

“You were screaming in your sleep,” she repeats.

“Oh,” I say as I wipe my eyes with the palm of my hands.

….

“…did you dream about…that…again?” she suddenly asks seriously.

“Huh?” I say as I look at her confused.

“…you know…that thing….the thing that happened five years ago…with Danielle…” she explains.

I think to myself.

….

“NO! Definitely not!” I scream. I jump on my feet.

“Wow! Easy! Calm down!” Vivi says as she puts her arms up and pulls me down to sit on the bed.  “You don’t have to over react.”

I take a moment to calm myself down.

“…I haven’t thought of that in a very long time…” I finally confess.

“Well, you haven’t had these kind of nightmares in a very long time too,” Vivi interrupts.  “I remember when they first started.  You would scream every night, and because I am your next door neighbor and our houses were not that far from each other, I could hear you.  Your parents were so worried that at one point they had you on medication. God knows you hate making people worried…. so you went as far as forcing yourself to stay awake as long as you can….which was completely stupid in my opinion.”

“I’m sorry for keeping you up,” I finally say.

“THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE!!” Vivi screams in bewilderment.  She pauses before continuing, “I was so worried about you…we all were…even Danielle…although at that point you guys were not talking”

“I know…” I say in an almost whisper.

“I mean what happened between you and Danielle and Lee Jae Kyung was…”

“DON’T BRING IT UP!!” I exclaim.

Vivi looks at me with utter shock.  “I’m sorry…jeez…”

I take a moment to calm myself down.  I let out a big breath before speaking, “no, I’m sorry.  I just don’t want to be reminded of that time…”

“Well, you are going to have to deal with it eventually,” Vivi sternly says.  “Sure, you don’t ever have to see him again but you need to eventually accept the past.  Or else you will never move on.”

“… I know..” I reluctantly say.

“Besides, although you are very unsure of what is going to come out of this…thing…you have with Kim Hyun Joong.  If you do decide to give him your all, you shouldn’t half- it,” Vivi says.

“Vivi!” I exclaim.

“What?...” she says nonchalantly, “I’m being honest.”
