So Cliché:The Lushness of One's Unibrow:
Maya and I didn’t speak as we walk back home. It’s not because I’m mad at her, well, I am but my thoughts were not exactly about what happened but Mark. Daydreaming 24/7 of him.
I sigh and kick a pebble. We passed the park and I had totally forgotten to keep my eyes out and a bird poop lands on my hair. The white mess was running down my bangs and a drop lands on the tip of my nose. Maya stares at me in pity.
“Don’t you dare point that pouting lip at me!” I bark at her and she quickly faces forward. “Stupid bird!” I scream at the top of my lungs in front of many people.
A little girl holding onto her mother’s hand and with her melting ice cream points at me. “Look mom, isn’t that the troll!”
“Was it a wrong choice to tell you what I thought?” Maya asks.
“Was it a wrong choice that I ask you to take those nose plugs out?” I ask her. She looks at me. “Okay that was a bad choice; I didn’t know you would puke on that baby’s basket.”
“It ate some of it too.” Maya shivers at the memory moments ago. “Look Rose, you really do smell.”
“How?” I lift my arms up and give a sniff at each of my armpits. “It’s just my left armpit that smells.”
Maya stares at me and pulls my arms down. “You really need to shave your armpits too.”
“What? No. I’ve been growing this since last year!” I protested.
“And you’re legs.” She points at my perfect hairs around my legs.
