“Spring Break is next week,” Maya says painting her nails, “are you up for something?”
I hear her talk but I couldn’t care any less to what she speaks about. My head is just burning thinking of that Krystal Jung face laughing with my future husband. More importantly, how could Mark laugh with her?!
I slam my hands on Maya’s desk. She jumps from the shock and throws a pillow at me face rather quick.
“Hey! You just made me messed up my nails.” She glares and smiles back to painting her nails. “Jr. told me you guys were going for ice cream this weekend. Should I be jealous?”
“I wonder if she just moved. Was she already friends with Mark before going here? Does she like Mark?” I ask myself questions, hugging the pillow Maya had thrown at me. “What if, Mark likes her?!” I stood up and threw the pillow to the ground in frustration. “IMPOSSIBLE!” I sat back down. “Mark only likes me! He’s just… shy…”
“You’re hopeless.” Maya gaze at me annoyingly.
“Huh?”
“I don’t think I should tell you what Mark feels about you. I may have a feeling what he might be feeling, like everyone in school, but why don’t you ask him. We’re friends now aren’t we, with him and Jr. and the others? They have been sitting with us ever lunch time this week.” Maya blows her painted nails. “I was wondering why you didn’t say anything to him this week.”
