Loudspeaker mode on.

Why isn’t he picking up his phone?

Call ended.

I looked at my yellow smiley wall clock.

“It’s past 11 P.M. already.” I twitched my lips to a suppressed pout.

I’ve been trying to call Donghae for the umpteenth time.

(rings. . .rings)

Still not picking up.

“I thought he said he always wants me to call him?” There’s a hint of annoyance in my voice.

Dara. . .come on. He’s tired due to their comeback. Let him rest, arasso?

I calmed myself. Angel Dara is right. Don’t be selfish Dara.

But he hasn’t contacted you for a week?! A week! Not even a single text! Would it kill him to text you “Hi Dara! Are you still alive? K. Bye.”?

Evil Dara reprimanded me. Yeah. Not even a text Fishy?

Don’t listen to her Dara! You know how much your fish loves you, right? He has his reasons. Just wait patiently.

Yeah. Guys are all the same after all. Right Dara? Full of bull reasons. What kind of love is that? You’ve been texting him for a week but he never replied once. Not once!

He has a good explanation about it Dara. Just wait and see. Donghae will never hurt you.

He is hurting her now! Right Dara?

Don’t be Dara. Trust your Fishy.

Scold him Dara until his eardrums gave out! Show him how frustrated you are because of him!

“Santokki-“

“AHHHHHHHH!!! BE QUIET YOU TWO!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I shook my head off while lying on my bed.

Was that the first stage of schizophrenia? Ottoke?!

“But I haven’t said anything yet Santokki.”

“Eh?”

Who was that?

I looked at my phone and put it back on speaker’s mode. I instantly sat up and put the phone on my right ear.

“LEE DONGHAE!!! YAH!!! WOULD IT KILL YOU TO TEXT ME EVEN JUST A SIMPLE ‘HI!’? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I WAS FOR A WEEK?! YOU’RE THE ONE WHO KEEPS ON TELLING ME TO ALWAYS MESSAGE EACH OTHER AND YET YOU’RE THE ONE WHO DO NOT DO SO! EVEN EUNHYUK SSI DOESN’T ANSWER HIS PHONE! I DIDN’T KNOW IF I DID SOMETHING WRONG THAT MADE YOU MAD! WE HAVEN’T SEEN EACH OTHER FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND THEN OUR COMMUNICATION HAD STOPPED . . . I . . . I . . . AIGOO! IT’S SO FRUSTRATING!” I paused for a while to breathe. I didn’t know I could speak that fast. Tears were beginning to form in my eyes.

Evil Dara motioned a gun hand gesture and fired it on Angel Dara. “Bang!” She winked at her. Angel Dara just wingpalmed her whole body as she shook her head.

“I MISS YOU SO MUCH PABO!” A pout was formed on her luscious pink lips.

DONGHAE’S POV

Where did my eardrums go?

I felt dizzy with her loud rants on the phone.

How could a woman so small like her shout like a giant monster even though we’re miles away?

I MISS YOU SO MUCH PABO!

A smile crept on my face.

“I miss you too Sandara. I miss you so much.” It was full of sincerity.

It’s the truth. Every second that passes without her is like living without air. Yeah. I’m that cheesy, okay?

“Hmmmp.”

“I love you Santokki.” I did many sounds of kisses on the phone. If my members would see me kissing my cellphone though, I’d gladly die right now.

“Tch.”

Yikes! She’s really mad. It’s understandable though.

“I said ‘I love you.’” I smiled on the phone.

“Whatever.”

“Can you please let me explain my beloved rabbit? Jebaaaaaaal.” I took my slippers off and lay on my bed.

“Fine.” She said flatly.

I just chuckled at her behavior. Rather than being scary, I find her so cute when she acts like this.

“Manager hyung confiscated all of our phones. Every member of Super Junior didn’t get to use their phone and laptop or any other gadgets for a week.”

“Wae?”

“Tch. It’s because of that monkey and evil maknae Dara. They were bickering about something and started throwing things at each other. At first, they were just pillows and magazines but then we heard a loud crash. It was from the glass frame of SJ’s huge picture hanging on the wall. What shocked us the most was manager hyung’s Iphone 6 Plus broken into pieces along with the glass frame. The stupid monkey thought it was Siwon’s wallet and threw it.”

I swear we saw Incredible Hulk in the presence of our manager when he approached us.

“Each of us got three beatings on the head even though those two were the only ones who made the ruckus. He was so furious and scary that we couldn’t disagree when he locked our cellphones and other gadgets in his cabinet.”

Dara didn’t say a thing.

“Dara. It’s the truth.”

“Still you didn’t contact me. You could’ve texted using your other friends or dancers’ phone-”

“I did!”

“What?” She was surprised.

“I’ve been calling and texting you since the first day my phone was confiscated but you never answered back.”

“Huh?”

“I called you with different phone numbers for like 5 times a day and even messaged you to answer the phone because my phone wasn’t with me.”

“T-that was really you?”

“Who else?” I knitted my eyebrows. Is there any other person who would do that?

“I-I thought it was Creep.”

“Creep?” Who’s that?

“Yeah. The one you mentioned before who calls on female idols and uses different idol’s names. I thought he was just using your name so I never answered it.”

Oh. That creep.

“Oh. I see. That. . .that’s right. You’ll never know. You. . .you have a point.” She really took that seriously?

I bit my lower lip and my eyes went from left to right as I waited for her answer.

“Mianhe Fishy. It’s my fault.”

“Hey. It isn’t your fault. Don’t be sorry.” I smiled. Actually, it was my fault if you’ll think about it. “Can I now have my ‘I love you too”?

She giggled on the other line. “Ne.”

 There was a pause.

“I love you so much Hae.”

We talked about what happened on us the past week. She was telling me about how she felt shy everytime she forgets her lines on set and the others would still find it cute. Dara said that she thinks she has the most NGs in the history of TV series. I began telling her about our comeback and how Eunhyuk and I were happy with the positive reviews on our album. How we enjoyed performing together and seeing the fans happy.

“Dara?”

I noticed that she had become so silent.

“Dara?”

I looked at my phone and saw that the call was still connected.

“Dara? Are you asleep?”

“Eh. . .Eh?”

“Are you sleepy already? Do you want-“

“Hae.” She whispered sadly.

“Yes?”

What’s with her tone?

There was silence.

“Dara. What’s wrong?” I knew there was something bothering in her mind. As seconds passed with her silence, I was getting more and more anxious.

“What were you thinking?”

Huh?

“What I’m thinking? Well, you seem sad bu-“

“When you were writing Growing Pains.”

I couldn’t answer it immediately. Since when did I find staring at the ceiling peaceful?

I knew she would ask about it at some point in time.

“Hahahaha!” She laughed nervously. “Mianhe Fishy. I’m just curious. The song is really beautiful that’s why-“

“You.” My only answer.

Another silence.
