Blessed Agony
Description
Managing to get over whatever happening during the year as a freshman with difficulties, tightly gripping onto the optimism to finally be able to start anew, I stuck my nose high in the air as I walked through the school gate. Cheerful laughters and enthusiastic chatters filling the morning air and I scanned my surroundings. My eyes caught everyone interacting, looking all excited after months of not seeing each others and full of endless stories about how each of their breaks had been spent.
Resuming to walk into the huge building, I took my time to saunter into my assigned classroom. Apparently almost everyone had been as early as I was. It was nothing strange when it came to the first day of school. Not seeing each others for quite sometime invoked that urge to wake up early, reach school quite sometime before the bell rang, sparing as much time as possible to catch up with close friends and other fellow schoolmates. But that was not the reason for my early show up. Apparently, my mom had been much more excited than I was because she had been barging into my room even before my phone alarm rang, continously nagging me to get my off my comfy bed because apparently being late on the first day of school was a big no no, not to mention leaving behind a very bad impression that would be remembered forever. At least, that was what she thought. Talk about dramatic, my mom sure would be number one on the list.
I wasn't the least bit excited to be back at school. Curling up and wrapped in my warm pink blanket would be much better option especially when the very reason of my reluctance stood a few meters ahead of me. I looked away when our eyes met, inhaling deeply as I attempted to walk past him in a cool manner, refusing to acknowledge his presence when he grabbed my wrist. I halted my steps, not expecting him to do so. My racing heart was killing me but I swore to never let it show in front of him. Never again. And when I turned my head, his familiar features greeted me, painted with his usual indifferent demeanour. I was in loss for words because for the very first time, since two months ago, Oh sehun, a senior who also happened to be my ex boyfriend was staring at me ever so intently.
