Although Yamapi was in a hurry to get home, he parked a block from his house. Sitting in the driver’s seat, he gripped the wheel tightly. What should I say? Should I act like it’s just a casual invitation to dinner? Should I get flowers? No. That would be way too obvious. I should just act normal. But I should be very nice like: opening the door for her, complimenting her and stuff like that. He shook his head to clear it. Then, taking a deep breath, he started up the car and drove very slowly the rest of the way home. He needed time to get his nerves under control.
By the time he made it to the front door, his hands shook slightly.
He opened the door and slipped inside. He was about to call out, but then he heard voices…one of which was Kamenashi-san’s and the other was…Dawn’s.
“You look beautiful. I’m glad to see your leg is recovering quickly,” Kame’s voice resonated down the hall.
“Thanks. You look nice too. I’m glad I’m recovering nicely too. The doctor says by next week, I should be as good as new!” Dawn’s voice was…shy, but also friendly.
Very friendly.
Too friendly.
Yamapi’s hands clenched into fists as he strode purposefully down the hall and into the living room.
Yanking the door open rather forcefully, he froze at what he saw. Kame was standing waaaaaay too close to Dawn and both of them were dressed up. Or more dressed up than a casual visit called for.
Kame had on an emerald green turtleneck with ripped denim jeans that made his hair and eyes seem darker and deeper. When Yamapi looked at Dawn, his breath caught in his throat. She had on a chestnut brown, tweed, knee-length skirt, a lavender button-up shirt and a brown and gold belt. Her beautiful, long hair was swept back into a cute butterfly clip and she was smiling at Kame.
They both turned to survey him as he entered. Dawn’s countenance lit up like a star when she saw him and he felt a small twinge of satisfaction in his stomach. Kame’s face closed off and became cold and distanced. He regarded Yamapi with open hostility. Yamapi immediately realized that he had a rival. And yes he used the word rival. Because this simple scene before him, convinced him beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had developed feelings for Dawn.
Chapter 3: I'm starting to like this story, I have a question, do they speak in English or Japanese? Jessica says she went to Japan 10 years ago or when she was ten...and I don't think she knows Japanese, right? And I don't know YamaPi knows English
