When everythings wrong - Epilogue

When everythings wrong - Prologue

Yunho went to Jaejoong's side, fingers immediately caressing the harmed skin on his husbands face. Jaejoong cringed when he touched them, a tinge of pain instinctively making him pull away, but he still smiled. "Yunnie, it's alright. Don't worry."

"What- What happened?" Yunho asked, pulling his hand from Jaejoong's face and instead wrapping it around the slender boys waist. He did worry, as he studied the deep purple bruise that colored Jaejoong's cheekbone and the redness covering the expanse of his jaw. Yunho creased his eyebrows in concern and looked at the setting of the room around him once more.

He watched his father, still slouched in the same chair, unmoving. What has happened here? Yunho thought helplessly, but he didn't really need an answer, because it was quite obvious. His father, Yunho realized disbelievingly, the very man that raised him, had laid an abusive hand on his husband.

Yunho stood, arm dangling at his side, hand clasped tight with Jaejoong's own. He looked back down at the slender boy and smiled at him, despite the pain in his heart when he saw the inflictions on Jaejoong's perfect face. He wanted so much to take the boy home and sooth him, but he knew that this, whatever this had turned out to be, wasn't over just yet and it was he who had to settle it.

The tall boy turned back to his father, unwillingly letting go of Jaejoong's hands. He heard the boy settle them back into his lap and he felt slightly as ease that Jaejoong was not alone anymore. The first chance he got, he would take those damn shackles off of his beautiful husbands hands.

His expression turned cold and angry. Yunho focused his full attention on his father. Everybody had left the room, the three of them were alone and there was no turning back now, not at this point. They couldn't put this past them, Mr. Jung had gone too far. He'd gone too far long before Yunho even knew he had.

Yunho took a couple steps toward his father. His footsteps sounded like bullets on the hardwood floor, but Mr. Jung did not look up. "What did you do to Jaejoong?" Yunho whispered, lowly. The question hung tensely above them, Yunho could hear Jaejoong moving behind him. He felt nervous, his heartbeat quickened. What am I doing? What should I do?

Without thinking any further, Yunho took the last several steps until he was at his fathers side. He looked down upon the slouching man and sighed. Have to do something. He thought and knelt down to see his fathers face. "Father, look at me." Yunho commanded, though his voice was still no higher than a whisper.

The old man trembled and a small shaking sigh surpassed his lips. He looked up and Yunho could see the sorrow and regret in the deep wrinkles of his aging face. Mr. Jung's expression portrayed his misery expertly, and Yunho couldn't help but feel slight pity for him.

"Father, tell me what you did." He demanded once more.

There was silence, nothing but the occasional sound of metal hitting metal as Jaejoong squirmed around in the background. Yunho closed and eyes and hung his head low, thinking, thinking. I don't know what to do. Mother... Mother help me, I don't want to do this.

"I don't know where to start, Yunho."

Yunho's eyes shot up, landing on his fathers own. They stared at each other, quiet. Yunho could see how much this confession would hurt the old man.

"I guess I should just tell you, finally." Mr. Jung chuckled softly, sadly. He looked away from his sons eyes and tried to continue, every word laced with regret and misery.

"Your mother and I... always wanted what was best for you." He took in a deep breath and then deflated, looking defeated. "Only our opinions on what was best for you were never the same. I wanted to give you everything, make life simple for you. I wanted to keep you from having to work as hard as I did to succeed. But your mother had morels, and they didn't include her son not 'making his own way and trying his best'."

Yunho sat back on his heels, listening closely through a pounding heart. The sound of it was so loud.

"I refused, and argued and demanded her to let me raise you the way that I wanted to. I thought I knew so much. I was certain I was right and she was wrong. She never gave up, though, she wouldn't let you live the 'fancy life' I was trying to give to you." The elder paused and sighed, shaking his head. "Then she wanted to take you away."

Yunho looked at his hands. Why didn't you let her? He shook his head.

"I should have let her, but you were my only son and I loved you so much. I saw her intentions as a threat to me, and I could not lose you to her."

Jaejoong moved, handcuffs beating against each other, loud in the deathly still room. His heart beat wildly beneath his rib cage  Yunnie bear, I love you. I love you. I love you. Yunho looked at him, and Jaejoong could see the sadness in his deep brown eyes.

"I killed her, Yunho." Mr. Jung in a long hard, quivering breath and said again; "I killed your mother."

Jaejoong stared into Yunho's eyes, watching as horror and disbelief fell upon them. Yunho shook his head, pushing it all away, Jaejoong knew. The hurt and pain, the surprise, he was pushing is all away, trying to calm himself. Jaejoong wanted to hold him and tell him it would be okay, but he knew it would be just a lie anyway.

"I couldn't lose you." Mr. Jung muttered, but it was only background noise.

Wait. Stop. What? Yunho pressed his shaking hands to the floor. He looked at the lines between each plank of wood that made up the hardwood floor, any distraction welcome to calm his pulsing thoughts. What? I didn't want it to be real... Why is this happening?

He didn't know what to say, his mind was racing with images; His father, enraged, standing above his mother in a threatening pose. He hit her, hit her hard and he killed her. "You killed mommy?" Yunho whispered, realization making his heart break. "You killed my mother and thought that it was best for me?"

Yunho closed his eyes. No. It's not true.

"Yes." Mr. Jung said. His answer was deafening. Yunho raised his hands and pressed them hard against his ears, wanting to hear no more.

"Shut up." Yunho scowled, tears of anger and hurt welling up in his eyes. "Liar."

"Yunho," Mr. Jung spoke lowly, not sure if his son could hear him at all. He rose to his feet, standing on wobbly legs and sunk to the floor on his knees. He reached for Yunho's knee, not sure what he was doing as new tears streamed down his sunken cheeks. "I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry for everything."

Yunho shook his head. "Get away from me!" He pushed himself back, escaping his fathers touch. Yunho squeezed his eyes shut as tight as he could and hot tears burned a trail down his cheeks. "I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore." Yunho hissed.

He could hear his father swallow and the rustling of his clothing as the old man stood. "Yunho, I love you." Mr. Jung whispered as his voice broke. Yunho opened his eyes and his vision was blurry. "I made a mistake, and now I've harmed two people that you care about."

Mr. Jung looked at the small boy in handcuffs on the floor. He winced and slumped his shoulders. "I'm sorry, Yunho. I can't take it back, but I'm sorry."

Yunho looked up at his father, eyes still clouded with tears. He could still see the sincerity in his face, though, and his heart beat grievously in his chest. "I love you, appa, but I cannot forgive you." Yunho looked at his husband who stared back at him. "You killed my mother and you assaulted my husband. For that I don't ever want to see or speak to you again." He blinked away the remaining tears and met eyes with his father.

Yunho stood up, legs shaky. "I expect you to turn yourself. If you don't, I will." He couldn't help but slump his shoulders as he made his way back over to Jaejoong. "Baby, let's go home." He said as he extended his hand to help the boy up.

Jaejoong took Yunho's hand and stood, peering over the taller boys shoulder at his father-in-law. Mr. Jung watched them, a sad smile on his face. Jaejoong's eyes stayed glued to the old man as Yunho lead him out of the room by his hand. He wanted to wave, thank him for all the kindness he had bestowed upon him, because he knew that this would be the last chance he would ever get to do so.

For Yunho's sake, Jaejoong kept the words to himself, and instead turned his attention to his husband who would be needing a lot of comfort for days to come.

~

Successful business man, Jung Daeshim, turned himself into the authorities earlier this evening, confessing to the murder of his deceased wife. Authorities say-

Jaejoong turned the television off and dropped the remote. It rolled off the couch and hit the floor with a muffled thump. "Baby?"

"Do you think I did the right thing?" Yunho whispered, his words so jumbled and slurred they would be beyond comprehension if they were meant for anybody but Jaejoong.

Jaejoong smiled softly as he ran a loving hand through his husbands hair. Yunho nuzzled his face closer into Jaejoong's lap. "Of course, Yunnie."

"What do I do from here? Do I really ignore him for the rest of my life?" Yunho sighed, pressing his cheek hard against Jaejoong thigh. "Tell me what to do, Joongie."

The slender boy let his hand slide down the length of Yunho's arm, stopping at his forearm. "Yunnie, you don't need to decide on it all right now. If the feeling comes sometime in the future, if you want to see him, then think about it then." Jaejoong rubbed soothing circles against Yunho's skin. "You have all the time that you need."

"But what if something happens? What if I never get the chance to-"

"Yunho. You can't think that way. You said everything you needed to. Your father knows that you love him, and he is the one that did wrong, not you. Stop worrying about what you need to do anymore, you've already done everything right."

Yunho thought about Jaejoong's words. He smiled and moved to lay on his back. Staring up at Jaejoong like that made him think of all the luck it must have taken to make someone as beautiful as Jaejoong want to love somebody as pathetic as himself. "It feels good to know you understand, baby."

"I'll always understand you." Jaejoong palmed Yunho's cheeks and leaned down to kiss him quickly on the lips. "Because I love you."

Yunho sat up then, his lips curled up into a smile. He wrapped his arm around Jaejoong's torso and pulled the man close to him. "I love you, too, Jung Jaejoong." Suddenly, that was all that mattered. This moment alone could wash away all the worries and doubts.

Jaejoong chuckled. They stared into each others eyes and kissed, just like they do in the movies and it did feel like magic.

Chapter 27: Thank you <3 I really like this fic. And it's already an epilogue, but why don't you mark it as complete? Do you plan on continuation? There are indeed some unfinished things like YooSu relationship, but it can be figured out where to. Anyway, I'll let your creativity takes control :)
Btw, the things that sometimes bothered, the "(noun)s" is confusing and needs to reread to understand when it is for plural " ....s " or when belongs to something/one "....'s "
Cheers!
