“Luhan were here.” I felt you nudge me awake as our van came to a stop in front of the airport.

I rubbed the sleep off my eyes as I try to ignore the unsettling feeling in my gut at the prospect of getting on a plane and being 40,000 feet off the ground. You must have sensed my anxiety, placing your hand on mine as an attempt to calm me down.

“Hey, it’s gonna be alright. “ You mumbled before pressing your lips against mine for a quick kiss. “I’ll be right here with you.”

I couldn’t help but feel shy at your words, and my hand in yours as we walked through the airport was making me more skittish than before. It didn’t help that our fans were taking photos of us and I’m quite sure there will be a handful of those posted online. Some might even show the two of us holding hands. Just the mere thought of that sent blood up to my face.

“It looks like you’ve gotten a window seat. Want to switch with me?” You asked concerned as we received our boarding passes.

My mouth went dry. Not only because of the thought that I’ll have to sit next to a window of the plane through the duration of our flight, but also because of how close your face was to mine. Our close proximity was enough to make my heart beat a thousand miles a minute.

“Y-yeah, that would be nice.” I stuttered.

Mistaking the cause of my nervousness for acrophobia, you gently placed your hand against my cheek and rubbed it comfortingly. I couldn’t help but lean towards your touch.

“We’ll get through this together. Okay.” You whispered against my ear as you pulled me in for a short hug, not wanting to draw attention from the fans.

Manager – hyung called you and I was left standing there, looking like a complete idiot but I was still struggling with the fact that you just hugged me in front of a thousand people and in public. I know that our fans would have probably mistaken that as a form of fan-service but I couldn’t stop myself from reliving the moment again and again.

You know what I still do not understand? That after all these years, you still manage to make me feel like a teenager on her first date. Each time we’d meet each other’s eye during concerts, whenever we’d sneak out at night or the surprises you would prepare for me, all these things that I thought was already something we would do on a regular basis, it still has that weird effect on me. No matter how our constant skinship has now become a norm for us and for our other members as well as our fans, my heart would always seem to race each time you would be the one to initiate it. What’s even more ridiculous is how I would blush madly each time you’d lean in forward to whisper something in my ear. Each time you’d wrap your arms around me, it felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. Remember how I told you that all your little actions would make me fall over and over again for you? It’s true. Just listening to the beat of my heart each time we’d hold hands will serve as evidence for it.
