“Everyone, let me introduce our newest trainee Luhan. He’s from China so I expect everyone to be nice to him. Got it?” A man, who appeared to be one of the dance instructors or one of the staff said as he introduced me.

I gave a 90 degree bow before introducing myself. “Hello everyone. I’m Luhan and I’m from China. Please treat me well.” I tried my best to make sure that my Korean was as accurate as I could.

I could feel everyone’s eyes on me as if they’re trying to bore a hole through me. Consciously, I lowered my head to avoid anyone’s eye. Without noticing, someone approached me. You.

“Hello Luhan, I’m Minseok, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” I looked up in time to see you flash your wide lopsided smile at me and I couldn’t help but smile back.

“Hi Minseok.” I tried not to stutter but I just found myself blushing under your stare.

You extended your hand to mine. “Welcome to SM Entertainment.”

I reached out to shake your hand, discretely wiping my sweaty palms on my jeans.  “Thanks.”

You let out a soft chuckle. “I know it must be hard for you being away from your home and all, but if you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask. We also have another trainee here who is also from China. I thought you might want to meet him and hopefully feel more at home.”

As if on cue, another boy approached us, I thought at first that he was older than you, so imagine my surprise when he called you ‘hyung’

You introduced him as Yixing, another trainee brought to Korea from China, I tried to pay attention to what he was saying but I couldn’t help but stare at your face. There was something about the way you looked at me that was simply mesmerizing. I couldn’t seem to take my eyes off you. I was only vaguely aware that your hand had found mine, fingers intertwined. I was only pulled back to reality when you squeezed my hand and looked at me expectantly.

“So, what do you say about dinner with us later Luhan?” You asked me, I turned to see Yixing sporting a similar expression as well.

I wanted to turn you down; I still have some things I have to settle but the hopeful look on your face made it hard to say no.

“Great.” You smiled at me once again. When Yixing was out of earshot you leaned in and whispered to my ear. “I knew you’d say yes. I could see it in your eyes.”

The way you look at me, it gives me strength. Just by looking at you gives me courage. They way you look at me; it shows me that you truly believe in me, it shows how you truly feel about me. Just by you looking at me, Minseok, I am assured that you do love me, deep down inside.
