“Hey bro can I tell you something?” Chanyeol asked while taking off his sweaty gym shirt currently reeking of post-workout sweat.    “Shoot.” Kai said while taking off his shorts to change into his jeans.   “I kind of…like someone.” Chanyeol mumbled while slipping into his school shirt.   “What?! My Chanyeollie actually likes someone?! Whoa man who’s the lucky guy?” Kai asked with a small laugh. Chanyeol has been single for WAY too long and in Kai’s opinion it’s about damn time he started looking for a mate or at least seeming interested in one.   “About that…”   “It’s one of my Ex’s isn’t it?” Kai asked bluntly.    “WHAT? NO! I mean…kind of…I mean yes.” Chanyeol sighed dejectedly. He knows one of the main rules of guy code is to NEVER date your best friends Ex. It almost never ends up well, but well Chanyeol just couldn’t resist the way Baekhyun looked so cute, almost as if he could just fit in Chanyeol’s pocket and-   “Yo!” Kai screamed in Chanyeol’s ear while waving a hand in front of the taller’s face. After he successfully got Chanyeol to snap out his little episode he continued, “I asked which Ex is it.”   “Baekhyun…” Chanyeol almost whimpered because he knew what was coming.   “You know, when I was going out with Baekhyun,” Kai started and Chanyeol sighed, “I figured that all of the complaining I did when I was dating Baekhyun would prevent you from ever feeling attracted to him, but I guess you’re too vain to be logical.”   “You’re not mad?” Chanyeol asked while looking up. “I thought you’d be upset I like someone you dated, not lecture me on my taste.”   “Maybe if it was someone else, but Baekhyun is the devil. He’s hot and good in bed, but like, I really don’t want anything to do with him unless it’s a social event where we have to be together.  Or as I said, he’s a good friend with benefits but just take out the ‘friend’.”   “You guys still hook up?” Chanyeol asked sadly.   “Well maybe like once every few months. He practically begs for from me like every day though. I’m not sure how this is going to work…I mean I’m not mad for your liking him, but I don’t want you to harbor negative feelings toward me if he doesn’t return your feelings…You know? I don’t want Baekhyun of all people to come between our friendship.” Kai said while zipping up his jacket. “Baekhyun is a real and you know that, so why would you put yourself through that?”    “I don’t know.” Chanyeol answered honestly. “There is just something about him that I love. Maybe I can change his ways. Make him less of a primadonna and more of a human being.” Kai laughed at his clueless friend and softly punched him on the shoulder. “Alright, well when he breaks your heart you know I’ll be here for you, well if you let me be. Who know what I’ll be to you after this whole thing plays out.”   “Shut up.” Chanyeol said while punching Kai on the shoulder. “You know damn well we’re always going to be best friends. I won’t let Baekhyun come between that.”   “Time will tell. All I know is that I remember when you liked Krystal in middle school. When you should out she liked me instead of you, you didn’t talk to me for 2 months. That wasn’t fair to me at all and you know it and I just feel like it’s going to happen again. I really would rather you not go for Baekhyun, but I feel like nothing I say will change your opinion so just…be careful.” Kai said while standing up to leave. “Now is this incredibly cheesy and disgusting bro to bro moment over so we can head to class?   “Yeah…” Chanyeol whispered distractedly, “Yeah.”   -----------------------------------------
