The Emergency
Just on Time
“I’m sorry for the trouble, Mr. Kim. You can actually head straight to your house. I’ll just hail a cab,” So Min stated as soon as they reached the elevator.
“I’m just following the orders,” Hyun Joong replied coldly.
“Mr. Kim, you are his secretary. Your work is enclosed in this building and work hours are way over now. Besides, you’re not his driver. You have the right to refuse orders that you aren’t suppose to do,” So Min told him.
‘Woah. She surely is a very considerate lady. I wonder how Mr. Lee convinced her to be his girlfriend,’ Hyun Joong thought after hearing her statement.
He then turned his head to the side to look at her. “Well then, just consider it as doing a good deed to a young lady whose life could be in grave danger if she goes home alone at this time.”
“A cab wouldn’t be dangerous,” So Min snapped out quickly.
“That’s what you think, Miss Jung. But no one really knows what runs through the minds of the cab drivers. What if the one you will ride in is a erted one and would bring you somewhere else besides your house? My conscience will surely torture me to death,” he explained.
So Min looked away from him. ‘He has a point,’ she thought.
Hyun Joong remained looking at the beautiful lady standing beside her. After a while, So Min looked back at him and smiled.
“I guess you’re right. Thank you in advance,” she said and the elevator opened leading them to the parking lot area.
While making their way to Hyun Joong’s car, So Min felt a slight pain on her stomach. She ignored it and thought that she was just hungry.

The ride remained silent for the both of them. So Min felt the pain again and held her stomach. She ignored it once again. But when she felt a sudden gush of liquid underneath her, she froze and stared blankly on the road.
‘Oh my God! What date is it?’ she asked herself. ‘Damn! It’s the 3rd! How could I forget about it? But it's supposed to be on the 5th!’
She then processed some thoughts of what to do next. ‘Home! Home!’
Of course, there’s no other place to be more comfortable than her home.
‘But wait, I’m still in…’ She turned to her left and stared at the driving man beside her. ‘… Mister Kim Hyun Joong’s car!’
So Min bit her lip as she realized that something bad might happen next.
Hyun Joong noticed this and looked at her. “What’s wrong?’ he asked her.
“Mr. Secretary, can we please stop by the nearest convenience store? Please? Please? Please?” she entreated.
Hyun Joong took a glance at her and noticed that she was holding her stomach. “Miss Jung, there are a lot of drive thru here. Why choose a convenience store to buy food?” he asked her.
“It’s not about food!” So Min yelled.
Hyun Joong was a bit shocked and looked at her for a moment before looking at the road again.
So Min realized that she had just shouted at him and she felt guilty. But she was in panic.
