(The story behind 126: the Great Cat Apocalypse)

Question: how many cats can live in the dorms before Leeteuk notices them.

Purpose: obtain numerical evidence on the number of cats capable of living in the dorms before Leeteuk notices.

Hypothesis: the subject will take several days to notice the increasing amounts of cats, due to the subject's lack of observation skills.

Prediction: the subject will take a minimum of five days to notice the increasing amount of cats in the dorms, hence having at least twenty cats living in the dorms.

Materials: cats

Methods: a black cat was introduced every six hours, over the course of a week. The cats were let to roam free around the subject, and observations were taken of the subject. The experiment was complete once the subject noticed the increase of cats in the dorms.

Observations:

Cat 1, "Mamacita": the following comment was made by subject "did Heechul get a new cat?" and petting occurred. No suspicious behavior detected by the subject.

Cat 2, "Heechul For Ruler of the Universe": the subject glanced at Heechul For Ruler of the Universe and said nothing.

Cat 3, "Kyuhyun For Ruler of the Universe": the following comment was made by the subject "is it a boy or a girl?"

Cat 4, "Geegeegeegee": subject is asleep and did not detect presence of newly introduced Geegeegeegee.

Cat 5, "Eunhyuk's Stinky Feet": subject attempted to approach Eunhyuk's Stinky Feet. Said cat ran away."

Cat 6, "Broom of Doom": subject ignored Broom of Doom as he jumped on the table.

Cat 7, "Eunhyuk's Stinky Shoes": subject pet Eunhyuk's Stinky Shoes. No suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 8, "I Need a Holiday": subject is asleep and did not notice newly introduced I Need a Holiday.

Cat 9, "Mr Simple", subject was away on schedule upon introduction of Mr Simple.

Cat 10, "Kyuhyun's Cooking ": subject gave a treat to Kyuhyun's Cooking . No suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 11, "Subaribasu": subject is asleep and did not notice newly introduced Subaribasu.

Cat 12, "Rokugeo": subject is still asleep and did not notice newly introduced Rokugeo.

Cat 13, "Steve": subject has taken a liking to Steve, petted and fed him. No further affectionate behavior, and no suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 14, "Yesung+Turtles=Love": subject ignored Yesung+Turtles=Love.

Cat 15, "Leeteuk Is Stinky": subject ignored Leeteuk is Stinky.

Cat 16, "New Endless Love For Food": subject petted New Endless Love For Food. No further suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 17, "Ururang": the following comment was made by the subject: "is it just me or Heechul got a bunch of cats?". No further suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 18, "Fruit Shop Owner": subject is asleep and did not notice the presence of Fruit Shop Owner.

Cat 19, "All Hail the Banana Overlord": subject is still asleep and did not notice the presence of All Hail the Banana Overlord.

Cat 20, "Heechul and Kyuhyun Are Starting to Run Out of Names": subject petted Heechul and Kyuhyun Are Starting to Run Out of Names. No further suspicious behavior detected.

Cat 21, "Pizza"*: subject petted Pizza. No further suspicious behavior detected.

*Never ask Shindong for baby names.

Cat 22, "My Is Bigger Than Kyuhyun's Wine Collection": the subject has finally noticed the increasing amounts of cats.

Leeteuk sat in the living room, staring suspiciously at everything. He knew something was wrong, he knew the members were up to something. He noticed the typical "planning a coup" behavior, as he liked to call it, he knew it all too well. He couldn't, however, put his finger on what they had done, the couch was intact, the television was playing anime that Eunhyuk was intensely watching, his hair was as normal as it would get in the morning, there was nine cats in the room, there was no levitating furniture or exhibitionist display- there was nine cats in the room. That was it.

He angrily stalked to Heechul's room, where he found him sitting on his bed with an old looking notebook, something out of the middle ages, and surrounded by another five cats.

“Heechul what are you doing, what is going on?”

He lifted his eyes off of his notebook and gave the blank stare. “Come on Leeteuk, it’s just a thing I do, and it’s not like I force them to give it to me-”

“The cats. Wait what are you talking about?”

Heechul waved his hand in a dismissing manner, “what cats? What about them?”

“The fourteen cats I just counted. Just how many of them are there living here?”

Heechul grabbed another notebook, scribbled something down and shut it with a loud snap. “Game over. You’re no fun, it only took you five days. And the answer to your question is twenty two, not including Heebum of course.”

“What is this game you’re talking about?”

He smirked, “Collecting souls...I mean, for the past five days we’ve been introducing cats every six hours to see how long it would take you to notice. It took you five days, you’re really, really lousy.”

“Unless you’ve noticed, we’ve been more than a little busy and I haven’t been expecting that the Great Cat Apocalypse would start on a Tuesday.”

Conclusions: the total amounts of cats living in the dorms before the subject noticed is twenty two.
