(At your hotel)

Your phone is ringing and saw that EunJae’s manager is calling.

“EunJae’s arrival today.” You thought.

You: hello?

Manager: Hi JC.

You: Hi manager. What’s up to us?

Manager: did you forget about today’s event?

You: it’s *stammering* EunJae’s arrival?

Manager: exactly. From the airport, she’ll go here at my house to stay for one day. You have to come here. You want to see her with your friend right?

You: yes. But I am the only one who will go there.

Manager: why? What happened to your friend?

You: oh nothing. I want to surprise her step by step.

Manager: oh I see. I’ll tell my driver to pick you up there.

You: okay.

Manager: see you then.

~CALL ENDED~

L heard what you have said a while ago and he felt bad.

You turned back and saw him leaning on the wall.

You: *gasps* how long you’ve been there?

L: 5 minutes ago.

You: y-you heard our conversation?

L: why can’t I go with you?

You: you don’t understand.

L: really? Can you explain it?

You: Myungsoo.

L: maybe you’re the one who don’t understand. Because you didn’t love someone like I loved EunJae.

You: I’m doing this for your situation. EunJae can’t see you first because you know that she doesn’t want to see you. We will set your first meeting on her birthday. You two alone. Not today Myungsoo. She only got home from Malaysia. Please try to understand. Let’s take it easy.

L: I hope that’s not a lie.

You: lie?

L: you’re a liar. That’s your job.

You: well this time I’m serious.

L: really? I hope so.

You: there are things forcing us to lie just for that person’s good. That’s what I am doing. If it’s wrong with other people well I don’t care because I know I protected that person. I’d even go lie to protect you.

L: *was secretly shocked*

There was a moment of silence between you and L and the environment.

L didn’t reply and left you alone.

After what happened, you dressed up and went to EunJae’s Manager while L stayed at the hotel’s garden and was quietly sitting at the bench.

“I’d even go lie to protect you.”

Seven words and one sentence kept on repeating on L’s mind.

(At the Manager’s house)

Manager: she’s coming. 2 minutes to go and your best friend is here.

You: *nervously smiled*

~After a minute~

~KNOCK KNOCK~

The manager opened the door and EunJae immediately hugged her manager. You also stood up.

“They’re maybe close.” You thought.

EJ: I missed you!

Manager: me too dear.

EJ: how are you?

Manager: I’m fine.

EJ: that’s great to hear.

Manager: EunJae, turn at your back. *smiled*

EunJae gave a curious face and slowly turned back and saw you smiling nervously.

EJ: JC?

You: how do you-

EJ: *hugged you tightly* you surprised me.

You: how are you?

EJ: I really missed you. *tears falling*

You: are you crying?

EJ: tears of joy I guess.

You both hugged each other again.

Manager: You both are so sweet. *wipe tears*

All laughed.

EJ: who’s with you here?

You: a friend of mine. He wants to meet you.

EJ: he? Oh I’m kind of excited. When will I meet him?

You: on your birthday?

EJ: oh great timing.

You stayed at her manager’s house for almost 5 hours and the conversation goes on.
