Haneul made her way into the Chemistry lab where not a single chemical stood on the racks meant for them. She sighed as the old professor slowly slid his way in.

“Girls to the right and boys to the left please.”

Yes, that old. And old fashioned. Haneul thought she saw a wink in her direction. She blinked a couple of times before turning to her left to see a giant smirking at her before nudging her.

“Kris!” she hissed as he winked at her again before stepping away under the professor’s watchful eyes. She chuckled before filing towards the burner she had been directed to.  A lot of chatter, confusion and exchange of lab coats (“hey Minji, do you have the small size? Pass it here!”) Every one settled down on the stools in front of each burner.

            “Alright Mr. Oh, take the one free burner on the girl’s side. Do not talk!”

            A blank faced blonde slid into the seat in front of Haneul. The pristine white of the lab coat seemed pale against his skin. He flicked his hair back and met her eyes with a piercing glare.

Haneul gulped and stared at Sehun’s back when he turned to look at the old man slowly drawling his way through the experiment they would be performing. She threw a cursory glance around the classroom to see Kris doodling away in his notebook and proudly showing it to Yixing or Lay, who looked at it sleepily before frowning at Kris’s enthusiasm.

How the hell did Minah like the old man Donghae when there were so many young and very attractive men around her? Haneul always wondered as she pulled her eyes away from Yixing who turned around in her general direction. The chemicals required had magically appeared in front of her (her bench mate had brought them).

Yes, Chemistry was her weakness.

            Not because it was a tough subject but because the chemistry that happened in her body every class.

            Damn hormones.

She mixed the correct reagents and prepared herself to perform a test for oxygen where she had to hold a burning splinter near the mouth of the test tube and if it stayed on, then it was oxygen. She picked up the little splinter and held it over the bubbling mixture in the test tube.

She heard a soft curse in front of her before looking up to see a paler Sehun shivering with the splinter, missing the test tube’s mouth by miles.

So much for cold and haughty.

“Hey” she whispered, nodding to him as his head shot up and his cheeks turned pink at being caught “do you want me to help?” she continued confidentially. His face turned back to its blank expression as he nodded.

“That’d be great.”

She reached over and grabbed the splinter from his hand, lit it on the burner flame before holding it over the test tube. The flame glowed brighter before Haneul waved it off and handed it back to him.

“You’re welcome.” She chuckled as he looked at Kris and Yixing, hoping they didn’t see him being a sissy.

“Hey you two! No talking in the laboratory!” the professor yelled, or rather croaked. Sehun cursed as the two he had hoped weren’t looking turned around to smirk at him along with the rest of the class.
