An unearthly scream echoed through the campus as Dambi squirmed back into her bed and Minah stood by her door with a chubby ball of fur squirming in her arms.

"So I guess you can't help me raise this one." She stated blankly as Dambi glared at her.

"I'm good as long as it's far away from me. Emphasis on far away."

"Then I guess I'll have to tell Haneul she can't adopt a puppy." Minah sighed as Dambi watched the brown bit of fluff squirm around in Minah's arms with dreaded fascination.  She never knew why she was afraid of dogs when they were so fluffy and cute in the photos. 
"Maybe because they bite." She thought to herself.

"Wait, Haneul wanted to adopt one? You mean to say that there are more than one?!"

"Yeah, six in all. People on campus are adopting them till we can get them a home. I wanted to introduce you to Haru, but I guess you're afraid." Minah replied bouncing the puppy like it was a baby.

"Like I said. I like them from afar." Dambi mumbled as Minah laughed and held the puppy named Haru up like Simba. The little thing tilted its head at Dambi and blinked as the latter suppressed her urge to squeal at its cuteness. She hated how she found them cute and was afraid of them up close.

"Well, I was thinking of adopting this one with someone else with a different time table so that they can take care of it when I'm not around." Minah sighed as Dambi nodded.

"I wish I could help, but I'm petrified and also our timetables clash. Ask Joonma, he had the performing arts schedule right?" Dambi suggested.

"Yeah, I'll ask the seniors too. They have a different time table! Thank you for the idea!" Minah brightened up before waving to Dambi and shutting the door behind her. Dambi buried her head in her pillow.

"I know who that idiot will go and ask."

“You’re going to have a daddy war.” Ahra declared when Minah reported to her that Donghae and Joonmyeon were free enough to take care of the puppy.

“What?!” Minah nearly dropped Haru who she was playing with. The puppy squirmed around on the floor yapping and nipping at Minah’s toes.

“You obviously have a thing going on with both of them.” Haneul, who had crashed in their room, commented.

“What do you mean by having a thing? Donghae isn’t even interested and Joonie, well…I’m not sure what it is with Joonie, he’s really nice and caring, but something’s off as well.” Minah looked down and away, twirling her fingers over the puppy who tried to catch them.

“Don’t let Dambi hear you say that.” Haneul mumbled as Minah turned to her with an “hmm?”

“I think you shouldn’t lose hope on Donghae.” Ahra nodded excitedly while Minah sighed and rested her forehead against her bed on which Haneul was lying. Dambi refused to step into the room while the puppy was there. But she had insisted that Minah choose Joonmyeon instead citing reasons such as Joonmyeon being freer and Donghae being busy with student presidential work.

“What should I do? Test the two or something?” Minah proceeded to bang her head against the bed as Haneul grabbed hold of it to stop her.

“Maybe, I don’t know.” She suggested and Minah ruffled the puppy’s fur. Ahra rolled off her bed and proceeded the pet the puppy as well Haneul was quick to join till…

“URGH! It peed!” Haneul squealed as she and Ahra backed away from the pup and Minah laughed, getting up to search for a spare cloth in her wardrobe.

“It’s an animal, what did you expect?” she continued, pulling out a rag and quickly mopping up the floor before disinfecting it with a disinfectant spray.

“I never knew you had that stuff with you.” Ahra deadpanned as Minah shrugged.

“I always come armed.”

“What are you feeding it?” Haneul asked, resuming her place on Minah’s bed while Minah washed the rag thoroughly and returned.

“Well, as of now, milk. But if I get enough money, or someone to split the bull with, then I can buy puppy food from the city.” She replied, settling down beside the tired puppy who fell asleep in her arms.

“I can imagine Dambi’s reply to this: Joonma’s the rich kid, I vouch for him when it comes to puppy food.” Haneul commented laying back on the bed as Ahra watched the sleeping pup.

“Peeing makes it tired?” Ahra wondered out loud.

“She’s a baby, sometimes even walking a few steps makes her tired. Wait till she grows up,” Minah gently picked the puppy up and placed it
