Basketball and Rain
Crack Campus Chronicles“You should have seen Dambi’s face!” Haneul laughed as she, Dambi and Minah walked back to the rooms. It was dark and Dambi’s mutinous face was completely unseen.
“That was a hot performance Dambi, are your dry?” Minah chuckled as Dambi threw her a dirty glare. She had been extremely surprised by Jongin’s sudden confident outburst and how it seemed like it was all directed to her. She shivered at the memory of the entire performance.
“She has been rendered speechless,” Haneul chuckled “nothing beats Kyungsoo and Ahra running out of the hall like an eloping couple. I wonder where those two are?” she asked her two companions as they entered an academic building through which they had to walk to reach their blocks.
“I donno, Joonie…”Minah began as Dambi snapped up her head.
“Did you just call Joonma…Joonie? What are you guys? Banging?” she blinked at her friend who looked back at her mortified.
“DAMBI! Our relationship is platonic! I repeat pla...”
“Minah! Is that you?” a voice called from the floor above as her head shot up to see the man she had just said goodbye to and was just talking about.
“Yeah Joonie?” she returned the sweet smile he sent to her.
“Uhm, I’m going star gazing, and I…”
“Yeah, she’ll come!” Dambi yelled, pushing Minah towards the stairs by the small of her back as Haneul shot the two a disapproving look. Minah looked confused, but slowly began making her way up the stairs while Dambi sighed and signaled to Haneul that they could leave.
“What are you doing?” Haneul hissed as Dambi shrugged.
“She should move on.”
The two kept walking until they saw two very familiar figures sitting on the stairs outside their block.
“I think I know where the Rainbow Couple are.” Dambi chuckled as they spotted Kyungsoo and Ahra chatting away busily. Ahra’s cheeks were a shade of pink and Kyungsoo’s eyes were glowing.
“Jesus Christ, these two should just run to a damn church and get married.” Dambi mumbled.
“This is the first time I heard Jesus Christ, Church and Damn in the same sentence.” Haneul laughed as they made their way up the stairs. Dambi winked at the all of the sudden silent pair who stared back at her mortified.
“It’s not what you think! She needed air!” Kyungsoo blubbered.
“Should have given her a mouth to mouth.” Haneul teased as Ahra choked.
“Yeah, she probably would have died when she heard you singing for Kai’s performance.” Dambi nodded knowingly “She adores your voice. Don’t get fooled by her CR-ly appearance.”
“Let’s talk about how things went during the performance shall we?” Ahra piped up, her face a new shade of angry red “Dambi’s face was beautiful, don’t you agree Kyungsoo?”
“Yes, I could see the lust in her eyes, pupils dilated and all.” He nodded sincerely trying to ignore the blush creeping up his cheeks. Ahra liked his voice so much? He should make it a point to sing more often. He made a mental note of it.
“Oh and how Kris was pulling all his moves on Haneul. The one moment he wasn’t a BenBen.” He continued, chuckling as the three looked at him.
“Benben?”
“An adjective to describe the weirdness known as Kris.”
“Which is?”
“You’ll see it soon enough, especially you Haneul.” He ended smugly as Haneul blinked.
They made a quick retreat to their rooms leaving the two behind.
“I’m sorry about them.” Ahra mumbled as Kyungsoo waved it off.
“So you like me singing. Big deal.” He airily said even though his heart sped up at the thought of it. Ahra blinked at him, the entire time she had butterflies in her stomach and she had been feeling excessively shy. But Kyungsoo had his charming ways.
