Masquerade (Part 1)
Crack Campus Chronicles“I forgot to buy sheet masks!” Haneul groaned, facepalming as Minah yawned and glared at the former for waking her up from her nap. Ahra was busy sorting her things out for the ball that night.
“Top shelf, somewhere in the corner.” Minah mumbled sleepily, trying to cover her head with the blanket as Haneul wrenched it out of her hands. Haru squirmed around next to her owner, trying to cuddle in closer.
“You have sheet masks!?”
Minah replied incoherently, trying to calm her puppy down as Ahra translated.
“She always comes armed.”
“Get your off the bed and start getting ready!” Haneul shook Minah, who whined and clutched the half asleep puppy.
“I don’t wanna go!”
“Shut up and get up.” Ahra glared at Minah before aiming a bottle of water at her. The latter shot off her bed, hiding the puppy from the possible water attack while Haneul rummaged through her cupboard for the box of sheet masks.
“You’re going with Donghae, why don’t you want to go?” she asked as Minah sighed, pouring a little water for the puppy in her bowl.
“I’m sure he’s going with me out of pity.”
“He wouldn’t have gotten Luhan to hang up the phone if he didn’t want to go with you. Now go put on a mask.” Ahra coaxed as Minah eyed her.
“No,” she shook her head only to see the other girls shooting her the most evil looks in the world. “Noooo!” she squealed as the two dragged her into the bathroom.
When Dambi entered the room, she saw a mutinous looking Minah with a sheet mask stuck on her face and Haru on her lap while Ahra and Haneul sat on Ahra’s bed painting their nails.
“I’m not sure what’s going on here, but here you go,” She said handing a take away cup of coffee to Minah, who, rummaged for her wallet, feeling rather blind without her glasses. “I’m guessing this is the reason you couldn’t go the café?”
“Yeah,” Minah replied, handing Dambi the money for the coffee as Dambi shook her head.
“It’s on the house.” Dambi replied, smirking at the blinking Minah trying to read the message written on the cup.
“Uhm, who wrote this?” Minah bit her lower lip.
“Who else dipwad?”
“Donghae?”
“Of course!” Dambi replied, plonking down on the bed watching the other two’s heads shoot up in interest.
“What does it say?!” Haneul asked, trying to peer over the space between the two beds.
“I can’t wait to see you tonight.” Dambi said, slowly reaching out to pat Haru’s back before Minah could open . The latter choked on her coffee.
“Oooh!” Ahra grinned as Minah attempted to cover her sheet mask covered face.
“But you should have seen Kris’ eating face today though, nearly matched Kyungsoo’s, they’ve been like excited little toddlers all day. Man Haneul, how many boy’s hearts are you breaking?” Dambi laughed, as the two on the other bed turned a shade of red.
“Are you serious?”
“Do I ever joke?”
“Well….”
“Oh shut up and trust me on this!”
The two shut up quickly as Minah nudged Dambi “How’re the dreams coming along?”
Dambi blushed “No one must know. Period.”
“But we all do.” Haneul teased as Dambi tossed Minah’s blanket at her.
“Shut up and get ready,” She grumbled, getting up from the bed and walking towards the door “I’ll see you in an hour or so.”
“I’ll come upstairs and doll you up!” Haneul called after her as Dambi yelled something about her dead body. Minah sighed, rolling off the bed as Haneul and Ahra eyed her.
“How about we doll you up?” Haneul suggested, looking at Minah who was grabbing a pile of things from her cupboard.
“Yeah, no.” Minah replied, picking up her glasses and tossing back her braid.
“What are you going to do about your glasses? You’re not wearing that dress with your glasses and your hair like that!” Ahra exclaimed as Minah rolled her eyes and showed her a box of contact lenses.
“Now if you guys would let me go and take a shower; that would be great.”
The two in the room sighed, before getting back to business.
Haru watched the entire event silently before cuddling beside Ahra and watching the two.
