When I came into this world, my Appa said I am the most handsome besides him and my Umma. Jinjja! I was born on October 11 at exactly 1:13 in the morning and my Umma said they were so very happy when they hear me crying. That’s when I found out crying is not so bad after all.

My Appa and Umma gave me warmth so I always smile and laugh with them. When they brought me home, I feel like even though I’m a little baby boy I am complete because Umma and Appa was always hugging and kissing me. They’re always there for me all the time.

When I was growing up, they spoiled me to the extent of maybe giving the whole world to me is not a problem. With a room filled with toys, a gaming room courtesy of my Uncle Kyuhyun and a warm and full of love bedroom, what else can I ask for more?

I was definitely happy, as in super happy.

I am the most important to them. Like, they are revolving around me. Watching every step I take, learning how to speak ‘Appa’ and ‘Umma’ at 1; learning how to crawl and learning how to walk at 2. They mold me and formed me to become a better man.

I was their everything.

But the problem started when I was 5.

Sleeping together in one bed is a must for a growing family. It’s like the first step of having a family. And, the first offspring will always be in the middle, sleeping gently in the night with the warmth of the parents combined.

It happened when I woke one early morning and the sun wasn’t rising up yet. I felt a stir from my left which was my Appa’s side. It wasn’t too much of a big deal but it became one of my greatest envy in life, kept in secret all these years. It was the time when my Appa shifted his position by passing by me and went towards my Umma and cuddles him tight.

I was just looking at them dumbfounded, seeing my parents cuddling beside me. I don’t know what to do that time but I couldn’t lift my voice up to speak. What should I say?

‘Appa, can you not do that when I’m around?’

I then became shy. At five, I had my own room and it wasn’t so bad sleeping on my own. I always told myself I am not scared anymore and I’m a big boy. But I have to admit, there comes a time when I end up sleeping in my Appa and Umma’s room and squeezing myself in the middle and earning a grown from my Appa and my Umma will always had this smile on his lips and starts cuddling me, followed by Appa.

It never changes, the set up I mean, even when I’m a fully grown man at the age of seventeen. It was still the same just like yesterday and for the past years that came. My Appa will always find his way towards my Umma, just like a smooth criminal and my Umma will always be his forever victim.

“You know, Mom, Dad. It’s too early to do smoochy-smoochity right in front of me. It’s gross.”

“C’mon, son. You’ll do it anyway when you find your partner in life someday. But, for now, study hard, ne?”

“You don’t have to tell me that, Dad. That’s my top priority as of now. Anyways, about finding my partner soon, I guess, I will never do it in front of my kids especially crossing over so I can snuggle my wifey.” I stated and both of my parents got their shock of their life. Yeah, they finally know my kept secret now.

“W-what?! Hae~See what you did to our baby’s innocence?! You corrupted it because of your possessiveness!” My mom snapped and slaps my Dad’s shoulder lightly.

“Yah! Hyukkie! I was only doing that out of love! I love you so much, Henry sometimes become a hindrance!” Of course, my dad reasoned out. And, it’s just too cheesy for me to take. eeew.

“’Sometimes’, you say Appa? But that happens all the time!”

“Aish! What’s wrong with showing how much I love you, Hyukkie? Henry, baby, is that even wrong?” My dad then uses his puppy eyes to me and my mom and of course, whether I like it or not, it will always work out.

“No, Dad. But it’s too cheesy and over-showy and for me, it was embarrassing to see my parents in action like that. That was supposed to be private, right?”

“ Henry, why are you only telling us all of this now? You should’ve told us earlier so I can tell your Appa not to do that when you’re around.”

“Nah, Mom. It’s okay. As if it was a big deal for me. In fact, I am very happy that my parents love each other very much. And, they love me as much. So, it’s not a big deal for me anymore. I was just jealous when I was little and that I wish I can find someone just like Umma.”

“Ow~ Our baby Henry. Come here and we’ll hug you~”

My dad squealed and before they could crush me tight, I stood up from my chair and ready to take my leave out of the kitchen immediately.

“Ah—I’m going to get late for school. Gotta go! Love you, Mom, Dad! Don’t ever forget that!”

And then I flee, leaving them laughing. I walked out of our house with a big smile on my face.

Well, that’s pretty much of my life as of now. The next chapter would be about mine, of course. Right now, I can conclude that when I came to their (my umma and appa) world, it’s as if their world is complete and couldn’t ask for more.

So, thank you God for giving me such wonderful parents who loves me more than anything in this world. I am so grateful and will always be grateful for that. And then, I will make sure that they won’t ever regret about having me as their child.
