“Where are we going?” Hyorin yawned, still a bit tired. She’d stayed up late talking to her beasts about her fathers and asking advice about the beasts that she still wasn’t on good terms with. All in all, it had left her with only a few short hours of sleep before N showed up asking her if she wanted to go out.

“You’ll see,” N grinned, taking her hand and interlacing their fingers.

Hyorin couldn’t help but blush. Not just because she might – might being the key word here because she wasn’t really sure – have a bit of a crush on the invisibility demons. She also blushed because the other people out that morning gave them looks. Hyorin could hear them whispering about how the pair looked like a cute couple and she wanted to pull away, point out that they weren’t but a little voice in her head also spoke out saying that it kind of liked being referred to as N’s girlfriend. Add in that she might – again she wasn’t really sure what she was feeling – also have crushes on the rest of the VIXX demons, and Hyorin was left with a jumble of feelings that confused the heck out of her.

“Is anyone else coming along?” Hyorin couldn’t help but ask, “I mean, with Jr, Mark, and Youngjae still around……we need to be careful.”

“Leo is keeping watch from the sky,” N assured her, “if anything happens, he’ll be right there to help.”

N felt a little hurt that Hyorin would want the others to come along, but he could also understand why she would ask. She’d seen him after his fight with Jr and he had Hyuk there to help him that time. Now he was alone. Logically, it made sense for her to worry about the enemy attacking and N not being able to help. What would happen if it was just them and Jr showed up? Hyorin would end up fighting alone and could get hurt. Even worse if he brought the others along.

“Alright,” Hyorin nodded, relaxing a little now that she knew that they would be able to defend from any attack.

She didn’t doubt N’s strength, but every time she thought of him fighting she recalled his condition after the last fight. Jr had beaten him so badly, there had been so much blood. For a moment there, she’d even thought that he was dead. N wasn’t the only one to get over protective, she wanted to keep him out of fights just as much as he wanted to keep her out of harm’s way.

“Here we are,” N smiled, leading Hyorin into a restaurant, “first stop of the day. Breakfast.”

“First stop?” Hyorin question, wondering once more what N had planned.

“Yeah,” N nodded, “order whatever you like, I’ve got the money to pay for it.”

Hyorin did as told, but N could tell she felt a little bad about it. It was N’s money and she felt he should spend in on things he liked, things he wanted. Not on her. N seemed to pick up on this feeling and was quick to assure her that it was fine, that he wanted to spoil her a little bit. Besides, he’d told her, if she wanted to pay him back she could do it by talking to him, providing him company.

“Should we get something for Leo?” she asked as they were finishing their meal, “I’m sure he’s hungry.”

“He’s already got something,” N laughed, pointing to the other side of the restaurant where the heat demon was just finishing up his own meal.

“How didn’t I notice that before,” Hyorin muttered to herself. Sure Leo was quiet, but this……not noticing him was a first.

“So,” N laughed, “want to go to our next location?”

“Alright,” Hyorin nodded, taking the hand that N offered her.

The next location turned out to be the park. Hyorin smiled, thinking of all the warm memories the place held for her mother and fathers. Like when her father Lay turned into his beast form and let her mother ride him around for a few hours. Or the Christmas when Suho, Sehun, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Chen performed for her mother and uncles. The whole place was filled with memories like that, making it one of Hyorin’s favorite places in the city to go.

With the enemy breathing down her neck, she hadn’t gotten as many opportunities to come. And when she did, she was pretty much always being followed by no less than four demons, all of whom spent the time looking around like they expected an attack to come at any moment. Believe it or not, that made enjoying herself pretty darn hard. Heck, their paranoia made her spend more time looking around to make sure everything was still good.

“I know you like it here,” N smiled, pulling Hyorin from her thoughts, “so I thought that this would be a good place to bring you. We can just walk around if you want. Or do you have something you want to do.”

“Walking around is fine,” Hyorin smiled, heading off with N , “maybe we’ll find the place Lay appa took mom riding.”

“I know where that place is,” N told her, “Hyuk and I…..well, we were, um, assigned to follow your mother that day.”

“Can you show me?” Hyorin asked, deciding to ignore the reason why N knew.

It wasn’t his fault that his former masters had wanted him to follow her mother, so why even address the matter? Maybe later, when they were home, she’d ask if it bothered him and assure him that everything was fine. But at that moment she just wanted to see one of the places where her mother had gone on a date with one of her fathers.

“This way,” N said, taking her hand and leading her to the location, “maybe you can come back some day with Hyuk. I mean, if you wanted to try riding. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you asked.”

“Maybe,” she nodded, “but this place is where mom and Lay appa came. It’s their special place and I don’t feel right coming here to do the same.”

“I’m sure they wouldn’t mind either,” N smiled, “I think that it might even make the place more special because their daughter came here with someone she cares about to do the same.”

“Yeah,” Hyorin nodded, looking away with a blush.

When N said things like that, it made her feelings even more confused than they already were. Maybe she needed to sit down with Yong Guk and ask him for advice.

A/N: looking it over, it’s not the most dialog heavy chapter in the world is it? hahaha that’s fine by me. So long as the chapter is great, so long as you guys like it, the amount of dialog doesn’t matter. Also, several references this chapter to ‘My Twelve Guardians’. Hahaha been a while since I wrote that one. I finished it a year ago this March and wow……that takes me back. I think my writing has improved since then (well, I hope it has). Well, at the very least the length of my stories are longer (Guardians was 50 chapters long, plus an epilogue, and Trusting Demons is……well we just hit chapter 51 and we’ve got a lot more to cover so…….) hahahahaha
