Chapter 3

Roses

            It was how I pictured my dream wedding to be. I walked through a small path that led to a secluded area facing the sea. The path I walked through was made of old stones with red roses were scattered all over the ground. I was smiling like an idiot as I reached the end of the path. Tears started to form in my eyes as I saw Jungsu in a white tuxedo. He was standing near a gazebo decked to the brim with red roses. It was an open air wedding near a cliff by the sea. Behind my future husband was the beautiful blue ocean as blue as a precious sapphire. My uncle came towards me and took my hand. I smiled up at him in gratitude. Ever since my parents had died in a plane crash when I was 7 my uncle had taken me into his care. He loved me like his own daughter. My hands started to shake as I saw the faces of my friends and colleagues looking at me happily as I made my way to the altar. I was praying real though hard hoping that I wouldn’t slip and fall down. I was mentally cursing myself now for letting my cousin Sunny pick the shoes that I would wear today.

            “Relax Taeyeon-ah.” My uncle told me.

            I nodded and tried hard to calm myself.  I thought I would lose my balance but thanks to my gown’s long trail I was able to keep my body up. I looked up and met his eyes. My heart seemed to have stopped beating and all my worries earlier had vanished into the blue as he took my hand.

            “You ok?” he asked and I nodded. I was ok now that he was with me.

The priest started the ceremony and tears started to form in my eyes every onw and then. I was brought back to reality when I heard Jungsu say.

            “I Park Jungsu take thee Kim Taeyeon as my lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, from this day forth, for better, for worst, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in happiness and in sorrow until death do us part.”

            He looked like an angel as he beamed at me and slipped the gold ring on my finger. My voice trembled as I said my vows.

“I Kim Taeyeon take thee Park Jungsu as my lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold, from this day forth, for better, for worst, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in happiness and in sorrow until death do us part.”
