The Thief Strikes

One Shots Collated

“AHH!” Kevin screamed.

No one came to his rescue. Kevin screaming out loud for absolutely no reason was way too typical. There was Kevin screaming because he saw his own shadow when he was seventeen. There was Kevin screaming because he couldn’t find his Mashi Maro human size soft toy when he was eighteen. There was Kevin screaming because his shampoo ran out when he was nineteen.

“...” Kevin pouted. He tried again. “LIZARD!”

“WHERE!?” Alexander shrieked from his room. He was about five metres away from where Kevin was, but Alexander’s a scaredy cat. Or monkey.

“Kidding.” Kevin whispered under his breath, counting to three.

One, two, three.

“WHERE?! I HAVE A BROOM AND I HAVE AN ELI.” Alexander walked out with Eli in tow. “Do your job, muscleman!”

“Argh, hyung! I was reaching my new high score!” Eli growled as he glared at Alexander. Alexander rolled his eyes cruelly and snatched Eli’s iPhone away, replacing it with a longer and thinner thing. The broom.

An innocent smile.

“I won’t have my iPhone back until that lizard is gone, am I right?” Eli asked even though he knew the answer, turning to Kevin and sending him a death glare. “Where. Is. The. Damn. Thing.”

Kevin blinked innocently back.

“Don’t you blink at me!” Eli warned harshly. “I was so near to my new high score, this better be quick.”

“Okay, okay. There isn’t any lizards. Quick enough?” Kevin sighed.

Eli and Alexander stared at Kevin for the longest second. “WHAT?!”

Eli howled like a werewolf that he vaguely looked like.

Which was very new and interesting. You don’t hear a howl everyday, even weirder that it came from Eli. So Dongho poked his head out of his room, Soohyun ran to where they were while thinking that there was a break-in by an animal, Kiseop flew out with a camera in hand.

“WHERE?! WHERE IS THE DOG?” Kiseop snapped away with no real focus.

“What dog? It’s a wolf!” Soohyun enlightened Kiseop, before turning pale. “WHERE’S THE WOLF!?”

“Kiseop-hyung, your pictures will all turn out blur.” Dongho notified monotonously.

“Oh.” Kiseop looked surprised. He fiddled with his camera and looked like he was going through the photos he was taking. “Wahahaha! Kevin, you look like you’re the female lead of a horror movie! Alexander’s disfigured! Hahaha! Sorry Eli, you’re not even in it, hahaha!”

They all stared at Kiseop who was cracking up on his own. It’s okay, Kiseop has his moments. Soohyun’s ones were worse, he hits people while laughing.

Ouch.

Dongho was the first to bring them back to reality. “What happened, anyway?”

“My favourite lip gloss, the one with natural colour! I only used it once but now it’s GONE! DISAPPEARED! POOF!” Kevin faked a faint for dramatic effect.

No one was there to catch him.

“HEY!” Kevin whined as he got up from the floor, rubbing his head that hurt a little. “As I was saying, it disappeared! But it can’t have, because I always put it in my pocket and someone must have touched my if he took it! Who molested me today?”

“Maybe you lost it, you’re forgetful, anyway.” Alexander shrugged. “No lizards, you sure?”

“No, I’m not sure.” Kevin immediately replied, knowing Alexander will thus stay on longer, which means lizard-chasing-muscleman would stay too. The rest are pretty curious people, so they should stay. “I don’t lose my lip gloss, not when it’s my favourite! I don’t even share it with you guys so you know how much I treasure it!”

“Well then, the only person who would molest you is Kibum-hyung, who isn’t here.” Kiseop shrugged. “Oh, talking about losing things, I lost my favourite necklace.”

“The shiny shiny one you wear on your neck when there’s no recordings?” Soohyun asked, finally interested.

Kiseop nodded with a cute pout. “I loved it so much! Such a waste. I guess it means I need a new necklace? It took me a long time to choose that one, though.”

Alexander patted Kiseop sympathetically. “I know, you always look at it with dreamy eyes I thought you were weird.”

Soohyun nodded thoughtfully. “Is anyone else losing anything?”

“I lost my closest chance to beat my high score. Thank you very much, Kevin Woo and your lip gloss. And maybe molestor Kibum.” Eli seized his possession back unhappily and locked his room door. Alexander is not allowed to enter.

“I think I’m losing my sanity.” Dongho shook his head, ready to return to his room.

“But Kibummie-hyung wouldn’t...” Kevin cocked his head to a side with a pout, unable to comprehend.

”Oh, you don’t really know.”

-----

Kibum stared at Kevin with the deadest expression he ever had. It was deader than when Kevin gave him a plate and said it was his birthday present when Kevin was fifteen, than when Kevin tripped over himself and fell on Kibum (who was luckily strong enough to stay standing) when Kevin was sixteen. It was also worse than when Kevin jumped on Kibum’s bed and spoiled the offset coils in the mattress of the bed when Kevin was seventeen, than when Kevin nudged Kibum for more attention on him rather than on the new member when Kevin was eighteen. Kevin turned nineteen and this expression shall hold the record of the “Kibum’s deadest facial expression (if it was ever alive)”, and that says a lot.

Kevin gulped.

“I don’t molest you. Whoever gave you that idea?” Kibum stated firmly.

Kevin didn’t have an idea. Was it Alexander? Or was it Dongho? “I don’t know, but I want my lip gloss back.”

“I don’t have it, Kev. Why would I steal it? I would have asked if I really wanted something that girly.” Kibum gave a disgusted face, which clearly offended the prettier boy.

“HEY! Don’t you insult my lip gloss! And that might be exactly why you steal it! You don’t want me to tease you for wanting to try something so girly and good.” Kevin retorted, feeling happy he did his lip gloss justice.

“I didn’t. I didn’t touch you today either.” Kibum pointed out. “I was quietly sitting in my room, reading this book, all was well. But you had to come in, might I add without knocking, telling me that I molested you.”

Kevin immediately felt guilty. He ran out of the room.

“Things are going pretty well...”

-----

The next day, Soohyun shrieked in his manly voice. “It’s gone! Gone! Gone!”

“What’s gone?” Kibum asked from his position at the dining table. Soohyun was the only one not there yet, pacing around wondering where he left the certain thing that was apparently gone.

“My scarf, the one Dongho knitted for me as my last year’s birthday present!” Soohyun exclaimed and ran back into his room.

Dongho sulked, immediately pushing his plate forward, signaling that he doesn’t want to eat anymore.

“Where is it? Where is it? Aish!” Soohyun sighed as he went on all fours to search for the scarf, thinking it might be under the sofa or behind the TV console.

Being the Kevin he is, Kevin stood up and helped Soohyun with the search. He didn’t want Dongho sulking the whole day either, so he dragged Kibum along to help. Alexander saw that as a hint and went to the kitchen and hoped that maybe Soohyun left his scarf there thinking it was the towel for cleaning dishes. Eli felt bad to keep sitting there so he stood and went to the toilet to check. No, it wasn’t his bladder directing his direction.

Kiseop patted Dongho’s head and stayed with him while they look at the members find Soohyun’s scarf.

Soohyun was about to give up, and then he turned his head to Dongho, who looked horribly saddened. He frowned and tried to look around more carefully.

“It’s okay, Soohyunnie-hyung. I’ll knit you another one, don’t bother about it.” Dongho managed a smile, but Kevin still wasn’t convinced. He didn’t like it when Dongho was sad, so he ignored the rest of them and continued his search.

He frowned. It was the third thing lost, right? First it was his, then Kiseop’s and finally Soohyun-hyung’s.

”Heh, they probably would never find out till things are done.”

-----

Eli always bickered with Alexander because the latter was always too nosy, too noisy, too whatever-else-he-already-is. However, this was the first time U-KISS saw Eli yell at Alexander.

“Give it to me, this ain’t funny.” Eli threw the nearest thing, a pillow, at the oldest member.

“What’s the problem?” Kibum demanded as soon as Soohyun dragged him out of his room to control the situation. Kiseop tried to stop Eli from throwing more things at the poor oldest one who looked really perplexed.

“I didn’t do it! Anything! Everything! It wasn’t me!” Alexander exclaimed, cowering in fear. Dongho crouched down beside him and put his arm over Alexander as some kind of protection.

“No one else touches it, except you!” Eli groaned at Alexander’s denial, and pushed Kiseop away before throwing the next nearest thing at the Alexander.

“Ouch!” Kevin whined as he landed in front of Alexander and Dongho.

He was the next nearest thing.

“What’s the damn thing?!” Kibum shouted and all heads turn to him. “And whoever said you could throw Kevin around like a freaking doll?!”

“It’s my iPhone, and only Alexander snatches it from me. It has to be him!” Eli pointed a finger at Alexander with icy cold eyes, formalities at the back of his mind. “I would pretend I’ve forgotten everything if you get it out now. Return it!”

“I only snatch it when I have a motive! I don’t have any! There aren’t any bugs!” Alexander defended himself. Dongho and Kevin nodded furiously along.

“Then where the heck is it?!”

“It must be the thief!” Soohyun said intelligently. “The thief has been stealing a whole lot of things that are precious to us...”

Eyes fell on Alexander, Kibum and Dongho.

“Come on boys, let’s analyse this.” Alexander suddenly said, eyes staring at someone...

”Uh-oh, let’s hope Xander-hyung isn’t too smart today.”

-----

Kibum groaned. Everyone has been treating him like a plague, keeping their distance.

Even Kevin.

Apparently, smarty Alexander had came out with a conclusion :

The first thing to be stolen was Kevin’s lip gloss. No one else is affected. Suspect would be Kibum, who has easy access to Kevin’s jeans pockets.

The second thing to be stolen was Kiseop’s necklace. No one else is affected. Suspect would be Kibum, who complimented the necklace before and tried it on once, saying that he really liked it.

The third thing to be stolen was Soohyun’s scarf. Dongho is affected. Suspect would be Kiseop, who is the only one that hasn’t got a scarf from Dongho yet.

The fourth thing to be stolen was Eli’s iPhone. Alexander is affected. Suspect would be no one, because everyone has their own iPhone already.

Judging from the victims and whoever else is affected, Kibum is easily suspiscious. Since he is also the suspect for two of the things, everyone decided that he was the thief. He swore he didn’t have any of those things, but the members decided that since he wanted to keep those precious items of theirs, he deserves to be ignored.

Things didn’t get any better when Alexander lost his headphones. It wouldn’t have been a big thing if he didn’t just buy it and it didn’t cost 5 million won.

“All right Kibum, return it to me.” Alexander asked tiredly. “I’ll use my tools if you don’t.”

Kibum allowed himself two seconds to be amused by thoughts of whatever tools Alexander might have. He kept his straight face and rolled his eyes. “I didn’t do it.”

Alexander sighed. He really didn’t want to do this.

He placed a pretty-faced doll before the younger man.

“Kibummie-hyung~!” Kevin called out sweetly and blinked his eyes prettily. Twice.

“What?” Kibum raised his eyebrow. Was Kevin the tool Alexander was talking about?

“Return my lip gloss to me?” Kevin flashed his amazing smile and got hit on his head. “Ouch! Okay, okay! And Alexander-hyung’s 5 million won headphones.”

“I don’t have them, Kevin.” Kibum shook his head and walked away.

Kevin and Alexander looked at each other and sighed. They weren’t going to get anything back.

”Not so fast, boys. The time will come, eventually.”

-----

Dongho cried and made a mess in the dormitory. Kibum’s clothes, pillows, blankets, whatever else he had were strewned across the dormitory.

“RETURN MY TEDDY TO ME!” Dongho pounced on Kibum as soon as he appeared. Kiseop and Soohyun tried to get hold of Dongho while Alexander looked at the mess and sighed.

“Kibum-ah, do it. You know how much magnae loves that teddy.” Soohyun gently encouraged. “It’s fine for all of us but Dongho’s even crying, so please?”

“Okay, this is getting out of hand. Because Alexander-hyung said so, I became the thief? I already said it many times, it isn’t and would never be me!” Kibum glared at Soohyun, before angrily picking a few of his clothes and then walking into his room.

Not forgetting to shut the door loudly.

“He’s angry! He’s angry!” Kevin sounded like an alarm clock, repeating himself at every two second interval.

Soohyun started pacifying the youngest member while the rest except Kevin packed Kibum’s belongings neatly. Alexander felt bad for being the one blaming Kibum, but he kept quiet and chose to turn his words into action by being the neatest one. Eli moved quietly towards the bathroom and took out cotton wools for the members to stuff their ears, because Kevin was horribly noisy.

”This is a bad idea?”

-----

It was finally Kibum’s turn. It just had to be when every other member has gone out except for him and Kevin, who were left at home.

“Damn it, where is my underwear?” Kibum cursed under his breath. He closed his closet’s door and walked out of his room, finding Kevin on the sofa watching...Powerpuff Girls?

Kevin noticed the incredulous stare at him. “THE REST ARE GORE, I HATE GORE, REALLY!”

“Okay, relax. Erm, do you have underwears to spare me?” Kibum asked awkwardly.

“What?! Don’t you have your own?” Kevin looked disgusted by Kibum’s question.

“Well, the thief decided to steal all my underwears.” Kibum rolled his eyes. “A ert, if you ask me.”

“Aren’t you the thief? What kind of joke is this?” Kevin raised an eyebrow, unconvinced.

“Kevin Woo, this is the last time I’m gonna say this. It. Wasn’t. Me.” Kibum’s glare made it easier for Kevin to believe the older man.

“Okay, okay...Then...you can go take Soohyun-hyung’s or something.” Kevin suggested. “It’s weird to lend you one of mine. It’s...dirty.”

“You’re the only one here who I can ask for permission from. Why is it dirty? You don’t wash them?” Kibum raised an eyebrow. “Ew?”

“NO! You! You wearing it becomes dirty.” Kevin pouted. “Nothing in the laundry bin at all?”

“I’m not going to re-wear anything in the laundry bin.” Kibum said sternly. “And me wearing it becomes dirty? Why the heck is that?”

“You...watch ! Who knows what happens to your body...it’s...ew, don’t make me go there, I’m watching Bubbles.” Kevin shifted away from Kibum, although Kibum wasn’t on the sofa. Whatever, the further the distance, the better. He noticed the glare he was given. “Ahhh, fine. You can take one, just...just throw it away after that.”

Kibum growled at Kevin, but followed the younger when Kevin stood up to take his hand and pulled him into his room. Kevin opened his closet and then the drawer with his underwears, before allowing Kibum to choose any one he wants.

“No! Not that one!” Kevin gasped.

“You said, I quote, “Any one you want.”” Kibum rolled his eyes at Kevin, who was visibly afraid of Kibum’s tone.

“But...but that’s my favourite one!” Kevin sulked sadly. “Okay, fine, you can have it.”

Kibum sighed. “Can you stop picking favourites out of every single thing?”

“Okay! Okay! You can take it! I’m lending my favourite underwear to my favourite hyung, I guess that’s some kind of consolation.” Kevin patted his underwear and passed it to Kibum. “Go wear it. Bye bye, underwear. I’ll miss you!”

Kibum almost fainted.

-----

U-KISS members then gathered together and discussed the thief issue.

“We shouldn’t be holding a big meeting. There’s definitely someone who is lying. We should hold small meetings, you know.” Dongho informed smartly. “Then we can use all the information we know and try to pinpoint who is lying.”

“I say there’s two thief!” Kiseop announced. “Or someone’s lying that they lost something.”

Alexander blinked. “Oh, Kiseop, that’s really smart. We should move in order of importance. That someone should have lost something that isn’t really important.”

Eli took out a pen and paper and started linking names with the items lost.

Kevin – Lip gloss
Kiseop – Necklace
Eli – iPhone
Soohyun – Scarf
Alexander – Headphones
Dongho – Teddy bear
Kibum – Underwears

“Eli is out.” Alexander announced, as Eli striked out his name. “He can’t contact anyone without his iPhone, he has been in agony for days. No thief would be so stupid to do that, and Eli isn’t stupid.”

“Well, thank you for the compliment?” Eli cocked his head to a side.

“Hmm, Dongho’s out.” Kevin said, cuddling Dongho. “Our magnae hasn’t been sleeping well without his teddy bear.”

Everyone nodded.

“Kibum’s out?” Soohyun asked. Everyone else was skeptical. “But he doesn’t have any to wear.”

“Who knows, he might have done that to wear Kevin-hyung’s.” Dongho mumbled, still holding vengeance towards the previously-thought thief.

“Dongho, shush.” Soohyun warned, noticing Kibum’s darkened expression.

Dongho shrugged. “Soohyunnie-hyung is out too. He wouldn’t dare to tell me he lost my scarf.”

Soohyun grinned, happy that Dongho knew that.

“Alexander-hyung’s a show off, he wouldn’t keep his earphones himself.” Kiseop said.

“We’re left with Kevin and you, Kiseop.” Eli informed.

“It must be Kevin!” Alexander blamed. “You already got new lip gloss for yourself. Kiseop’s neck is still bare.”

“NO! IT’S NOT ME!” Kevin shook his head with a frown, looking like he was going to cry. “I can’t live without it, so I went to buy it! It’s not me!”

Dongho suddenly moved away from Kevin. “It makes sense. Hyung was the first to have something stolen. You announce it and then suddenly everyone was losing things.”

“Dongho!” Kevin whined and tugged the younger boy.

“And you’re acting all nice finding Soohyun-hyung’s scarf, trying to get Xander-hyung’s headphones back, being all worried when Kibum-hyung was blamed for Dongho’s lost bear and lending Kibum-hyung underwears.” Eli accused harshly.

“Eli!” Kevin screamed, hurt by the words.

“Really...?” Kibum mumbled more to himself than anyone around.

“Hyung!” Kevin finally allowed the tears that were welling up to fall, stomping into the nearest room and slamming the door shut. This was it, even Kibum didn’t believe him.

“It’s...it’s the first time Kevin’s angry. Did we go overboard in blaming him?” Soohyun bit his lips, feeling bad for Kevin. Kiseop turned to glare at Eli.

“What?” Eli raised his hands defensively. “You do that in courtrooms! Kevin should have defended himself and not run away like a baby!”

Kibum sighed. “Shut up, I’ll go do something. Just know that it isn’t Kevin.”

-----

He was hiding inside the warm blanket when he heard a key turning the lock, unlocking the door. Grabbing the nearest pillow, he got out of his hiding place and aimed at the door.

“Hello, pillow.” Kibum said calmly, catching the pillow with his hands. “Has someone been sad around here?”

Kevin rolled his eyes and got out of the bed as soon as Kibum sat on the opposite end of it. He roamed around Kibum’s room and searched for something to do.

“Pillow, do you have any idea why there is two humans in the room but only one voice?” Kibum commented lamely, staring intently at Kevin’s back.

Kevin smiled at his childish hyung, but made sure his back still looked angry. Somehow.

“And-“

“HYUNG!” Kevin frowned angrily and turned around, his left hand holding something that looked vaguely familiar.

“What’s that?” Kibum cocked his head to a side. “Oh? Lip gloss?”

“MINE!” Kevin jumped on the bed and took Kibum’s bolster to whack him. “Why did you steal it!?”

“I didn’t!” Kibum took the pillow and announced a pillow fight. “It’s a fangift, it isn’t yours!”

“I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS MINE!” Kevin mustered all his strength and pinned Kibum down by straddling him. “See? I pasted my name on it. Kevin Woo!”

“Heh? Doesn’t that plainly mean it’s from your fans?” Kibum raised an eyebrow at Kevin who was inching closer which narrowing his eyebrow at the older man.

“Fans paste stickers of MY FACE and not MY NAME.” Kevin continued leaning downwards. “So you’re the thief afterall?”

“I told you, it’s really a fangift. Okay fine, maybe it isn’t, but I always thought it was.” Kibum explained, fidgeting a little due to the distance between them getting lesser.

“You said you don’t use lip gloss yet now it’s half gone?” Kevin continued doubting.

“I don’t. I eat it, it tastes nice.” Kibum shrugged.

Kiseop rushed in with a shout. “ARGHHHHHHHH- Oops.”

The duo turned to look at the man with a grand entrance with interest, while Kiseop stared back at the couple who were in an awkward position.

“Erm.” Kiseop started, moving towards the couple. He took the lip gloss from Kevin’s hand and helped Kevin put it on his lips in a few seconds. Kibum and Kevin stared weirdly at Kiseop but didn’t have enough time when Kiseop shoved Kevin’s head down and caused their lips to touch. “Have fun eating Kevin up.”

The two stuck in their position and stared into each other’s eyes, before realising something.

“MY FIRST KISS!” Kevin screamed.

Kibum cursed Kiseop for being so Kiseop that it got on his nerves badly. Who in the world would do something as unromantic as pushing someone towards another someone? Oh right, Kiseop.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-“

But then again, maybe Kiseop wasn’t that irritating if he gave Kibum a reason to capture those sweet lips (even without the lip gloss) with his own. Kibum bit down on Kevin’s lips softly (successfully shutting him up in the process) and let his tongue slide across them, tasting the mixed flavour of Kevin and his favourite lip gloss.

Kevin widened his eyes but immediately shut them close, smiling a little in the kiss.

‘You like me too?’ Kevin decided he would ask Kibum that question later.

-----

Kiseop was hiding something behind his back when Alexander saw him. Alexander shook that thought away though, as soon as he saw Miss A performing Breathe.

“Where’s Eli?” Kiseop asked, sitting down beside a hyperactive Alexander.

“Cooking.” Alexander answered simply, following the routine while singing to the song. Kiseop looked mildly amused yet joined the older in the dance.

When the dance was finally over, Kiseop switched channels.

“Hey! Why are you watching Discovery Channel?” Man vs. Wild was showing, and Kiseop saw that Alexander looked uninterested in the contents. Good.

“I found this in Eli’s room.” Kiseop brought out an iPhone.

“Oh? Whose is it?” Alexander blinked. “It looks like mine.”

“No, it’s Eli’s.” Kiseop rolled his eyes. “I also found this.”

“Right. WAIT, THAT’S MY CRAZY-PRICED HEADPHONES!” Alexander shrieked. “Oh baby, I missed you so much!”

Kiseop shrugged. “It’s yours? I heard about it but haven’t saw it. Wow, it’s pretty. Why was it in Eli’s room?”

“I don’t know! Stupid Eli, I might just go and take a knife to stab him with it.” Alexander said but he was really just staring dreamily at his headphones.

“Oh, I found something fun too.” Kiseop grinned as he pressed down on the Pictures button on Eli’s iPhone. “Check out his pictures.”

Alexander blinked once at Kiseop, and once at the phone. “Okay, if you say so.”

There were many pictures of U-KISS as a whole, and Kiseop and Alexander ended up laughing at member’s expression when they were not prepared for the camera.

“There’s so many pictures, but I’d never seen him take them.” Alexander sulked. “But they’re cute.”

Kiseop smirked, continuing his action of sliding his finger across the screen. “Hey, your turn to slide. My finger is burning.”

Alexander’s eyes got wider and wider while Kiseop’s smile got brighter and brighter.

“I’ve reached the end? This can’t be the end! Where’s Kevin’s solo pictures? Dongho’s? Soohyun’s? Anyone’s?”

“There’s only yours, hyung. Apparently, you’re more photogenic than the rest of us.” Kiseop shrugged. “Hey, I found a recording too. It was made three months ago, titled “To Alexander”. I wonder why there’s no “To Kiseop”, but then he’ll kill me if he knows I’ve been going through his iPhone. Here it is, listen to it with your awesome headphones! There’s even him singing!”

Kiseop smiled widely as he saw Alexander melt into a puddle of goo. He switched back to the music channel and cheered.

“SONYEO SHIDAE!”

-----

Dinner was special. Kibum and Kevin started stuffing each other’s mouth with food. Alexander kept picking delicious parts of the fish, chicken and basically every other thing on the table for Eli, while Eli just kept on eating.

“Eat more, you’re malnutritioned!” Kibum nagged and shunned away from Kevin’s chopsticks.

“You aren’t eating at all, come on, ahh~!” Kevin cooed with his own mouth full of food.

“You guys look like a married couple.” Soohyun commented.

“You guys disgust me.” Dongho rolled his eyes.

The duo turned to glare at Dongho. If the scariest member with his piercing glare couldn’t daggers into Dongho’s head, the kindest member with his burning eyes can.

“I said nothing.” Dongho cowered in fear and tugged Soohyun to block those looks.
Soohyun laughed awkwardly at Kibum and Kevin, which caused them to turn away from Dongho to look at each other lovingly before starting the feeding marathon again.

“Eli, eat more.” Alexander smiled shyly.

Eli only nodded, unsure of what to do with Alexander’s sudden shower of attention.

-----

After dinner, Kevin and Kibum volunteered to clean up (it was more of Kevin, but Kibum couldn’t spend a second without sticking next to Kevin anymore) while Alexander pulled Eli away. Dongho told the blood type A duo of the group that he was going to do his homework before going to sleep. Soohyun nodded while Kiseop smiled, telling him to study hard.

Kiseop decided to challenge Soohyun to a game of chess, which Kiseop isn’t good at, but Soohyun has no clue of.

-----

“Kibummie-hyung! Don’t! The kitchen will be in a mess!” Kevin did a cute pout and tried to stop Kibum.

“Leave it, Alexander-hyung will be cleaning it up.” Kibum said evilly. “Right now, I just want to have fun with you.”

“Meh!” Kevin rolled his eyes, grabbing Kibum’s wrist to try and stop him to no avail, deciding to whine instead. “Stop it!”

“You look pretty with foam around you.” Kibum shrugged, even putting some on Kevin’s hair. “Shall I give you a new hairstyle?”

“WAIT! No! Detergent will spoil my hair!” Kevin said, suddenly desperate to get the foam out. “And the dishes are not yet done! Hyung!”

Kibum leaned in as if to ask a question, as if clueless of what he did wrong. Kevin sighed and was ready to just dismiss Kibum since he has always been like that, acting innocent, until he saw Kibum leaning in closer and closer.

“What are-”

The two men’s lips softy met, the younger’s eyes naturally knowing they have to stop staring at Kibum’s beautiful features (there wasn’t much to see in such proximity anyway, he was getting cross-eyed too) and shut themselves tight. Ignoring his soapy hands, Kibum wrapped them around Kevin’s waist (thus soiling the pretty t-shirt) and brought him closer, enjoying how they had gotten so used to kissing each other in less than 60 minutes.

Oh, they would have to have a shower later.

Together.

-----

Alexander and Eli stayed in awkward silence for six minutes and forty nine seconds. Eli had been counting.

Alexander and Eli breathed in at the same time, with eight seconds interval between each breaths. Alexander had been monitoring.

“Do you know what love means?” Alexander said as casually as he could, breaking the silence, ears trying to be as sensitive as possible.

“I don’t get you.” Eli replied in a second. Alexander noted that he breathed in faster this time.

“Love. Eli, don’t you understand English?” Alexander laughed, noticing Eli immediately let out a heavy sigh of...relief?

“Why the sudden talk?” Eli raised an eyebrow, looking around Alexander’s room. “Can I take a seat?”

“Oh yeah, sure.” Alexander nodded. “Eli.”

The resident pigeon looked up expectantly, waiting for the oldest member to speak.

“Do you currently love anyone so much it hurts because you can’t tell that person?”

Eli choked on his breath.

“What’s wrong with you, suddenly choking on air.” Alexander chuckled. “Eli, have you ever like someone and then felt a change of hearts?”

Frowning, Eli stared at Alexander.

“There’s nothing wrong with me, but I think you’re sick. Why are you suddenly talking about this? You have a crush? On who? Kevin?” Eli scratched his head. “Okay, I might look like I have a lot of experience, but I don’t, really. If you have a crush on Kevin, I suggest you either give up quietly or tell him not to get close to you. Kibum-hyung has already beat you to his heart.”

Alexander shook his head. “This is about you, Eli. Not me.”

“I don’t have a crush on Kevin, hyung.” Eli rolled his eyes and stood up. “I think I’m going to bed.”

“No! Argh, fine! Do you still love me or has it changed within three months?!” Alexander shrieked before Eli’s left foot stepped out of his room.

Eli paused, hand still gripping the door knob. “I...I love all of you. It wouldn’t ever change...I mean, you guys are my members and I-”

“Oh.” Alexander looked down at the floor. “Yeah, I love you too, go to bed.”

Eli noticed the crestfallen look on Alexander’s face. And there was something that-

“Is that my iPhone?” Making a turn and taking a closer look, Eli looked at Alexander. “Is this my-”

“Yes. Take it back.” Alexander fell on his bed and got his blankets over his head. “TURN OFF THE LIGHTS.”

Staring at his iPhone, he finally understood. It was the reason why he didn’t like Alexander touching his phone. Not bothering asking any questions, he pulled the blankets off Alexander and hugged him tight.

“I thought you- I’m sorry. I love you, a lot. It hasn’t change, it wouldn’t change.”

-----

Kiseop won. All the games. Because he moved his bishop horizontally and vertically, let his king move like a queen, and made his rook jump over his pawns. Soohyun didn’t know.

“Ah, chess is so complicated.” Soohyun sighed after six losses. “I think I’m going to bed.”

Kiseop nodded with a victorious smirk, happy that he won (he had no idea he mistook his rook for a knight, thinks bishops are rooks and a king should be a king by being able to move everywhere). “Okay, check if Dongho’s asleep, it’s bed time already.”

“Oh, right. Thanks.” Soohyun smiled, walking towards Dongho’s room.

-----

Dongho turned to his left. Ah, it felt better. But only for a minute. He tried turning to his right. Nope, something felt wrong. He decided to let his stomach face the bed, chin resting on his pillow.

It still didn’t work.

Soohyun tiptoed into the dark room lighted thanks to the door opening, and Dongho immediately sat up.

“Still up?” Soohyun whispered quietly, in case Dongho had been sleeping and his voice turns out too loud for Dongho’s ears.

“I can’t sleep, hyung.” Dongho’s voice quivered. “I’m really tired, but I can’t sleep without teddy, hyung!”

Soohyun sighed. “Kevin wouldn’t steal your teddy, you know it. Kibum didn’t either, he wouldn’t let Kevin be blamed. Why don’t I buy you a new bear tomorrow? Will that help you sleep?”

Dongho looked like he was about to cry. “Teddy’s special! Don’t replace teddy with another teddy! It’s different!”

“Okay, okay. I won’t. Tell you what, I’ll check every single spot in the house tomorrow. Today, I’ll be your bear, okay? You have school tomorrow, Dongho. You have to sleep now.” Soohyun soothed, and Dongho immediately brightened up, scooting over to give Soohyun space. Soohyun smiled and walked to the door to close it, before walking in the dark to Dongho’s bed. “Go to sleep.”

Dongho nodded against Soohyun’s arm, his own coiling around Soohyun’s waist, pulling him closer. Dongho brought his right leg up to hook onto Soohyun’s thighs, head shifting onto Soohyun’s chest.

“You’re not as fluffy as teddy, but you’re warmer.” Dongho giggled. “I like teddy-hyun!”

Soohyun laughed awkwardly. So this is how Dongho sleeps every night? Soohyun couldn’t move, not wanting to alarm the boy that was drifting off to teddy land, but the contact made him uncomfortable. The problem is, he likes Dongho, in a not-so-friendly-but-maybe-way-too-friendly way.

Did Dongho hear his erratic heart beat?

Kiseop logged into his private diary online. Nope, it wasn’t his cyworld. That was for U-KISS’s Lee Kiseop. This private diary was for matchmaker Lee Kiseop. Ever since he met U-KISS during their Not Young debut, he knew he saw something fishy between the most obvious two members, Kevin and Kibum. After he joined, he found out why their relationship was so fishy.

No, it’s not because Kevin’s a fish.

The two were always so touchy around each other, and Kibum could probably Kevin and act as if nothing happened. Kevin wouldn’t mind, neither would Kibum. He was amused that the other members thought nothing of it, crediting it all to Kevin’s affectionate personality.

Nope, that was a false front. Kiseop had been testing Kevin, and he backs away from all his touches, quietly telling him “That’s enough” when the cameras are rolling, totally walking away from him when it’s just them. Kibum would be glaring at him when he’s around, but Kiseop would just shrug and laugh. He had a dumb image in U-KISS, they’ll forgive him.

But really, he wasn’t dumb. He just chose not to say anything about everything.

He clicked “New Entry” and started recollecting what happened before dinner.

I was standing outside Kibum-hyung’s room, waiting for something spectacular to happen. Everyone decided to leave the cheer-Kevin-up mission to Kibum and do their own things. I needed to know if my plan worked, so I followed quietly.

I waited for a few minutes, and Kevin already found his lip gloss. Heh, that adorable kid is so fast, not bad.

“Fans paste stickers of MY FACE and not MY NAME.” I remember snickering at Kevin’s emphasis. “So you’re the thief afterall?”

“I told you, it’s really a fangift. Okay fine, maybe it isn’t, but I always thought it was.”

Because you’re dumb! Yay for technology! If Kibum-hyung sees this, I will cease to exist. Must. Delete. History.

“You said you don’t use lip gloss yet now it’s half gone?”

Kevin’s bright and smart. Unlike his incorrigible to-be-during-then-but-currently-in-an-official-relationship boyfriend.

“I don’t. I eat it, it tastes nice.”

Okay. This was it. This is leading to nowhere at all. Impatiently, I rushed in.

“ARGHHHHHHHH- Oops.”

To see Kevin on top of Kibum. They looked at me, so I looked back at them. I...tried to smile.

“Erm.” I said, suddenly having a very smart idea. I helped Kevin put on his lip gloss (I squeezed a lot, nevermind the waste, Kibum-hyung should than- he didn’t thank me! Argh.) within seconds. I don’t know where I got the speed, but I like being fast. ^^ So anyway, I just pushed Kevin’s (that bullyable kid’s) head down and HAH. They kissed.

“Have fun eating Kevin up.”

I ran away after doing my good deed, hearing Kevin scream after that. None of my business anymore. Too bad for Kibum-hyung if he doesn’t do anything. Now for Alexander, I thought, so I went to get Eli’s iPhone from my locked drawer (yes, it has Kibum-hyung’s underwear too. Ew, I’m glad they’re clean.)

I have been checking every single thing on Eli’s iPhone since the day I took it without his permission. NO, I refuse to say I stole it. I only took it without permission, I’m not a thief! ㅠㅠ Have to say I found quite some interesting things that Alexander might want to see. Oh, these two are no joke either.

Kiseop smiled at his post as he continued typing, memories of constantly seeing how Eli moves away from Kevin to sit with Alexander flowing in. Not that Kevin minded, neither does Alexander, because the next moment, Kibum would be taking Eli’s spot and letting Kevin place his head on the older’s shoulder. Eli likes a happy and loud atmosphere, something that strikes to him as cheerful and bright, which is how Alexander makes it. Ranting on and on about the weirdest thing like the display he saw at the mart, to the funniest thing like seeing a girl group member trip over herself and then trying to act as if nothing happened, Alexander just cannot stop talking.

Kiseop found it annoying, but Eli seemed to find joy in hearing words literally pouring out of Alexander’s mouth.

At the moment, Kiseop knew. Love isn’t blind.

Love is deaf.

Eli was being the nicest person, since even Kevin’s patience had its limits (and he has to quickly go help Kibum with his back. Apparently it hurts a lot, so Kevin has been giving him regular massage. Kiseop thinks it’s an excuse, but the couple doesn’t care, so he chose to shut up.) and couldn’t stand Alexander’s mouth. But Alexander was awkward around Eli, constantly stopping halfway in his magnificent speech to find out that Kevin was gone.

“Oh. Sorry, I thought Kevin was still here.”

Eli didn’t understand, Alexander would speak in broken paragraphs in front of him because he’s tongue-tied, because the most talkative member falls down in front of his love.

Eli didn’t understand, but that’s okay.

Kiseop was there to rescue them.

The current time is 11p.m., quite early compared to other days, but Dongho has school. I think he’s asleep, Soohyun-hyung probably stayed in there to help Dongho with his sleep. Have to go check on them, kekeke...

-----

Kiseop tiptoed into Dongho’s room with two mysterious things in hand. Not turning on the lights and only using the lights from outside of the room to help him see, he sleathily inched closer towards the couple on the bed.

Lightly, he placed one of the mysterious thing on the top left hand corner of Dongho’s bed. The teddy bear was now looking down at the couple.

Trying to be as careful as possible, Kiseop raised Dongho’s head by holding his chin up, trying to be as gentle as possible so Dongho wouldn’t wake up. Thankfully, the two of them were heavy sleepers. Maybe it’s a Shin thing.

Slowly, he moved Dongho’s body upwards so he was closer to Soohyun’s head. Dongho stirred a little, and Kiseop immediately fell to the floor for cover. After a few seconds of heart-pounding suspense, he got up again and saw that Dongho moved himself closer towards Soohyun.

“Great.” Kiseop smiled, having lesser to do.

Pushing Soohyun’s head downwards, the two had their lips pressed together. Kiseop then put his hands together twice as some sort of noiseless clapping, before using the other mysterious thing to hold them in that position.

The scarf.

Going around both their necks twice and then tightening it, Kiseop made a dead knot. The scarf was thick enough so untying it would be pretty easy. He smirked, taking a picture of the scene (with flash, but the two were heavy sleepers).

“Goodnight, sleep well, sweetest kissing dreams.” Kiseop chuckled softly before running off, not forgetting to close the door behind him.

-----

Kiseop forced himself to wake up early. The early bird catches the worm, the early member catches the best scenes.

He jumped out of bed and without knocking, he went into Kibum’s room with his camera.

The sunlight made it perfect for him to not even use flash, capturing the moment of bliss where his two members were in a mess of tangled limbs (thankfully in clothes) and their blankets thrown to the floor (by them). He chuckled evilly to himself, reminding himself that he could sell these pictures online and earn a small fortune probably.

Then he continued to enter Eli’s room, where the two foreign members were sleeping peacefully. Would have seem normal if Kiseop didn’t step in closer and noticed the covers werehigher around Alexander’s body, which meant Eli’s arms were there. Not very scandalous, but a picture was taken nevertheless.

He hesitated outside Dongho’s room, afraid that Dongho was already awake since he has to go to school. Then again, the Shins have something for being very lazy and not so much of a morning person. He walked into the youngest’s room and found the two in the same position he left them last night.

Grinning and now not needing the flash, he took a higher quality picture.

This definitely could sell.

-----

Soohyun was the first to wake up. Erm, between the two lazy bums. The others were all awake and none of them wanted to enter the room. Kevin gasped. Kibum pulled him away. Alexander widened his eyes. Eli rolled his. Kiseop faked a horrified expression and stood rooted to the ground. No one brought him to the breakfast table.

Soohyun wanted to yawn, but he realised there was something dry against his lips. Weird, when were blankets so dry? Suppressing the yawn, he blinked his eyes open and waited for his vision to adjust to the morning sun.

His heart skipped a beat at Dongho’s adorable sleeping face, and he smiled faintly at the younger boy. He found himself getting cross-eyed and realised Dongho was a little too close. Just a little.

And then he found out the something against his lips were another pair of lips.

Not wanting to scare the younger boy lest he wake up and find himself kissing an older member, Soohyun immediately jerked backwards, pulling Dongho forward.

As the magnae of the group stirred awake, Soohyun panicked and tried to move himself further backwards, only to continuously pull Dongho along.

“Mm...” Dongho hummed, bringing his hands up to rub his eyes open, frowning a little when his pinky felt human skin.

And his lips.

Dongho wasted no time and opened his eyes in a second, and the both of them ended up staring at each other, unable to speak a word. Soohyun wanted to bite his own lips due to his lack of knowledge as to what to do and accidentally bit Dongho’s too.

“Sorry!” Soohyun quickly apologised, hands flying up to his neck, trying to find a way out of the thing binding them together. Dongho tried to help, tugging and pulling.

They finally got it out.

“I swear I don’t know what happened.” Soohyun immediately raised his hands as if to prove his innocence. “Oh look. This is the scarf you gave me!”

Dongho turned to the scarf and smiled. “It really is! It’s back!”

“And your bear! Your bear! It’s there!” Soohyun cheered, causing the younger one to look around frantically for his prized possession.

“BEARRRRRRRRR!” Dongho squealed. He spent a minute cuddling with his bear before standing up and looking shyly at Soohyun. “Where did this appear from? Why did we wake up...like that?”

“I don’t know.” Soohyun widened his eyes. “It really isn’t me.”

“Oh.” Dongho disappointed pouted. “I shall go...go brush my teeth then.”

“But-But it must be a fairy godmother’s work or something.” Soohyun gave a soft smile and pulled Dongho towards him, into an embrace. “She must know that...that I love you.”

“Really?” Dongho’s face quickly brightened up. “Oh gosh, I-I don’t know what to say! I mean, yes, I’ve been dreaming about these days and practising my lines, but I never thought you would say fairy godmother! Gosh, am I Cinderella? I don’t know what to say!”

“Just tell me you love me too.” Soohyun grinned.

“Prince Charming, I love you too.” Dongho squealed. “Give me my glass slippers~!”

Soohyun picked up the teddy bear and stuff it between the two of them. “Modern Cinderella happens with a teddy.”

“I LOVE TEDDIES!” Dongho nodded happily. “I love Soohyun too. And we’ll live happily ever after~!”

“If you go to school.” Soohyun concluded. “Let’s get your teeth brushed pearly white now. Cinderella was never late for school!”

Dongho frowned with a cute pout, all ready to protest. He let Soohyun carry him (with teddy) to the bathroom though.

“Cinderella never goes to school!”

-----

The power vocal and magnae couple were late for breakfast, but no one said a thing because they saw what the two were doing that morning. The three couples were basically stuffing food in each other’s face, and everyone got back their belongings, all was well.

“I forbid you to bring that hand close to me if not to touch, hold or anything intimate. All food should go into your mouth.” Kibum said sternly.

“Eat slowly. You might be late, but I don’t want you to suffer indigestion.” Soohyun ruffled Dongho’s hair lovingly. The youngest didn’t even flinch, something he usually does because hairstyles have the importance of a second life to a celebrity. “And eat more. Boys going through puberty need all the food they can get.”

“I’ll make you a second serving!” Alexander jumped up with a wide smile.

Kiseop silently applauded himself. Seems like none of them remembered there was a thief around here. He can continue playing cupid then.

He smirked, sleathily wearing his necklace.

And they lived happily ever after (or so Dongho and Kevin would like to think).

Chapter 27: I was going to get a heart attack when I Found out your new chapter, and the fact that you mentioned the departure of DongHo moved me things,it was hard but just like kevin I wasn't surprised, in fact, I was kind of expecting that u,u (and well, after kemaru, my second favorite couple here is 2shin, so yeah e_e)anyway, I wish him the best, and he will be part of ukiss forever, just like xander and KiBum. our loved maknae.

talking about your story, it was just too well as ever, I loved the title "Resignation", and Kevin fits it too well, he's not a kid anymore, he's a man and he knows how the idol world works, so yeah, maybe Resignation. I like the humor here, is somehow funny in an angsty way lol

I'm glad to read that, we miss you here :) this world needs more kemaru and good fics x)haha but also, I wish you the best with all your Exams, fighting! n_n
