6 reasons why Kibum and Kevin are undeniably U-Kiss' parents.

Reason #1 : They deal with morning troubles. Together.

“Dongho-ah! Donghoooooooo!” Kevin cooed as he ruffled Dongho’s hair, rubbed his back and patted his . “Are you still going to sleep?”

Dongho didn’t reply, eyes still shut tight, body still lying straight.

“Kibummie-hyung! Dongho’s not waking up!” Kevin whined and stood up to find the older man.

“Minute, minute! I’m solving a fight over here.” Kibum growled and glared at the other foreign two. “Pillow fights are BANNED in the dormitory. Go brush your teeth right now or I’ll punch them all out.”

“When are pillow fights banned!? Unfair!” Alexander pouted, fighting back the second Eli whacked him.

“ELISON KIM, ALEXANDER LEE EUSEBIO.” Kibum repeated sternly and got into fighting stance.

“Go now, go brush your teeth.” Kevin pointed to the bathroom, the other hand on Kibum’s shoulder to calm him down somehow. “Pillows to me.”

“Thanks.” Eli said as he threw the pillow at Kevin, which Kibum caught before it could hit Kevin.

“ELI.” Kibum gritted his teeth, but rolled his eyes when the other quickly ran into the bathroom for shelter.

“Dongho now?” Kevin sighed as he exited Alexander’s and Eli’s room, stopping only when Kibum held him back.

“He’s easy, let’s get Kiseop and Soohyun-hyung up first.” Kibum suggested, pulling Kevin towards the two sleeping pigs.

Kevin knelt down on the floor to remove Kiseop’s sleep mask, pinching his cheeks lovingly before shaking the slightly older member awake.

“Ije wake up wake up wake up wake wake up!” Kevin sang as he shook the other member slightly more violently.

“Kevin, just kick him.” Kibum shook his head at how Kevin was being so gentle. “He wouldn’t wake up if you just shake him.”

“Noooo! That’s very evil.” Kevin pouted cutely, and Kibum could only sigh.

Kibum stepped up onto Soohyun bed and told Kevin to move away as he kicked Soohyun’s body down the bed. Soohyun landed not too graciously on Kiseop, causing both of them to wake up instantly.

“Ouch.” Kiseop yawned as he rubbed his hand that Soohyun landed on. “Get off me, hyung. Did you sleepwalk or something?”

“Mmm.” Soohyun replied, head not very clear early in the morning.

Kibum reached out for Kevin’s hand, which the younger happily took, and walked towards the youngest room.

“Dongho-yah, get up.” Kibum strictly ordered, one hand reaching out for the youngest arm to pull up. Dongho tried to crawl away, but Kibum pulled him even more harshly this time and got him to sit up. “Come on, we’ve got schedules later. You can sleep in the van.”

“You guys annoy me in the van.” Dongho grumbled, eyes shut tight as he spoke.

“I’ll shoo them away, all right? Come on, Eli and Xander-hyung should be done in the bathroom, go wash up.” Kevin cooed again, helping the youngest one stand.

“How about you two, finished?”

Kevin and Kibum looked at each other before turning to the youngest one. “Long, long ago.”

Reason #2 : They resolve quarrels. Together.

“I don’t care, I want the super cheesy mega hot dog!” Dongho stomped his feet cutely and pointed at the hot dog on the menu board.

“We only have this much money, we should buy as many hot dogs as possible so everyone gets a bite!” Alexander disagreed, flashing the money.

Dongho made an attempt to snatch the money, but got blocked by Kiseop. “Hyung’s right, don’t be selfish.”

“I can share my super cheesy mega hot dog!” Dongho said and tried to snatch the money again.

“As if you would, you never did.” Eli rebutted, protecting the money with his life. He was hungry.

“You guys are all coming up against me!” Dongho sobbed, wiping his non-existent tear before Kevin.

“All right, don’t gang up against Dongho.” Kevin sighed, though not saying anything about the issue.

Soohyun quietly stood at the side, counting the total amount of money they had. “We can get a super cheesy hot dog and still have enough money for the rest of us to get at least one.”

“I don’t want! I want a super cheesy MEGA hot dog!” Dongho stubbornly insisted.

That got Alexander and Eli pissed off. “Stop being stubborn, just because you’re young doesn’t mean we have to give in to you! Besides, why should he get a super cheesy hot dog and we get normal ones? It just isn’t fair.”

“Yeah, and it wouldn’t get you anywhere if you keep up this attitude even in school.” Kiseop said quietly.

Kevin took a step back and felt a migraine coming. Where was Kibum in this whole thing?

“Are you guys quarrelling again?” Kibum appeared the next second, raising an eyebrow at them all.

“He started it!” Alexander and Eli chorused, pointing at Dongho.

“They’re being mean to me again!” Dongho shook his head furiously and pointed back at them both.

“Dongho was being a little selfish.” Kiseop shrugged, joining Soohyun at the side, which meant he was washing his hands out of the situation.

“I suggested a peace-making decision. Everyone isn’t happy about it.” Soohyun sighed, looking longingly at the menu board.

“Kevin?” Kibum asked, watching the other facepalm.

“I don’t know, my head hurts.” Kevin rubbed his temples before looking back at Kibum, who was waiting for a proper answer. “All right, it’s about the money. We don’t have enough and Dongho wants his super cheesy mega hot dog.”

“How in the world did I know this would happen?” Kibum asked himself and got them to stand at the counter. “Order what you guys want and DO NOT QUARREL AGAIN. I’ve got more money from the manager.”

“Oh gosh, lifesaver you are.” Kevin hugged Kibum tightly from the back and shook his head when the older male asked him if he wanted any hot dogs. He was just happy that the whole issue was over.

Reason #3 : They feed their children. Together.

“Come on, let’s sit down and eat.” Soohyun said, pointing at the empty seats available. The whole group followed Soohyun’s lead and sat down.

Alexander was the first to take a bite from his hot dog, screaming when it was too hot for his tongue. “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!”

“Tsktsktsk. Greedy pig gets scalded~!” Dongho teased, and Alexander pinched his cheeks as revenge.

Kevin tensely watched the oldest and the youngest member, only relaxing when Kibum rubbed his shoulders and smiled.

“They’ll be fine.”

Kiseop left his hot dog on the table and sighed. Kibum nudged for him to eat but the younger male shook his head.

“It’s hot.” Kiseop pouted, and Kevin took the hot dog off the stick, leaving it on the paper bag.

Kiseop and Kibum looked at Kevin curiously as he cut the hot dog into four smaller pieces with the stick, blowing on one of it that he had poked the stick into before feeding Kiseop.

“Is it better?” Kevin asked, smile widening when Kiseop nodded happily.

Soohyun copied Kevin’s actions but frown when his hot dog wouldn’t let him cut it. Kevin laughed at Soohyun before helping him with it.

“You have to do it slowly, you see.” Kevin explained and fed Soohyun a piece after he was done cutting it.

Dongho nudged Kevin to help him, but the other had moved on to help Alexander thus Dongho had to wait. Kibum raised his eyebrows and chuckled, ruffling the youngest hair and offering his help. Dongho immediately grinned, watching as Kibum struggled but managed to cut the hot dog up.

“Eat up.” Kibum said simply and decided to cut up his own hot dog too. After Kevin was done with helping Eli too, Kibum shoved a piece into Kevin’s mouth. “Not bad, eh?”

Kevin only giggled, happily biting another piece when Kibum offered.

Reason #4 : They argue. Together.

“No, you shouldn’t have joke about Kiseop being dumb, even if it’s a joke.” Kevin frowned, suddenly commenting about Kiseop on their way back to the dormitory.

Kibum stared at the younger male before turning to Kiseop. “You know it’s a joke. I know it’s a joke. Fans know it’s a joke. Right?”

Kiseop looked up from organising fan presents they received and gave Kibum a confused look. “Huh?”

“I don’t care! Too much of it can hurt his feelings, you know!” Kevin sighed, giving Kiseop a hug.

“Huh?” Kiseop blinked, staring at Kevin, baffled by the sudden show of affection.

“Kevin, jokes are meant to be funny. Long-lasting jokes stay in people’s mind and it helps fans identify with us. If he’s really dumb, I’ll stop the joke, all right?” Kibum rolled his eyes, and got a pillow coming his way. “Hey!”

“And it’s not only about Kiseop. How about Alexander-hyung looking like King Kong? All these stupid jokes originated from you!” Kevin gave an angry pout.

“Hey! You too!” Kibum left his mouth slightly agape, bewildered.

“Only once or twice! He doesn’t like being compared to King Kong!” Kevin argued back.

Kiseop used his arms to push the two back into their original positions, stopping them from climbing over him to fight with the other.

“And I didn’t forget about you teasing Dongho about texting some girl cheesy things!” Kevin accused, before turning his whole body to face the door, looking out the window with an annoyed face.

“Kevin, you’re an incorrigible idiot that doesn’t think.” Kibum shot back, turning to face his side of the window.

Kiseop sighed.

“I don’t care what you say of me, all right? And don’t you dare sigh at me when you’re the stupid hyung!” Kevin screamed, kicking the seat before him to show how upset he was.

“Hey, I’m driving over here.” The manager gave a deadpanned look.

“Sorry…” Kevin mumbled an apology, grabbing another pillow to throw towards Kibum.

“And isn’t that the whole point? You don’t care what I say of you, and that’s how the other members work too! And I didn’t sigh at you! You’re the one who sighed at me!” Kibum threw back the two pillows that Kevin threw at him, causing the zip of one of them to scratch Kevin’s cheek.

“Ouch!” Kevin cried, rubbing his cheek with tearful eyes. “I hate you! Kim Kibum, I hate you!”

Kibum turned to see Kevin with a red streak across his pale cheeks. He fought back the urge to hug the younger’s head close to his heart, to show him that he really didn’t mean to hurt the younger one. Kiseop tried to tell Kevin he was the one who sighed in reality, but Kevin shook his head and only forced a smile.

“Don’t speak up for that idiot.”

Reason #5 : They got matchmaked. Together.

Kiseop sighed. Kevin spent a lot of time picking out presents that are his because he refused to carry anything from Kibum’s fans for Kibum. Kibum slightly rolled his eyes, carrying whatever he could and mumbling for Kiseop to help Kevin sort the presents if he could.

“I’ll do that.” Kiseop faintly smiled, patting Kibum’s shoulder.

After Kibum left with his hands full, Kevin started throwing a tantrum. “How could he just leave like that! There’s so much that’s still his! I don’t care, I’m not going to take them either then!”

Kiseop sighed, watching Kevin leave with the presents he sorted out. The van still has a lot of presents left.

“I saw Kevin, he was cursing me, mumbling that he wouldn’t take any of the big pile left.” Kibum reappeared, taking another batch of fan presents. “What a girl.”

Kiseop shook his head with a sigh, carrying the rest of the presents back up into their dormitory. On the way up (because Kibum took the stairs in slight annoyance), he told Alexander and Dongho, who were also with armful of gifts, about the situation that happened in the “K Brothers” van.

“THEY are such girls.” Dongho rolled his eyes.

“Shut up, Dongho. I think the two of them are in love.” Alexander wiggled his eyebrows playfully. “I mean, sometimes they’re so lovey-dovey, other times they nag at us, and they even have quarrels that don’t make sense. They’re so married already.”

“They nag at us?” Kiseop raised his eyebrows. “From my memory, you are the definition of the word “nag”.”

“Gosh, you’re so dumb sometimes!” Alexander sighed dramatically and gave a look that said everything was obvious. “How they tell you “Stand there! Don’t move out of the line!” and “Don’t mess up your pronunciation, it makes me cringe.” and “Have you taken the cheesecake? It’s your favourite kind!”.

“You look like a King Kong when you’re mad.” Kiseop chuckled at his own joke, finding the scene a little familiar.

“Oh, will the both of you just shut up?” Dongho groaned. “I can’t concentrate like that.”

“Yeah, concentrate on sending cliché love quotes to your girlfriend. Please? At least do some research if you want to win a girl’s heart with words.” Alexander shuddered at the thought. “Even I can come up with better sentences.”

“Stupid King Kong.” Dongho muttered under his breath, leaving the lift as soon as the door opened.

“YAH! I’m your HYUNG.” Alexander emphasised. “Kids these days, manners all gone.”

“Oh!” Kiseop suddenly shouted. “Kibum-hyung and Kevin were quarrelling about this just now!”

Alexander shook his head and left the lift, leaving Kiseop to blink. “Did I say something wrong?”

Soohyun grinned, entering their “home base”. “I got Kibum’s phone~!”

“And I managed to bother Kevin while Eli stole his.” Kiseop grinned. “I was asking him to help me open a fan gift.”

“Gosh, that’s the lamest way possible.” Dongho frowned disapprovingly.

“Shut up. At least he helped, unlike you.” Alexander chided.

“Oh yeah? Well, let’s see me do the magical work.” Dongho proudly said, snatching both phones.

Furiously pressing the buttons, the hyung-deul looked at Dongho in amusement. Dongho passed the phone back and smirked.

“It’ll do just the job.”

“1 new message.”

“Weird, I didn’t hear the message tone.” Kevin blinked, shrugging as he pressed the button to read the message.

”The most important things are the hardest to say, because words diminish them. But if I don’t tell you this now, I don’t know when’s the next time I’ll have the courage to. What I need to live has been given to me by the earth. Why I need to live has been given to me by you. Kevin, I’m sorry for whatever, and I can only hope that stupid things I did don’t stop you from loving me back. Because yes, I love you, with the whole of my heart. Sender : Kibummie-hyung! ♥”

Kevin sobbed quietly, re-reading the message a little more than twenty times, before running to find Kibum.

“1 new message.”

“I knew it! I knew I had to change phone. Stupid defective phone.” Kibum grumbled, checking his message.

”Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly. I’m sorry for all the stupid blaming that doesn’t make sense, you know how I can be, right? Hyung…I…I love you! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Forgive me pleaseeee? ♥♥♥ Sender : Kev”

Kibum slightly chuckled. “First time he typed Korean so well, silly Kev.”

“Kibummie-hyung!” Kevin appeared and pranced on Kibum, burying his head into Kibum’s chest before crying out loud.

“I love you too, silly boy.” Kibum circled his arms around Kevin and hugged him tighter. “Don’t cry, it’s heartbreaking.”

“But they’re tears of joy!” Kevin sniffed, slightly pulling away. “I didn’t know you were so rom-”

Kibum used his hands to push Kevin down towards him, lips meeting with Kevin’s fuller ones, eyes shut to memorise the feeling. Kibum slightly tilted his head, nose rubbing against Kevin’s nose, deepening the kiss by sliding his tongue across the younger’s lower lip. Kevin’s giggle was swallowed by Kibum’s mouth, his mouth slightly open to let Kibum do as he wish. Starting slow, Kibum Kevin’s upper set of teeth, gently brushing against the younger’s tongue as he the lower set of teeth. Eager to learn, Kevin mimicked Kibum’s action, fighting with Kibum’s tongue for the already limited space.

Amused by Kevin’s competitiveness, Kibum fought Kevin’s tongue back into his mouth, roughly pressing their mouths together that their lips could probably become one if it was even possible. Kibum cupped the younger’s head with a hand and held it in place, while Kevin grabbed Kibum’s arms tightly, squirming slightly in Kibum’s one-arm embrace.

Kevin dug his nails into Kibum’s muscular arms, as if signalling that he was breathless. Kibum then slowly pulled away, forehead leaning against Kevin’s, chuckling.

“I love you, Kim Kibum.” Kevin giggled, gaining himself a peck on his nose.

Reason #6 : They put the hyperactive group to sleep. Together.

“Oh~ I see two humans unusually attached to each other~!” Soohyun sang, obviously knowing what happened.

Kibum only grinned, nuzzling Kevin’ s neck from the back. Kevin blushed, dragging Dongho up from the floor and patted his bottom thrice. “Off to sleep, sweetie.”

Dongho whined, struggling away from Kevin while trying to return to his original seat before the television. Kibum got hold of Dongho’s neck with an arm, giving him a strict stare. Dongho instantly sighed, turning to the direction of his room before stomping off. Kevin giggled, his hands settling on Kibum’s, which was around his waist.

“Now for the older ones.” Kevin turned his head to look at the older male, who only nodded.

“Xander-hyung, you need your beauty sleep, no?” Kibum said, eyes catching Eli yawning. “And Eli, you’re tired.”

“I’m not!” Eli immediately replied, fighting back another yawn.

“Yes, you are.” Kibum insisted. “Off to bed, NOW.”

Eli pouted but finally couldn’t hold back his yawn, thus decided to head to bed, mumbling something like “I can use my iPhone anyway.”.

“No, you cannot! You’ll wake Xander-hyung up! You know how he is, hypersensitive.” Kevin chided lightly, giving the oldest member that was leisurely walking to their bedroom a small push. “I’ll see you two asleep- Okay, I’m not that worried about you two actually. Eli, just know that if you don’t sleep, Xander-hyung will nag at you. You don’t have to believe me. You know it best.”

Eli cursed Kevin for being right, Kibum glared at him. “Okay! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! Who would curse sweet mommy Kevin for real, DADDY?”

Kevin blushed hard at the compliment--new-name. “Off to bed.”

“Yes, mommy. I heard you the first time.” Eli said deadly, and quickly disappeared before Kibum could say a word.

“Soohyun-hyung.” Kevin called out, staring while waiting patiently for the older member to stand up.

Soohyun tried to ignore the two person staring at him and concentrate on the television. Looking to his side, he could tell Kiseop was doing a better job. “Not yet, I know when to sleep.”

“Nope, you’ll wake Dongho up with the volume of the television.” Kevin shook his head firmly.

“Besides, we have schedule tomorrow. Hyung, bed.” Kibum politely ordered, turning to the last member. “Kiseop, bed.”

“But-but- I promise I’ll mute the sound! I can read subtitles! Good?” Kiseop asked expectantly.

Kevin escaped Kibum’s back hug and gave Kiseop a quick hug for being adorable. “I’ll download this show for you, okay? Will you go to sleep then?”

“Aww…” Kiseop pouted, but considered the offer. “I missed the previous episode too.”

“Okay, then the previous episode too.” Kevin agreed with a cute nod.

“Okay then, I shall go to sleep.” Kiseop shrugged, standing up and dragging a very unwilling Soohyun with him. “Hyung, I promise I’ll share.”

Kevin giggled at Kiseop’s words while Kibum chuckled at the younger’s reaction. Kibum then strolled towards Kevin and took him by the waist again.

“Now, shall we?”

Kevin turned and smiled brightly at Kibum. “After we check on them, then we’ll go to sleep.”

“We feel like real parents already.” Kibum commented jokingly, blinking when Kevin turned red. “I was, uh, joking.”

Kevin turned his head and stared wide-eyed at Kibum, causing the older man to quickly retract his words. “Uh, I mean, we can’t have children, but of course we can be these five kids’ parent-like...uh, I don’t know how to complete this mind puzzling sentence.”

“All right, I get you.” Kevin sighed with a secret smile before taking the first step towards Dongho’s room.

They quickly checked on all the members, and then Kibum came up with a plan. Telling Kevin to stand at the side for a while, he carried Alexander and placed the oldest member next to Eli. Kibum then pulled Kevin up on the bed with him, and the younger silently chortled. Kibum gave Kevin’s forehead a quick but deep kiss, whispering “Good night, sweetheart.” to the younger boy and then closing his eyes. Kevin smiled absentmindedly, cuddling closer while resting his head on Kibum’s chest, allowing the rises and falls to lullaby him to sleep.

He timidly whispered back. “Goodnight…hubby.”
