Joon was distant in school, but you knew he was watching you. You weren't used to him strutting the hallways as if they were his, and girls following him everywhere he

want. He was distant and kept to himself.

During gym he would slump against the wall, staring right at you, a sad look on his face. It made you worried.

"Oppa, what's up with Joon? Is he okay?" you asked Cheondoong on Friday. He took a deep breath.

"I'm sure he is. You just have to give him an answer," he said quietly, staring straight into your eyes. "He just needs an answer, okay? He'll be fine."

You nodded in understanding, and decided you'd have to tell Joon at dismissal.

You had a hard time trying to figure out what you were gonna say to him. What was your excuse for saying no?

"Tell him we're going out," Kikwang suggested. "We are, aren't we? We're dating." Junhyung flinched at the last statement and grumbled to himself as he continued to eat his

lunch.

Gym was your last subject for the day, and you decided you'd stay with him and tell him everything. It was hard for you to tell him-- you were starting to like him already,

but not as much as he liked, and possible even loved you. He sat by the bleachers, his hair dripping with sweat. You picked up the basketball on the floor and put it on your

lap as you sat beside him.

"About last time ...Joon, I--"

"It's fine," he said, cutting you off. "You're going out with Lee Kikwang now, right?"

"Yeah, but..."

"Don't worry, I won't stand in your way. I'm moving to America."

You glanced up at him, surprised.

"Dad wants us to be there with him, and he thinks it would be more ...appropriate for me to study overseas and learn how to speak English," Joon smiled half-heartedly at

you. You gulped, sighing as you stared back to the orange ball on your lap, some of your bangs falling to the side, which was helpful in hiding your face, since your eyes were

already teary at the very thought. "Will you miss me?"

No answer. You simply gazed at the ball, tears now falling freely on your cheeks.

"Hey,"he said, lifting up your chin. He gasped at the sight of your tears. "Don't cry. I'm sure Mir will be able to annoy you in my place,"he tried to joke, and you chuckled a

bit. For a moment he was quiet, and soon, you felt his lips press against yours. You froze, not telling him to get off, not shoving him off your body. In a second he pulled away,

and you stared at each other again. He smiled. "Your happiness is my happiness."

And with that he was gone. Out of your life.
