“No, let him go!” Minah screamed, her body being held back by several arms.

A large, murky black hand grasped Kai’s neck tightly, holding his body a few centimetres off the ground. Kai’s body dangled lifelessly and his eyes remained closed. Blood dripped down the side of his head as more blood was added to the pool of red beneath him.

The creature beside him cackled evilly, its gaze never ceasing to leave Minah’s. Big eyes covered in veins glared at Minah’s watery eyes bursting with tears.

“You want me to stop?” the creature roared, its voice echoing faintly.

Minah whimpered and nodded. A huge teethy grin appeared beneath its eyes. Slowly, it raised its hand with nails as sharp as knives. Minah shivered uncontrollably as the hand gradually made its way in front of Kai and paused painstakingly closely near Kai’s stomach

“No,” Minah gasped.

“Yes,” the creature hissed before plunging its nails deeply into Kai.

NOOOOOOO!

Minah’s eyes shot open and her heart pounded furiously in her chest. Her body was covered in sweat and she lay there for a moment before realizing it was all just a nightmare. She didn’t close her eyes for a while, afraid the images would come back. After a while, her eyes began to droop and sleep took over once again.

Minah awoke to the sound of loud footsteps that seemed to make the ground give a small thud every time. Her eyes fluttered open only to see Luhan running around the house in a hurry, papers and his backpack dispersed on the ground. Luhan quickly grabbed the sheets and stuffed them in his bag, crinkling them in the process.

“Mmm…Luhan? “ Minah said quietly, eyes half open.

“Oh Minah! You’re awake!” Luhan exclaimed, looking at her happily. "I left a note on the fridge so read it if you’re hungry. Sorry, I’m late for school!”

Luhan slung his backpack over his shoulders and shoved his feet into his sneakers.

“Bye!” he yelled before rushing out the door.

Minah was left stunned after the door had closed and she was left in silence. The memories of last night crept back and she tried to get it out of her head. She slowly eased herself up, feeling her body ache horribly. Minah sat quietly on the sofa with a frown, before her stomach interrupted the silence with a loud growl. Only then had she realized she was starving since she hadn’t eaten after fainting yesterday afternoon. She began to stand, only to be reminded with tremendous pain that her ankle was hurt. Sighing, she hopped her way to fridge and spotted a small post-it note.

‘Sorry, there’s nothing much to eat since I live by myself,

There’s cereal in the cupboard and milk in the fridge ^^

I’ll be back soon! Don’t miss me too much ;)’

Minah laughed at the adorable note Luhan had left. She opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of milk. Then she opened the cupboard above her and spotted a box of fruit loops. Really? Minah smiled and poured herself a bowl before happily eating the rainbow-coloured cereal.‘He’s such a child,’ she thought, grinning to herself
