Junior writer Park Sandara is in a big pinch. She was initially very excited to finally be able to write her first scenario for her sunbae’s drama. She was designated to write the accidental kiss scene of the two lead characters. This of course is a pivotal moment in the drama that will escalate the lead characters to the next level of their relationship. Truth be told she was ecstatic to receive the task but now that she’s actually trying to write the scene she has no clue how to start it and before she knew it her deadline was already fast approaching. She has until 6 am the next day to submit her script to her mentor so she can decide if it will be used or not in the drama.

Dara decided to go out for some fresh air to clear her mind and maybe to find some new ideas. Since the TV station is just close by she called her friend Junior PD, Choi Seung Hyun to accompany her.

She was sitting by the bus stop still thinking about what to write when a pair of hands covered her eyes.

“Seung hyun-ah, I can still smell the stench of dried squid on your hands,” she blurted as she gently pulled his hands away.

“I was in a hurry. I was having a quick snack with the other PDs when you called. We are pulling an all-nighter for the concept of our next episode,” he explained as he sat next to her.

“I’m having a hard time writing my scenario too,” she muttered. “I mean I’ve waited all my life for this. I’ve always wanted to write for a drama. Now, I’m given the opportunity to write a scene and I have no clue how to start. This could possibly open doors for me to write more scenes in the future and I just might waste this chance,” she confessed.

“Hey you were top of our training class. I know you’ll do just fine,” he reassured her.

“I wish you’re right. I mean what’s so hard about writing an accidental kiss scene,” she stated.

“It’s typical in dramas I’m sure you’ll figure it out,” he said encouragingly.

“But I don’t want it to seem so cliché. I want the scene to be memorable and believable,” she countered. “Thanks for encouraging me. I know I’m being a brat right now. You’re probably dealing with your own busy schedule and I’m taking up most of your time.”

“Hey don’t sweat it. Last week you helped me out on the new idea for the segment I was working on. Yoon PD and our head writer liked the concept that’s why it got featured. It was all thanks to you I got through my first assignment with flying colors,” Seung Hyun said. He has nothing but praises for Dara. She got an amazing eye for detail and she always like reinventing things and she’s also really good in finding inspiration in the most random things.

The two rode a bus and sat at the very back before they continued their discussion. It’s their brainstorming tradition to ride a random bus line and go on a round trip of the bus’ route while trying to figure out the solution to their current dilemma.

“It would be so much easier if I could base it on life experience, unfortunately I have never had an accidental kiss before,” Dara mused. “Have you ever accidentally kissed anyone? It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl or a boy,” she inquired.

“Thankfully I have not accidentally kissed anyone, especially not one of the same ,” he replied with a chuckle.

“Maybe we can randomly interview people and hopefully someone has a unique accidental kiss moment I can use as reference,” she suggested.

The two went to the busy streets of Hongdae and asked random people, usually couples and asked them if they have ever experienced accidentally kissing anyone.

Some gave really candid answers while some was reluctant to share their experience probably because their current partners weren’t the ones they shared their accidental kiss experience.

The two went back to writer Kim’s officetel where Dara is currently staying while she’s working as an assistant writer. They arrived at the front door and were welcomed with a note from writer Kim that she went out to meet with friends and that she will come back really late.
