Jong Kook arrived a little late to the filming. The other Running Man members had already gathered in the lobby of SBS to film the opening scene. Haha noticed him first and called out, “Hyung!” And then the rest of them began talking at once, asking about the entertainment news show, about the rumor of this new drama he was filming, about the American in the photo. Kwang Soo put his arm around him and asked why he didn’t call after leaving the party Saturday night. Have you been too busy in love, he asked? The PD announced that shooting would begin in a few minutes. Jong Kook took that time to ask the others not to bring up anything about the American during the show. Jae Suk opened the show, telling the viewers that Running Man was in SBS today. He asked the PD what was in store for them, and was handed a mission card. “Aish,” Jae Suk said, as he read the card. He turned to the others and told them that they had to find the guest. The PD then announced the start of the race and everyone split up and began running around the SBS building to search.

Kwang Soo ran into Jong Kook on the fifth floor and whispered to him that he knew who the guest was. Jong Kook was about to ask who it was, but at that moment, their VJs caught up to them. He split up from Kwang Soo then and continued to search. But Gary and Ji Hyo, who had been searching the third floor together, found the guest instead.

Everyone was asked to convene back in the lobby. When Jong Kook returned to the first floor, he saw Gary and Ji Hyo talking with a young woman, whose back was to him. But then she turned around, and he saw that it was Sin Yuri. He tried not to show the awkwardness he felt. While the others fought over who would be in her group, he just smiled, and when the PD announced that Jong Kook, Ji Suk Jin, and Sin Yuri would be one group, he held that smile and greeted her politely.

After the introductions, during the break before the next segment, he called the American. He told her that he missed her and asked what she planned to do that day.

“I don’t know,” she said. “Jae Won ssi mentioned that there is an Art Park nearby. We might hang out there for a while.”

He knew that she didn’t know anyone in South Korea, and he was happy that she had someone with her who spoke English, but he couldn’t help feeling jealous at how much time Jae Won was spending with her.
