Kris was having dinner at the guest house tonight. After the entire guest their dinner, I helped Jake with the dishes and put them aside for a while. I was setting up the table when Kris arrived; I gave him a quick hug before I invited him in. Jake was already finishing with serving the food.

“Wow, it smells nice in here” Kris said and greeted Jake.

“I know, it always smells nice in here. Jake cooked the entire thing” I told Kris. I sat at my usual seat with Jake opposite me. I brought Kris next to me.

“Now I understand why Lena keeps on praising your food, Jake” Kris smiled as he took his first bite.

“Lena was just being nice. I don’t cook good food all the time” Jake answered while shaking his hands.

“Jake cook good food all the time” I insisted.

 “Lena is a good cook as well” Jake complimented.

“No-no that was once” I immediately answered.

Kris looked at the both of us confused. “I made Aglio Olio but Jake helped a lot” I explained.

“I see” Kris nodded.

I walked up to the fridge to get some apple juice. I poured some for Jake and myself. “Do you want some?” I asked Kris and he just shook his head.

“Can I get some water?” Kris asked.

“How long are you staying, Kris?” Jake asked Kris while I poured some water for Kris.

“I’m still not sure” Kris answered and smiled towards me when I came back to my seat.

“Are you working right now or?” Jake asked and I was curious about it as well. I haven’t talked about that with Kris.

“No, I’ll be graduating in the next few months then hopefully something comes around” Kris answered.

“I’m sure something will. Did you apply at the company?” I looked over to Kris.

“I did” He nodded and put some of my hair behind my ears, “Don’t worry” He said.

I smiled again. Jake handed me some of the sauce and I thanked him.

“Oh! Are we still going to the bookstore tomorrow?” I asked Jake. Jake mentioned the book store had new arrivals and there were a few books that we were interested in.

“Sure, if you are up for it” Jake answered.

“Yes, definitely” I excitedly answered. I can’t wait to get my hands on some new books.

“We still have some ice cream; do you want that for dessert?” Jake went over to the freezer and took out some pint ice cream.

“I’ll have the usual please” I laughed when Jake was already handing me the vanilla ice cream.

I looked over to Kris who was still eating his food. “Do we have chocolate, Jake?” I asked since I knew Kris liked chocolate better. Jake nodded and took them out. I immediately took another spoon for Kris.

“Thanks Len” He said.

I started piling the finished dishes; I wanted to put them over the sink so that the table will be less crowded. Jake took over the dishes and places them on the sink. He motioned me to sit down.

I continued eating my ice cream while Jake and Kris ate theirs. “I feel like getting some Fro-yo” I whispered.

“I thought you didn’t eat yogurt?” Kris immediately turned towards me.

“Jake and I went to this frozen yogurt place and they had Mochi for the toppings instead. It’s really good.” I explained. When I went to the Fro-yo, I was hesitant at first but after trying them with some strawberry Mochi, I was hooked.

“Lena was in love with Mochi really, it wasn’t the yogurt” Jake explained and I had to nod towards the statement.

“I see” Kris smiled.

“Seriously, it was good” I insisted again and both of the boys laughed at my statement.

“Your phone is ringing” Jake suddenly said to Kris and pointed towards Kris’ phone.

Kris looked over and rejected the call. I looked over to Kris, he shook his head. “It’s no one” Kris said.

Kris wanted to take a walk in the park outside the guest house. Jake just gave me a smile when I walked out the door.

“I thought you didn’t like yogurt” Kris suddenly said towards me.

“I never said I don’t like yogurt” I answered as Kris pulls me on his side.

“We tried it once at home, remember? You weren’t happy about the taste at all” Kris stated.

“Really? I don’t remember” I tried remembering when we tried yogurt back at home. “But seriously, Mochi is my favourite topping, you’ll love it too” I insisted.

“Fine, do you want to get them now?” Kris asked and all I did was shook my head.

“It’s late, we’ll get some tomorrow” I smiled.

“I thought you were going to the book store with Jake tomorrow?” Kris glanced at me.

“Oh yeah, after my trip with Jake then” Kris stopped me in my tracks just as I finished my sentence.

“Len” He whispered and suddenly pulls me into a tight hug.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” I muffled as Kris tightly hug me. I hugged him back to make him feel better.

“Nothing, I just really miss you” Kris whispered and slowly let me go. He caressed my cheeks and pulls me into a hug again.

I smiled as I felt his heart beat.
