The next morning I had difficulties leaving my bed.
"argh Uni!", I sighed stretching my arms and yawning. Taking a quick glance to the clock I realized that I was really late. , I need to hurry!, I thought and made my way to the bathroom to take a quick cold shower to actually make myself wake up. After that, I quickly dressed myself- as usual something comfortable: a black leggings and an oversized pullover and tied my hair in a ponytail. Not much of a fan of makeup, I only used a face lotion and mascara and hurried out of the house without eating anything.
Having finally arrived at the university I hurried to my class: English. I was majoring in English and had to choose another language as a minor subject. And being a big K-Pop fan guess what I chose? Of course Korean. I smiled to myself thinking how much I would be learning in the next few months and the prospect of being able to finally understand my idols put me in a really good mood.
I entered the classroom trying to be quiet as possible and hurried to the back of the classroom. The proffessor still noticed though and said: "Welcome ____, thanks for finally joining us." I blushed and mumbled a "sorry " and put out my scripts and writing utensils.
"As you all know its that time of the year again that we welcome exchange students", the prof announced. All eyes were on him, expectantly, wondering how this year's exchange students were going to be like.
The professor continued: "They will be staying with us for three months and then some of you will accompany them to their country and stay there for three months as well. As you all know we have excellent accomodations for students in our university, so there won't be any need for any of your families to become hosts. The exchange students are going to participate in the university activities together with all of you.
When it's time for your stay in their home countries, there won't be any accomodations in the university for you to stay. But that won't be a problem since the families of the exchange students have thankfully agreed to become hosts. We should all be grateful to them that they are going to accept you to their homes and families."
When he finished, a loud mumbling and murmuring was heard among the students. They were discussing the news heatedly amongst each other.
"Can I please gain your attention back everyone!", the prof raised his voice. "I was not finished yet. Now it's the time to welcome the students and they will introduce themselves. Please be nice to them, show them around and make them feel home as much as possible."
One by one the students entered the classrooms. All eyes were on them. When all of them arrived the professor started to talk again:
"As you all know we have not announced the country that we made the exchange with this year. Since we want to give students the chance to explore as many countries as possible we make an exchange with a parter university from a different country each year. Last year we had made an exchange with Russia and this year the exchange is going to be with...." He trailed off waiting for one of the exchange students to continue with his sentence.
"Annyeong Haseyo!", a girl with long black hair, straight cut fringe and glasses greeted.
OMG! OMG! OMG! Korea, its Korea! I can't even! , I thought starting to get excited.
As a K-POP fan it was natural that I loved Korea and oh boy, did I want to go there so bad but...as you all know that country was so far away and it was impossible for me to go. But was there still a change? A light at the end of the tunnel? If we made and exchange with Korea, that meant I could go there, right?
"Hana ibnida", the very same fringe girl continued. The prof cut in with a "as many of you are minoring in Korean, you have probably understood what she just said. Yes
