Cause You're My ...

What the heck came out of my mouth?

Jaebeom looked so hurt. Jiyong’s grip on my arm tightened.

“Let’s go.” He said and dragged me towards a different direction from where Jaebeom was standing.

I looked back at him and he stared at me, just plain stared at me.  

“Ji …” I said, abruptly stopping.

“I think … I should go back to him.” I mumbled out.

“You told him I’m your boyfriend, isn’t that mean that you’re going to leave your boyfriend?” He frowned cutely.

“I .. uh, this is just a big misunderstanding. I said that because I got angry at him and I didn’t know what else to say.”

 ”Don’t you … like me?” 

“I-I do-“

“Then why do you have to go?”

I couldn’t come up with a comeback.

He smiled, “Then its settled, lets go.”

He walked me towards one of the gardens in the school. I faintly heard a song where we were walking towards to. I soon saw two figures running towards us. 

 ”HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!” This tall-ish really chinky-eyed boy greeted. 

“Daesung, CHILL.”

“Oh, oops. My name is Daesung.” He said, grabbing my hand and shaking it.

“Yah, dork, I want to meet hyungs gir- I’m Seungri.” The panda eyed one said.

 ”Aish.” Jiyong muttered under his breath. 

“I-I’m Misuk.”

“We know.” Daesung grinned.

“Bwoh?”

Seungri elbowed him.

“I mean- we’ve seen you around of school.” He said, rubbing his side.

 ”Oh .. hahaha.” I laughed nervously. 

“You’re really pretty nuna.” Seungri said. 

“YAH! I WAS GOING TO SAY THAT!” Daesung whined, slapping Seungri.

“Hyung! You’re so mean, I’m the maknae, you shouldn’t hurt the maknae.” Seungri whined, hiding behind Jiyong.

“I think this was a bad idea.” Jiyong sighed.

“Yah hyung!” Seungri and Daesung both yelled.

“No, its okay, you’re friends are … funny.” I said.

“See hyung? She likes us!”

 I started to smile, but then remembered about Jaebeom. 

 How is he? 

I took out my phone and was about to press the call button when Jiyong stopped me. 

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“I’m calling-“

“Why? Why do you need to call him?”

“Because, hes my best friend!” 

Seungri and Daesung slowly walked away from both of us. They both waved at us and walked out of the garden.

“I don’t get why you need to tell him anything.” He mumbled, sitting down on the floor. 

I felt frustrated. Should I listen to Jiyong? Why does he need to know? He is my best friend but, some things, I don’t have to tell him. 

I shoved my phone back into my pocket and sat next to him.

Jiyong pulled me closer to him and he let me rest my head on his shoulder.

“So …” 

We stopped in front of my house.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.” He said.

“O-okay.” I replied.

He smiled and kissed me on the forehead.

“Bye.” He said and started to walk away.

I felt my cheeks heat up.

—  two weeks later. 

-  -   60 missed calls   -  -   

 I haven’t touched my phone since that day. 

“Yo Jay! I called you last night man, I thought we were going to chill?” 

“Sorry dude, I lost my phone.” 

Every time I see you in the halls I want to approach you, but you’re always with him. Why did it end up being like this Misuk? We were best friends. Our motto was, “No matter what, best friends for life.” Even when I fell in love with you, I thought just being your best friend, the person you confide with, would be okay with me. 

I scratched my head and sunk into my chair for class. The bell rang for class to start, I stared at your empty seat. You sat next to him now. I clenched my fists.  

I guess he wasn’t the heartbreaker.
