Niel sat beside Cap, his eyes trained onto the letters that resided in his trembling hands; his heart was pound in his head, echoing through the male’s ears. He looked towards the elder male, “Do you really think that this is what is happening to me?”

The older nodded, “I know it’s hard to believe – to imagine, but what was described in the letter is what you’ve described to me.”

Niel looked up at the elder, fear shining brightly in his eyes as he peered at the older male – along with that Cap saw a more distant glint in his eyes. Niel trembled and looking at Cap, “D-don’t let me harm anyone, please.”

Cap nodded in understanding, wrapping his arm around the younger male’s shoulder – pulling him in close to his side, “I won’t let you kill anyone.”

Niel smiled weakly, “I can feel it approaching…”

“What?” questioned Cap, eyeing the younger.

“The abyss – it’s coming for me, to take me away,” whispered Niel, seeming to grow more and more distant as time ticked on.

Cap shook Niel, “Stay with me a little longer…please.”

Niel blinked as Cap gently slapped his cheek, he shook head – as if coming out of some sort of trance, “Hyung, it’s coming soon.”

“I know,” whispered Cap, hugging the still trembling younger male closer to his chest, the younger wrapped his arms around the elder male’s shoulders, burying his face into the crook of the male’s neck, “Which is why I want you to stay with me just a little while longer – I need you to hold out just a little while longer, until I can get the others out of here.”

Niel looked at Cap in fear, “I don’t know how much longer I can hold it off…” The males’ voice was a mere whisper as he continued, “Cap, it’s almost here – it’s almost here. The darkness has a tight hold on my mind…I can’t do anything – I’m powerless to it. It has almost taken over my mind completely.”

Cap sighed, pulling away so he could see the younger males’ face, “Niel, you’re not powerless towards it since you’ve been holding it back this whole time.”

Niel looked at Cap, “How can you be so sure of that?”

“Because you haven’t shown any signs of attacking any of us yet, which is always a positive thing,” stated Cap, smiling towards the younger male, ruffling his hair.

The younger pouted slightly before making eye contact with the elder – shivering as he felt the older male’s warm breath caress his paling skin, finally making him notice how little distance there was between their faces.

Niel looked at Cap, “How do I know you’re going to take care of me once I lose it?”

Cap returned the youngers’ gaze with a very gentle and loving one, he paused for a minute before speaking up, “You can trust me Niel because I like you.”

“I like you too,” responded Niel, obviously not grasping the meaning of the word Cap had said.

“I mean I-I like you as more than an acquaintance,” stated Cap, “We haven’t known each other for that long, but I honestly like you as more than a friend.”

“You like me as a brother then?” stated Niel, acting like he didn’t know what the older was talking about.

“Niel, you know what I mean,” stated Cap, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink – for the first time ever, Niel had seen the older male get embarrassed, “Like I said before, I know we haven’t known each other that long – well, we don’t even know how long it’s been since we entered this place so...anyway, you know what I mean – I’m positive that you feel the same way about me.”

“I don’t,” responded Niel, his eyes shone with fear as he looked at the older, terrified of hurting the male, especially once he lost his sanity once and for all – once his sanity fell into the hands of the shadows who’d play with him until he became a full blooded murder, “I don’t-”

Niel was cut off by Cap smashing his lips against the younger’s in a passionate kiss, shocking Niel. The kiss left the younger breathless and Cap looked into the younger’s eyes, cupping the boys’ cheeks, “Don’t lie to me.”

Niel looked at Cap in shock, however smiled as Cap pulled him into another – far more gentle and sensual kiss.

When they pulled away the second time, Cap looked straight into the younger’s eyes and spoke up, “I’m not going to let you go. I’m not going to let you become one of the monsters we’ve been running away from this whole time. We started this journey together – we’ve been through most of this horror house together – by ourselves. We are going to get out of here together, I promise you, Niel. No, better yet, I swear to you.”

Niel looked at the older with tears in his eyes as he thought of the elder male’s words, he allowed himself to be pulled into a bone crushing hug, “I’m afraid Cap, what if I lose you…what if I h-hurt you?”

“Minsoo,” whispered Cap.

“What?” responded Niel.

“Call me Minsoo, not Cap,” responded the older, running his fingers through the other male’s hair soothingly as he whispered, “Niel, even if you hurt me – I’ll be here to keep you from straying too far down the path of insanity. You won’t lose me – I will always be by your side, alright?”

Niel nodded, resting his head in the crook of Minsoo’s neck and wrapped his arms tightly around the older, “I scared.”

“I know Niel,” responded Minsoo, pressing a kiss the crown of the younger’s head, “I know, so, how about we change the subject, even if it’s just for a little while.”

Niel nodded, smiling weakly against the older’s skin, “What was your life like outside of this hell hole?”

Cap looked at Niel, a little shocked at the younger male’s rather colorful language, “It honestly wasn’t that great – I came from a rich family and even had quite a bit of friends – however, none of them really cared about me. Not one of them were true friends since they were only friends with me because of my family’s wealth and my popularity.”

“What about your family?” whispered Niel as he thought about his parents, his siblings and about how he might never see them again.

“I’m pretty sure my parents haven’t even noticed I’m missing,” stated Cap, “Last I heard about them was that they were on a business trip in China.”

Suddenly, Niel looked up at the older male, “I’m tired, I think I’m going to go to bed.”

Cap opened his mouth in shock, about to respond, however, before he could the younger was already across the room – cuddling into the blankets of the make shift bed – as if his mind really wasn’t there anymore.

Cap looked at the younger in horror, although he really wanted to deny it – he couldn’t any longer.

Within the next hour or couple of hours, the younger was going to fully lose himself – it was inevitable and was clearly obvious as the younger became more and more scatter brained, more bipolar.

Meanwhile in the next room over, Chunji sat in shock by the door – he had overheard that whole entire conversation between Cap and Niel – he couldn’t help but feel shock consume him.

Niel – one of his best friends – was slowly changing into one of the many monsters roaming the halls. Niel – his child hood friend – of all people was changing into a monster. Niel, the male who was always smiling and being optimistic, was turning into a monster consumed by the darkness – devoured by insanity. Most of all, Niel had finally confessed to somebody – had finally found a significant other and now he was going to have to part with him so soon after finding him.

Chunji honestly didn’t know who to feel worse for Niel – who was losing himself to the dark powers within the mansion which had planted a seed of insanity in the younger male’s mind upon entering the house of horror – or Cap – who had finally come to terms with his feelings for Niel – for his companion since the beginning of this nightmare. The one who had promised the male that was now his lover that he would kill him if he were to ever lose himself to insanity – to the darkness’ hold.

“Chunji?” questioned the male sitting on the window sill, peering at the male who was just barely older than him.

Chunji looked up from where he was unintentionally staring intensely at the floor before him.

“Chunji, are you alright?” questioned L.Joe, hesitantly moving towards the elder – knowing that they still weren’t exactly on good terms with each other.

Chunji shook his head beckoning the younger older with a pleading gaze. L.Joe – seeing that the elder wanted, seemed to need him felt something rise up in his chest – moved towards the elder, kneeling down in front of the elder and wrapping his arms around him.

“What is wrong?” whispered L.Joe, his breath caressing the skin of the other male’s ear due to their close proximity.

“We’re going to be losing Niel,” whispered Chunji, his voice barely audible due to the fact it was stifled by L.Joe’s shoulder and his shirt, “W-we might even be losing Cap-hyung.”

“What do you mean?” questioned L.Joe.

Chunji pulled back out of the younger’s arms,  looking into the younger’s eyes – neither realizing just how close their lips were to each other’s’, “N-Niel’s going insane – he doesn’t have much time left until it starts to show.”

L.Joe looked at the elder in complete and total shock, “Wh-what? T-that can’t be true.”

The male couldn’t help but to feel guilt eating him up, he hadn’t gotten the chance to apologize to the younger male for his past actions due to the fact they had been running away from monsters since their groups had joined together – since he had met the male for the first in this horror house.

“I-It can’t be true,” whispered L.Joe, his fingertips ghosting across the elder male’s skin,  across his knuckles in a rather soothing manner.

“It is,” whispered Cap, suddenly interrupting the two who honestly looked like they were about to kiss. Despite the guilt Cap felt for breaking up their sweet little moment – knowing that the two probably needed that comfort, that fact of knowing that there was someone beside them going through this nightmare alongside them – he knew time was very scarce and precious at the moment – that it was only a matter of time until Niel woke up, completely consumed by the darkness, “which is why I’m sending you all out of here with Changjo and Ricky – I don’t want them to see Niel like this. I don’t want them around Niel when it happens – I don’t want you around him when it happens, because I know he is one of your best friends and it would kill you to see him that way.”

“What about you?” whispered Chunji in concern.

“I’m staying here with him,” stated Cap, “I can’t let him become a murder; however, I can’t let him leave this place alone.”

The two looked at the older male in complete and utter shock, understanding what hadn’t been said – not expecting those words from the elder male.  

"Take Ricky and Changjo and get out of here. The monster fell for the trap and we're free of it's burden for the time being." 

The inevitable is coming.
