Chapter 35

Author’s POV

The black haired man groaned to the discomfort, while tossing back and forth on his bed. His eyes carefully flutter to open, adjusting with the darkness of his room. He sits back up on his bed as he gently crushes his left eye with his knuckle, yawn escaping his lips. He then closes his eyes and inhales a mouthful of air before releasing it hastily. Again, inhaling through his nose but an abrupt cough came after, indicating that the room does not have a pleasant smell.

His eyes darted to his door, sensing a rumble on the other side. He can hear the maids that are in rush and his parents seems like in an argument. Seung Hyun just sighed and roamed his eyes around his room, with his eyes adjusted, he can now see all the beer cans, assorted liquor bottles, chips, and cigarette butts.

Falling back to his bed is all he can do for the past week. His friends had never seen him out since the night that Bom made it clear to him that his love was never enough. His hands spreads out to his bed, feeling the emptiness of the bed, his hand hit something and it fall down to his bed. Seung Hyun lies on his side and seeks for the object. The pain strikes him again as he saw the box.

“I could’ve been the father.” He whispers to himself as he stares at the rings. These rings are supposed to be his gift as their second month together, a promise ring that will bind them but, “She chose to leave.”

“Good you’re awake. Oh God~ Seung Hyun why do you keep on living like this??” he didn’t even noticed his mom entered his room; she then went to his window and pulled away the dark curtains that are blocking the sunlight. She then opens the windows to clear the foul odor.

His mom approached his bed, removing the comfort of his blanket and revealing his reddened eyes. “Get up. We’ll be having important visitors.” She then noticed his son’s ashen face, “Something wrong?”

“Mom, can I get married any time I want?” he asked.

“Stop talking nonsense and please get up.” With that, his mom walks off leaving him behind.

“Omma, I want to marry Bom.” He said to himself.

Washing off all his feelings, Seung Hyun wipes his face gently with his towel. “A new day means new a hope.” He chants as he dries his wet hair with the towel, he tries to smile in front of the mirror, heaving the courage for today. He left his bedroom with a small smile, hoping that this time when he faces Bom again, she will say yes.

“A big wedding is not needed as long as the kid won't be a bastard that's good enough.”

Seung Hyun stops from his track on hearing the statement. His heart stops its beating as soon as he heard the word wedding. His blood started pumping loud on his brain, telling him to see who the visitors are. His feet started to have its mind of its own, running across the stairs and stopping on the last flight. Eyes turns to him uninterestedly but his eyes were focused on Bom then to the unnerving stare of his father.

His heart crushed in to many pieces with the sight of Bom, it was like a punch on his guts. The corner of her lips was bruised which causes its swelling, and the bruise on her left cheek is noticeable even with covering of her make up. It disheartened him just looking at the state of her. He clenches his knuckles to the point that it turns white. Bom shakes her head in disagreement on seeing how TOP’s temper is rising.
