If I Could Change Time... (Side story: SooSica)
The roses that bloomed by the sides of the streets accompanied the pair that was walking along the familiar route to school. The street lamps lit the way, as if an enchanting carpet made with lights.
Jessica's shoulder brushed against Sooyoung while their hands interlocked.
Just like a little girl awaiting her present she excitedly walked towards the gates of the school, every step making her beat a little faster.
Jessica had been out on dates with Sooyoung before but somehow this one felt different. Maybe because this is the first time that they are actually going out as a couple since they confessed to one another. Her heart brimmed with anticipation and the houses that they passed seemed transparent as she could only see Sooyoung and the road ahead.
The two fleeting pair of legs finally stood before the school gate and the familiar school now clad in moonlight.
"Are you ready?" Sooyoung gave Jessica's hand a squeeze.
Jessica nodded her head and Sooyoung proceeded to open the gate.
"Ho-how did you get the key?" A curious voice spoke.
"Hehe I got some favors from the chairman of the media club." Sooyoung snickered thinking about the interview she gave in exchange for this favor.
"You didn't tell her anything funny did you?" Jessica shot her a suspicious look.
"Not at all! 80% of what I told her were all made up." Sooyoung remembered the room almost mimicking an interrogation room.
"So what did you tell her was true?" Jessica pursued.
"Hmm probably the fact that I love you?" Sooyoung gave a cheeky grin.
"Yah! You're too cheesy!" Jessica hit Sooyoung lightly on the shoulder.
Without realizing the couple had reach the sports hall. The time where they played volleyball together seemed like yesterday.
"Remember the time when we visited the sick bay?" Sooyoung spoke while they stood along the perimeters staring into the court.
"Of course I do, it still hurts." Jessica rubbed her forehead pretending the ball had just hit her.
Sooyoung reached for her forehead without a seconds thought and gave it a light peck.
"There, all better right?" Sooyoung smiled.
Just then a mechanical sound of something lowering could be heard. Jessica looked towards the stage, seeing the projector screen being lowered. Sooyoung held Jessica's hand and pulled her into the hall and as if by magic the projector switched on and the video played.
'A Jessica lover production proudly presenting the cast - Sooyoung & Jessica'. A picture of Sooyoung and Jessica took in granny's cottage accompanied the words that were now showing on the screen. Sooyoung appeared on the screen in an interview-like setting.
"Would you like to start off by introducing yourself?" An unfamiliar voice spoke, but was recognized as the president of the media club.
"Hello my name is Sooyoung." The girl smiled and bowed in her seat.
"Do you want to tell us who is this girl and what is your relationship with her?" A hand popped up holding Jessica's high school admission photo.
Jessica cringed looking at her own photo.
"Her name is Jessica. She is many things to me but most importantly - girlfriend?" The answer left chuckling while squeezing her hands in embarrassment.
"What do you like about her?" The questions continued.
"I like how she walks half asleep to school, how she likes to try new things, how she is afraid of lightning but found the strength to overcome it, how she appears so strong but depends on me to protect her, how she tells me she loves me, and how she lets me love her without reserve." Tears started to form around Jessica's eyes, while Sooyoung held the girl closer to her and smiled.
"Anything you want to tell the special girl?"
"Thank you for always being there for me and thank you for being the start of my life." Tears flowed endlessly down the cheeks of the girl being interviewed, all while managing a blissful smile.
