Baby trouble
If I Could Change Time... (Side story: SooSica)The wind brushed against the hair of the dark haired girl as she rode her bike to the now familiar place. Behind her was the american princess tightly hugging her waist, cheek resting against her back. Sooyoung constantly teased Jessica by slowing down and quickening the speed of the bike making it uncomfortable for Jessica.
"Yah, ride properly!" the blonde girl whined.
"You mean like this?" Sooyoung rammed up a hump and Jessica was lifted off her seat.
"Ouch!"
Without keeping an eye on the road Sooyoung rammed up the next hump and caused the bicycle to stray out of the road.
"Omo!!" the dark haired girl panicked.
Both girls fell off the bike and landed on the haystack right beside the road. Jessica touched the areas where it hurt while Sooyoung quickly got up over to the american girl.
"Are you okay?" Sooyoung anxiously checked Jessica's body for injuries.
"Pabo! I told you to ride carefully." Jessica pouted.
The two stared at each other for a bit, Sooyoung looking slightly worried and guilty. Just then Jessica smiled and merong-ed. Sooyoung fell flat on the haystack and the both of them started laughing, just like any one of their happy days.
"Hello grandma!" the two of them cheerfully greeted when the door of the hut was opened by the familiar wrinkled face.
"Where's Mi Young?" Jessica rushed into the place and searched for the little angel.
The blonde girl went skirting around the house looking for the baby girl while Sooyoung presented granny with freshly made cookies Jessica and herself had prepared. The old lady received the cookies with both hands, flashing a kind smile and tears almost forming.
"You shouldn't have." the old lady could only manage these words when in fact she was grateful beyond words.
"Ahh found her! Mi Young~" Jessica's aegyo voice was easily recognized.
Jessica brought the baby out and laid her on the wooden flooring. The baby lied in a spread eagle position while Jessica lied stomach flat on the floor playing baby games with the kid.
"Peek a boo!" Jessica covering her face once more.
Jessica was almost turning into a child as she played with the kid and imitated the 'goo goo gah gahs' baby are famously known to 'speak' in. It was almost embarrassing for Sooyoung to see Jessica like that, but a part of her couldn't help but feel a certain joy. She felt happy knowing that only she would ever see this side of Jessica.
"Ah since you two are here I might as well take this oppurtunity to get some grocery." the old lady got up from the floor arching her back, stretching the stiff and aged spine of hers.
Sooyoung supported the old lady by her arm and escorted granny out to the door. Jessica flashed a smile and gave the old lady a thumbs up confident that there'd be no problem at all.
"Don't worry granny, Mi Young is in good hands. You stay safe~" Jessica excitedly brought Mi Young back into the house with a second word.
"I'll be sure to make sure nothing goes wrong." Sooyoung was being mature more than usual, maybe the kid had ignited her inner parent.
"I will be back soon then, take care of Mi Young." the naggy old lady parted with the house to get the groceries while the two girls stayed behind to look after the child.
---Back at the house---
"Sooyoung could you get me the milk bottle?" Jessica waved her hands anxiously, this being her first time at making milk.
"Er where was it again?" this babysitting thing was certainly not working too well for the both of them.
Sooyoung went to open cupboard by cupboard in search of a milk bottle while Jessica boiled the hot water. The loud crying from the baby left the couple jittery, legs and hands almost clumsy.
"Ah there it is." Sooyoung handed the milk bottle to Jessica.
"How many scoops are we supposed to put in?" Jessica asked, with Sooyoung equally clueless.
They tried and tried and tried, both learning that milk was much harder to prepare than what they had expected.
"Blegh this is too thick."
"Too bland."
"This is just plain hot" the duo stuck out their burnt tongues.
"Why ain't the milk powder dissolving?" Jessica shook the milk bottle.
It was almost an hour later that they had successfully made a barely satisfactory formula of milk. Rushing to the baby's side Jessica fed the baby and the crying stopped immediately. Despite her body being drenched in sweat, she could only look at the baby. A smile formed seeing the baby drinking the milk in simple bliss. Sooyoung being more delicate than usual brought a tissue to wipe off the beads of sweat off Jessica's face.
"Thank you." Jessica looked up to Sooyoung smiled.
"You know, I think you'd make a very good parent." Sooyoung praised Jessica.
"Really? I think we were plain bad though." Jessica chuckled.
"Haha thank god the baby didn't starve to death." Sooyoung joked along.
"I saw a much softer side of you today." Jessica eyed at Sooyoung, while Sooyoung blushed.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" Sooyoung looked away.
"You'll make a fine parent, I'm sure." it was Jessica's turn to praise Sooyoung.
"Yea? Then Mi Young is pretty lucky having two super parents looking after her."
"She sure is. I'm so glad it's you that I'm looking after the child with." Jessica thoughtlessly said.
"Wh-what the heck are you saying?" Sooyoung was blushing madly with embarrassment along with Jessica when she finally caught on on what she said.
----------
"Now we have to burp the child right?" Jessica patted the baby's back while Sooyoung went to wash the bottle.
Moments later the baby let out a loud burp, then came along an undelightful aroma.
"You can't be serious?" Jessica had her face half tilted away and a single eye left open as she used her hand to check the diaper...
"SOOYOUNG!!" the duo were in for some baby good time and troubles...
