Chapter 7 Continued (Again)
Broken, Unbroken [Hiatus]MEI LING POV:
A knock came at my door. Drying my swollen eyes, I got off my bed and opened it, surprised to see Heechul standing there with a very pissed off expression.
"If you still want know about Hankyung and I... I tell you..." he said, obviously forcing the words out of his mouth.
"...It's okay if you don't want to. I shouldn't have forced you..." I said softly.
"...Fine," he replied and left, obviously relieved to do so. I sighed and shut my door. I knew he wasn't ready to share his feelings with anyone yet. Even if I have only been living here for a couple of weeks, I learned a few things about Heechul: he has a strong barrier around himself, acting cold to strangers; he tends to keep to himself offstage; and he isn't open about his feelings or emotions (except maybe his anger) at all whatsoever.
HEECHUL POV:
I woke up the next morning feeling a bit better. Having some time completely to myself last night helped a great deal. I still felt bad about making Mei Ling cry, but I couldn't bring myself to apologize. It would be too humiliating, a great blow to my pride. I decided to ignore the feeling and got out of bed. I looked up at my clock and realized that I slept past lunch; at least I didn't have a schedule today. I guess that's what being moody does to you...
I stretched and yawned groggily, stopping when muffled voices caught my attention. I opened my door slightly and recognized Siwon and Leeteuk's voices, as well as Mei Ling's. I rolled my eyes and shut the door again. They were trying to teach her Korean, again. Nope, I'm staying right here. I felt something soft rub against my leg. I looked down and smiled. I picked up my cat and held him up to my (beautiful) face.
"Good morning, Heebum. Did you sleep well?" I asked, giving him a kiss on the nose. He meowed at me and I smiled. I jumped back onto my bed, my back bouncing on the soft mattress. I held Heebum up in the air and then placed him on my feet, flying him around and making airplane noises. Apparently I was louder than I thought because a knock sounded against my door.
"Heechul-ah?" came Leeteuk's voice. "Are you awake? Siwon-ah and I brought you some food for lunch."
"...Okay, I'm coming," I replied and put Heebum down on the ground where he curled up and stared at me with his golden eyes. I smiled again. My cat was used to my psychotic personality by now. I opened the door and Leeteuk literally dragged me into the kitchen to eat. "No! I'll eat in my room!"
"Joh-eun achim," Mei Ling and Siwon said in unison as I entered.
"Joh-eun achim," I replied grumpily, taking my seat and dug into the Chinese food Leeteuk and Siwon brought.
"Hey, hyung! You didn't thank the Lord!" Siwon exclaimed. I ignored him. I was an atheist; he was religious. I respected religion...so he should learn to respect atheism. "Hyung!"
"Bite me," I said and kept eating.
"Okay, that's enough," Leeteuk said. Siwon was about to say something, but then clamped his mouth shut.
"Thank you," I said. "You shut him up."
"Heechul-ah!" Leeteuk glared at me, but I merely shrugged.
"Siwon-shi just say thanks give you have," Mei Ling said in just about the worst combination of Korean words that have ever reached my ears.
"Oppa," Siwon corrected. "Siwon-OPPA." I gawked at him. Now she was calling them 'oppa,' too?!
"Meh..." she whined. " 'Hyung' sounds better... 'Oppa' sounds...weird..." I looked away as my eye started twitching. If she called me oppa, I think I'd kill something...
"Girls call older boys 'oppa,' " Siwon said.
"Then think of me as a little brother. I've never acted like a girl in my entire life anyways. I've always been a tomboy," she replied stubbornly. Siwon sighed in defeat.
"Mei Ling, are you Christian, too?" Leeteuk asked her in surprise.
"Yes. I no think much like Siwon-hyung, but yes," she answered. I groaned. I did not need another person preaching to me everytime I saw them. Siwon was bad enough on his own.
"You can help me convince Heechul-hyung to go to church with us, then!!" Siwon exclaimed excitedly, almost bouncing in his chair.
"I no go church," she replied in a sheepish voice. I looked back at her in surprise. Did not see that coming...
Neither did Siwon.
