MEI LING POV:

"Dr. Hwang says that your arm and ribs will most definitely have healed enough to move around by the end of the month. If everything continues like the way it has, of course,' Hyun-woo translated for me.

"That's good," I replied, looking at my arm. "I'll be able to use both hands again soon!" He chuckled.

"Not only that, but we have also looked into a more suitable place for you to stay. It requires a bit of work, but I'm sure you'll be able to handle it. I think it would be more pleasant than staying with Heechul-shi," he said.

"I'm okay with that. I feel really guilty about not being able to do anything in return for all your generosity," I replied.

"Don't mention it. Anyways, study your Korean! We'll come by next week for another check up," he said and both he and the doctor excused themselves.

My door had momentarily been closed before a knock echoed from the other side of the wood.

"Yes?" I called.

"I come in?" Leeteuk's voice asked in response.

"Yes, of course!" I answered. His head poked into the room.

"Everything okay?" he inquired, closing the door after himself.

"Yeah, I guess," I replied. He sat beside me on my bed and took a deep breath.

"I just talk Heechul-ah..." he said."He not good..."

"...Oh..." was all that would come out from my mouth. "...Uh, Leeteuk-shi-"

"Please, me call Jungsu," he said with a smile.

"Jungsu?" I asked.

"Real name," he replied, pointing to himself. I nodded in understanding and continued,

"Why does Heechul...shi? Is that right?"

"Yes," he replied.

"Uh, why does he hate me so much? I mean, I understand that I am staying in Hankyung-shi's room, but why does he make such a big deal about it?"

"Uh...Heechul-ah... Hankyung-ah is...uh, get marry and he no tell Heechul-ah. Hankyung-ah promise come back to here when marry, but now think no... Make Heechul-ah hurt," he explained, finding some of the English difficult.

"Okay... so I'm just the one he's venting to... great..." I muttered. "I don't get it though, shouldn't Heechul-shi be happy for Hankyung-shi? I mean, his best friend's getting married!"

"Hankyung no tell him, no invite Heechul-ah, too," Leeteuk said. "I tell him call Hankyung."

"There's something wrong with them both... No wonder they're friends..." I shook my head.

"Ah wha?" Leeteuk asked me, confused.

"It's nothing," I replied, shaking my head again and he didn't press the matter. Instead, he changed the subject to our Korean lessons, which I didn't manage to screw up too badly.

HEECHUL POV:

I sat on my bed, staring relentlessly at the number on my phone. Try as hard as I may, my finger would not move to press the "call" button. It's been years since we last spoke. How would he react? Would he still recognize my voice? Would he even talk to me? Or worse... what if his fiancee answered? I shuddered at the thought. It would take a miracle to stop me from screaming how she stole my best friend from me and for her to off into the phone. I sighed and turned it off, knowing I wouldn't be able to talk to him. But... Jungsu-hyung had said that this will never be settled unless I did something... But why did it have to be me?! With a scowl, I threw my cellphone across the room where it landed with a sickening crash onto the ground.

I looked away from it and found myself staring at the photo Mei Ling had cleaned up for me. Feeling a sense of nostalgia, I looked up at the ceiling. Why couldn't things just go back to the way they were? Back to the good times, when there were all fifteen of us together, like one big family...

Unbroken...

Suddenly, music echoed, bouncing off the walls of my room. I looked over to it and realized that it was my cellphone. I ignored it, hoping that whoever was calling would find something better to do.

But it didn't stop. With a huff of frustration, I got off my bed and stomped over to my phone, ready to take the batteries out. What stopped me was the caller ID. I stood frozen, staring at the screen while the phone kept ringing.

What... the... hell...

I stood there, debating whether to answer it or not. What would I say? What would he say? I bit my lip as my thumb moved on its own and pressed the button. I brought the phone to my ear with a shaking hand. It was like a chunk of lead had dropped into my stomach when I heard the dial tone on the other end.

I was too late...
