HEECHUL POV:

"Heechul-ah?" My eyes widened in recognition of the voice. I looked at Mei Ling, but she had already disappeared, leaving me to talk in private.

My tongue was in a knot; not a single sound could make it past my lips. I slipped back inside my room, shutting the door behind me; I leaned against it for support.

"G...Geng...?" I finally managed to croak out.

"...Yeah... How are you, Hee?" he replied, seemingly as nervous as I was.

"...Fine," I answered.

"That good... So, you replaced me already? Who was that I talked to?" he asked, trying to lighten the mood. His Korean was as incomplete as ever.

"What's it to you? You've already replaced me, without bothering to tell me anything," I said cooly, emphasizing the last part.

"... I know... That why I called... I'm sorry, Heechul. I'm really sorry for not letting you know sooner. I said that you will forever be my best friend, and you are, so I owe you apology," he said sincerely.

"Start explaining," I said, crossing my arms.

"Explain what?" he asked in surprise and I felt my anger flare up.

"You know very well what!" I shouted. "Explain to me why you just decided to pack up and leave us without a good explanation. It wasn't only because of your health, Hankyung! The moment you set foot back in China, I found out that you started a solo career! Was Korea really that bad to you? Did SM really treat you that poorly that you went so far as to say that it was like being a slave, on air?! What kind of slave is able to buy his parents a dumpling restaurant?! What kind of slave-"

"Hee..." he said.

"Don't you 'Hee' me, Hankyung! Do you have any idea what I've been through?!" I screeched, unable to sustain my rage.

"What you been through?! What about me?! Do you have any idea what I been through, Heechul?!" he snapped.

"I wouldn't know! You never told me! You never told me anything! Like the fact that you're freaking getting married!" I snapped back.

"Why do you care so much?" he asked coldly.

"Because... it feels like I'm being replaced..." I said, cracking.

"How can you be so selfish, Heechul?! I can't stay with you forever! Yes, you my best friend, but I not spend the rest of my life alone!" Hankyung yelled. "You always think only of yourself! Think of what I gone through and then tell me that!"

"Huh, you think that what's happened to you was bad?!" I asked furiously. "I was a wreck when you left!" Yes, I was throwing my pride aside, but I had to get him back for all that he put me through, I had to make him feel hurt... Lashing out was my only way of defending myself... "I would drink until I got drunk almost everyday to escape reality! And when I was starting to recover, I find out that you haven't told me anything about your amazing life in China! You haven't talked to any of us! And by the time I started to get over that, this decides to fall out of nowhere and messes up my life even more! Thanks to Jungsu-hyung, she's now living with me, and everything that I've tried so hard to forget is haunting the out of me! Everyone is saying I look like a zombie! And now, after how many years of ignoring us, you have the nerve to call and say sorry?! You think a pathetic 'sorry' is going to make up for all that?! And it's not just me, how do you think the other members feel?!"

"...I'm sorry..." he repeated. "But, that... girl that you just mentioned, is she the one I spoke to?" I sighed, having vented most of what I had bottled up inside.

"About four weeks ago, Jungsu-hyung, Siwon, and I found this girl among some wreckage. She was the only one that survived, but sustained many injuries, one of them being a heavy blow to the head that left her with a bad case of amnesia. We had no information about her and she spoke only English. She had no place to go after being discharged from the hospital, so Jungsu-hyung offered to let her stay here for a month... in your room..."

"Oh..." he said, unsure of what to say. "...So... how is she? Is she nice...?"

"I don't know... There's something about her that won't let me hate her...but..." I sighed again. "I know that none of this is her fault, but I can't help but be angry with her... Everytime I see her, I see red."

"What she ever do to you? When I spoke with her, she didn't seem so bad," he said.

"How would you know? You can barely speak Korean properly, let alone English!" I exclaimed, teasing in a sarcastic way.

"She spoke Mandarin to me," he replied.

"What?!"
