“Does anyone else know about your preference? Or am I the only one?” Minho asked Dara.

The couple has been in here for quite some time and although the place was rather empty, they failed to notice that there was someone stalking them. He was sitting two tables away, far enough to not be noticed but close enough to catch what they were saying. In his perfect disguise of beanie over his famous Mohawk hair and casual clothes that he had kept in the car in case of emergencies like this, the chances of being spotted as compared to when he is in school uniform or even exposing his flashy Mohawk was much lesser.

“Well rather than saying my preference, it was actually Youngbae who introduced me this drink.”

Although Youngbae was feeling funny in his heart when he notice that Dara has actually introduced Affogato, a drink that was supposed to be THEIR drink, he was actually happy when he heard that Dara mentioned his name in front of that Minho guy. He thought that maybe he has a special spot in Dara’s heart, enough for her to tell her date another person that this drink is something she share with him. However thinking back again, maybe Dara didn’t think too much. After all Dara is someone who loves to share.

“Youngbae-ssi?”

“Since there are couples in our group, there would be many times when us singles would just hang out together. Compared to the other three, Youngbae and I are really quiet and aren’t into arcade and more that the maknaes prefer so there were times where we would just leave them and get some quiet time. That day when Youngbae brought me here, it was a hot summer day and I was torn between having cold ice cream or a cup of coffee which I was craving for. The weather was really hot and I thought that the best option was to get ice Americano when he mentioned that I could have both ice cream and coffee at the same time.”

“And that’s when you fall in love in Affogato?” Minho asked as he sips into his coffee.

“I wasn’t in for it at first. After all the first time we had Affogato was the original ones with shot and in addition to that, when you pour the shot over the ice cream and you take your first sip, you would notice that the taste is not neutralized yet cause the ice cream have not blend in with the coffee yet so it was rather bitter. However as you continue to drink, the coffee gets colder and sweeter because of the melted ice cream over the hot coffee and it refreshes you up.”

“Do you think he would be angry if he knows you’re sharing this special drink with me now?” Minho asked. At the side Youngbae was agreeing that man do think alike but still mentally cursing Minho-ssi for stealing his special drink with Dara.

“Why would he be angry? If he would be angry at you, what would happen if we are in Italy when everyone is drinking it? Or how about those Italians who invented this drink? If he’s angry then shouldn’t those Italians be angry for him claiming the drink as his?” She asked innocently.

“Dara-ssi no offence but I finally understand why you haven’t been in a relationship.” Minho said with a chuckle.

“What does this got to do with me being in a relationship?” Dara asked and Youngbae was aware that she is actually trying to contain her anger within her.

“One quick question, have anyone told you that Youngbae-ssi might have something for you? You know like special feelings?”

“Eh…”

“I’ll take that as a yes. What about you Dara-ssi?”

“H-he’s just a dongsaeng to me.” Dara said, holding her pride but neither did she know that Youngbae was heartbroken when he heard his noona saying that she didn’t had feelings for him. Youngbae was devastated and decided that there was no point staying longer for her knew that he would be hurt more if he did, therefore leaving the two in the café to have a peaceful date.

“Dara-ssi although we are considered on a date right now but you don’t really have to see me as a date. I am interested in a girl like you and I would love it if you could be my girlfriend but I know we’re never going to be anything more than friends. Besides you seem to be thinking of Youngbae-ssi all the time.” Minho said.

“Me? No I wasn’t.”

“Well it’s not new news that Youngbae-ssi is driving a Mercedes and when I mentioned I was driving one you seem shocked. Even to this glass of Affogato, it is something that you two share. Dara-ssi a boy wouldn’t just bring a girl to the coffee shop and recommend such a special drink. If he really treats you as a friend, he would have just head to the counter and order something you usually drink rather than sharing such a special drink with you.”

“Youngbae just love to share.”

“If he loves to share, the others would have tried it too wouldn’t they?”

“Well maybe they did and I didn’t know about it?” Dara asked.

“Let me help you.”

“Eh?”

“Although we can’t be lovers, I think we can be good friends. I know your friends are using me to poke jealousy in Youngbae-ssi so that he can confess to you. They don’t look like someone who would just entrust their unnie to someone who is openly flirting with her so easily. I don’t mind acting as your boyfriend. We can go on friendly dates and make him jealous. Isn’t that what your friends are aiming for?”

“I don’t want to use you Minho-ssi. That would make me so despicable when I know you have feelings for me too.”

“You’re not using me. In fact I’m actually using this situation in my favor do you know that? While trying to get Youngbae to be jealous, I would be planning our dates like we’re an official couple. I would treat you like my girlfriend and who knows you would change your heart and fall for me? It’s a chance for me if you approve Dara-ssi~”

“I don’t know Minho-ssi. I really don’t want to hurt either of you.”

“Well at this point, one is bound to get hurt so why not let us have a fair competition even if Youngbae-ssi isn’t aware of this? At least we are given a chance to fight for you and in the end, you would be happy no matter who you choose in the end. Let’s just do this for now alright? If you think it’s not going to work, we can stop in the future.”

“Ahrasso. Thank you so much Minho-ssi for understand.”

“No. Thank you for giving me a chance to fight for you.” He said making Dara smile.

Dara and Minho finished up their drink while trying to find out more about one another such as the fact that Dara has a brother name Chun Doong and she was afraid of animals in general until her brother had a cat called DaDoong, a mixture of Dara and Chun Doong’s name did she then open up to cats. Minho on the other hand is the only son of the family and his family has a business of their own that fed the whole family over the years. Well Dara was after all expecting this ever since she found out that Minho has a Mercedes. It wouldn’t be an easy thing for a 19 year old to earn enough money for such a slick car.

Dara offered to drop Minho off at his house first before she head back for she had her car and Minho promised that after today, he would be the one who would be driving her around in her Mercedes since it would make him look really weak having a girl drive him home. Dara just laugh at his sentence and agreed. The both of them got a lot more comfortable after the afternoon that they shared to the point where they can joke with one another. After exchanging numbers, even if Minho had Dara’s already, they bid one another goodbye before Dara head home.

On the way back, Dara can’t help but to think that Minho is a really good guy after all. Back at the café Dara was curious and asked why Minho was waiting for her outside for 30 minutes and not call her when he have her number and his answer totally melt her heart when he says that other than not wanting to come of desperate, he thought that it would be better if he gives her space. Even if that means that he might have to wait for hours, he felt that it would be better if Dara was ready and come willingly rather than forcing herself to date him. Freedom like this was a big plus point in relationships and it seems like Minho did pretty well with that.

She returned home to find that she was the only one back and decided to ring up the girls did she then find out that they were still in the library. When the girls heard that she was back at home already, they started scolding her for ending the date so early and she should have at least have dinner with Minho but gave in when they were told that Dara and him actually went to the café and after some coffee they were still a little full. Bom thought that café was a rather romantic place for dates, especially first dates cause every time Seunghyun and her hit the café, she always felt so much love from him.

Since they were close to wrapping up whatever they were doing, they told Dara to change into something more comfortable so that they can meet outside for dinner together, this time with a better atmosphere compared to the one that they had last Saturday because of Jiyong’s sadistic urge temper and rules. The boys called Youngbae to join them for they knew that him having dinner with his parents was just something he made up to cover his stalking motives and Youngbae didn’t even bother to continue lying. Instead he just said that he wasn’t feeling well and he would just have a simple dinner at the dorm so that he can rest after that.

It was a time where Jiyong and the boys knew maybe something happened and he didn’t want to be disturbed. They were happy that their plan was working because he was acting like this most probably after he seen something between Minho and Dara but still it pained their heart to see that he was hiding rather than acting out like he was expected to. Still they thought that maybe he just need some alone time to settle himself down before planning his ‘attack’.

“Dara ah how is Minho-ssi?” Bom asked while they were waiting for their food to come.

“He’s a nice guy.” Dara said but not revealing much while her cheeks blush red.

“You’re starting to have something for him unnie?” Minzy asked.

“That’s not the case!”

“Then what is it Darong?” Chaerin asked.

“He knows you guys are doing this because of Youngbae and he said he would cooperate.” Dara came clean.

“Seriously?!! Is he playing you or what?” Seunghyun asked.

“Aniya. He mentioned that while trying to make him jealous he would treat me like his girlfriend. He says it’s a chance for him to win my heart, you know like while making Youngbae jealous he said he wants to try and change my heart.”

“Sounds so romantic!” Chaerin commented before she turns to Jiyong. “Oppa if we’re in their shoes would you do that too?” She asked.

“Nope. I’ll force you to love me~” Jiyong said making Chaerin giggle. But when they felt silence, they turn to look at everyone who was looking at them weird.

“They are crazily in love~ Ignore them.” Seunghyun said making the others shake their head while they ignore the couple trying to tease one another.
