The Misfits“It's like this every where. Only the Vampires, who are of usage to the King, are in his favor. We, the other ones... we have to suffer under his reign. It's the worst. Even humans live better than we do. At least we have something to eat.” The woman couldn't stop crying and as Lay gave her some blood, she cried even more. Even the young girl started to cry out loud, and she hugged Lay very tight. “Thanks a lot, mister!”
For Hana, it was too much to bear though. She left the room abruptly and walked through the hallway of the small inn mindlessly. Her hand was still covered with blood, but she didn't think of it right that moment. “Watch your way,” she growled as she accidentally bumped into someone. A hand closed around her wrist, and Hana's eyes widened as she saw Luhan.
There was something in her eyes, something that made her incredibly sad and without saying anything, he simply lead her to his room and sat her down on the bed. “I don't understand this,” Hana whispered. “Why... why do they have to suffer like that?” Her words caused Luhan to freeze for a few seconds, and he completely forgot that he wanted to give her some blood. “For what is a King if he isn't there for his people.”
Even though it wasn't her intention, Hana indirectly blamed Luhan. He knew that, and he also knew that she wasn't aware of that. “What is the King there for?” As she noticed that she started to cry, Hana hated herself for that. She didn't want to cry, even though those were more tears of anger than tears of sadness. “Hana...” Luhan whispered, but she shoved him away. “Isn't it the duty of a King to take care of his people? Isn't it the duty of a King to make sure that his people won't suffer?”
Every single word of hers stung like acid, and Luhan looked away. “It is,” he whispered silently. “I thought of Vampires as a bad race, but now... there is actually no difference between us. Hate, poverty, inequality. It is the same everywhere. It doesn't matter what kind of race we are.” As Luhan took her hand, Hana flinched a tiny little bit. “I am a coward, aren't I?”
Surprised by that, Hana's eyes widened and she tilted her head to the side. “What do you mean by that?” A bitter smile appeared on Luhan's face. “When my brother exiled me, I didn't fight back. Rather than that, I was incredibly happy that I didn't have to be King and now... because of me... our people have to suffer.” He was a coward, a huge coward, and he pretty much knew that himself, but still, there were a few things that made him pretty much uncomfortable.
“I don't think that you are a coward.” With a sigh, Luhan patted her head and stood up to get her a wet towel so that she could wipe the blood from her hand. “What makes you think that? You just said it yourself, right? A King should never let
