A Promise Made
Dream Come True? (Sequel to Wishing Upon A Star...)
You folded your arms across your chest. ‘It’s not fair! I’m practically being forced to do a song with mean oppa.’ You rolled your eyes, “Fine. Let’s start recording.”
Mr. Lee beamed. “Excellent! ~~~~~~~, we might as well start with you.”
You sighed and walked into the recording booth. You put the large headphones over your ears and adjusted it so it would fit snugly over your head. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Mr. Lee sit at the controller panel and flick a switch that the familiar piano chords you had once played. ‘It’s like an exact replica of the music that I wrote last night.’ In a way, you felt relieved that the company hadn’t changed any of your written music. You stepped close to the mic and began to sing. After recording your voice a number of times, you were finally able to rest.
You stepped out of the recording booth. When casting a quick glance at Mr. Lee, you saw that he was holding up a sheet of lyrics that Dongwoo had written. “Hmm, let’s see,” Mr. Lee drabbled. “Let’s have Hoya go first!”
Hoya got up from his chair and you took his spot. Lucky for you, it wasn’t very close to Dongwoo. In fact, it was on the other side of the room as him. The happy moments, the laughter from my dreams are erased by the reality in my head
(Please again)
Trying to erase you from my reality, but when I open my eyes again, I’m alone.
(I swallow the tears, looking for you when you’re not around)
Even if you see me like this, I’m okay.
It isn’t you, when it rains, I feel the raindrops falling on the ground.
(Why) is your image on the puddles the same as always?”
You took in a deep breath. ‘Is that how he really feels?’ You looked at Dongwoo, who was mouthing the words along with Howon. He seemed intense about the lyrics that he had previously written.
Mr. Lee pondered, then clicked a button so he could talk to Howon. “Hoya, can you also rap starting with ‘like an endless tunnel’?”
Howon nodded and rapped more of the lyrics in front of him:
“Like an endless tunnel, I don’t know what to do.
This gap between us that we can’t cross...
We’re like a rope that can’t be cut.
Like a wall that can’t be overcome...
The beat between you and I that was shaking,
I got up to at least try and match it now.
I, who was dropped by the sky, fall down with my tears.
I become farther from this world that tightened your breath.”
Mr. Lee clapped. “That was very good! Dongwoo, it’s your turn.” You watched as Dongwoo had taken the headphones from Howon and stepped u
