008: Very Benevolent

Very Benevolent...
Jeno couldn't help but smile as he walked into his house. He'd somehow managed to get this girl to open up a bit. Maybe he was dramatic in thinking she was lonely, or that there's some huge reason she isn't friendly with others. But, he did, he thought those things and he even worried for her. That's part of the reason he abruptly opened up to her, usually if he wouldn't tell people he didn't know well about his past, and present, home life. But something about her made him spill everything. She seemed like someone who could hold secrets, that could be why he'd been so comfortable with her from the get-go
The only downside of this moment was the fear in the back of his mind that told him she'd be the same after break. Jeno blinked at his own thoughts, two weeks is a long time. But he had her number. He almost wanted to smack himself, why was he so hung up on getting close to her...did a part of him want to unravel whatever mystery surrounded her? He rolled his eyes at himself. Stupid.

Jaemin was more confused than anyone as he walked into his room. Somehow his walk in the park had ended up with him and Doyeon agreeing to be friends. The funny thing is, his heart skipped a beat in that moment. "I'm tired." He said to himself. There was still some awkward air that hung around him and Doyeon. Are you hiding something too? His head turned to the music room right across from his bedroom. A somewhat determined smile lifted his lips, "I hope you meant what you said, because now you're stuck with me."

Doyeon woke the next morning to the sound of a plant falling on her balcony. She turned to the other side, she wasn't going to get out of bed to clean right now. But before she could fully drift back into dreamland, she heard a knock. "It's open," she mumbled, thinking the sound was from out in the hallway. But when nobody walked in, she grumbled and sat up. She swung the door open in annoyance, but nothing was out there. She slowly closed it...then the knock came again. This time she was sure it was coming from the balcony door. She made her way over to the door, unease taking it's spot in her stomach. When she opened the door she was greeted by a familiar smiling face. "Good morning, friend~" He sang. Doyeon stood there in shock, "What the-" she stopped talking and just walked over to her bed. Jaemin snorted, "What are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm dreaming." She mumbled, snuggling farther into her sheets. Jaemin leaned against the door frame with a fond smile. "Have you dreamed of me before?" He asked. Doyeon sat up, "You're real aren't you?" She asked. He nodded, "What gave it away?"
"The cold air coming into my room." She stood up and pushed him back out onto the balcony, shutting the door behind them. "Why are you on my balcony?" She asked, anger coating her voice. Jaemin didn't seem at all phased, "Well, I climbed over so I could invite you to hang out." He informed her. Doyeon shook her head, "Thanks but no thanks, I plan on spending this vacation by myself." His forehead creased.
"What happened to, 'Jaemin please please be my friend'?" He batted his eyelashes. She clenched her fist, "I never, said that." She took a deep breath, "And even if I did, that offer wouldn't start till we're back in school." She informed him.
"Are you serious right now?" He asked. Doyeon nodded as she walked back into her room, "Dead serious." She smiled before slamming the door in his face.
Just give me a few weeks to prepare myself.

She stayed true to those words all break. And even when school started back up, they didn't get many chances to hang out. Test and end of the year exams were approaching at that fast holiday season speed. There were only a few times all Jaemin and his friends ate lunch with her. But even then everyone was mostly revising notes and talking about how they couldn't wait for the weekend.
In barely a blink of an eye, it was already two days before New Years. Somehow she'd already been in this town for six months, some times that seemed like such a small amount of times. But at other times it seemed like it had been years. One of those times was right now.
Jaemin was on her balcony, again, with his stupid smile.
"What do you want?" She asked. "Did Jeno invite you to his grandmother's New Years Eve party?" He asked. Doyeon thought for a moment before nodding, "Yeah." Her and Jeno had actually become a tad bit closer, some with her and Jaemin. During the last few weeks they'd all gotten more comfortable in each other's presence. "Are you going?" He asked, annoyed,
