019: A Spiralling Winter
Like Stars In the Sky
One wrong step on ice can lead to a terrible outcome. One wrong move can send her spiraling, she isn't perfect, nor will she ever claim to be. Just how Winter never claimed to only be a season of good things. The ice cycles that hang like the prettiest fairy lights ignite her imagination to an almost unfathomable height--but then a single face can cause her to crash down and spiral. Winter break began in a beautiful way, but as soon as it ended, she was hit with the most ugly memories. Another spiraling winter to add to her list.

"A trip?" Doyeon asked, her voice raising a bit in surprise. The surprise on her face didn't match her dad's face, he looked just as excited as the boy in front of them.
Chenle nodded, Jisung behind him looking a bit uncomfortable at the fact that Doyeon's dad was peasant; it seemed his social awkwardness was on full display today. "Yes! The company my dad works for just opened a new resort, my dads letting me take my friends there for a short winter break getaway." He explained enthusiastically. Doyeon wasn't sure what to say, she didn't not want to go or anything, but it was all very sudden. "We'll leave tomorrow and get back the next day, it's just a one night trip." Tomorrow being the 27th of December. "Of course, that's only if your father is alright with it." Chenle added, glancing at Mr. Nam.
"Of course I'm fine with her going! As long as your parents will be present." Mr. Nam tacked on. Jisung nodded, confirming that there would be parental supervision.
"Both Jisung's and my own parents will be present." Both sets of parents were just as close as their kids, and both worked at the same company as higher ups.
Mr. Nam clasped his hands, "Great! Then as long as Doyeon wants to go, I'm completely fine with it." He patted the top of Doyeon's head. Said girl blinked dumbly, Doyeon's brain caught up a couple seconds later, she nodded.
"Where are we going?" Her use of 'we' made both boys brighten.
"It's a five star hotel called Exo'luxion." Chenle explained, "It's located in Gangnam." The trip was practically a staycation, although they don't live in Gangnam, most of them had been.
"There's a lot to do around the hotel, and the whole area is pretty populated." Jisung added.
Doyeon went silent for a minute, she'd already agreed; of course that didn't stop the bit of anxiety she felt. "Okay," she finally said, "Who's driving?" The question made both the boys smile.

Jaemin bit back harsh words as everyone showed up in front of his house, well almost everybody. He noticed as soon as he opened the door that Doyeon wasn't present, it was odd how his eyes searched her out before he even had time to process anyone else. "Could your dad not have hooked us up with a driver?" Jaemin asked, pushing past everyone with his suitcase in tow.
"He offered, but I told him you like to drive." Chenle said with a satisfied smile. Jaemin had made it clear on multiple occasions that he did not like driving them all around. The bright side was; he wouldn't be driving his own car. Since both Jisung's and Chenle's parents were already in Gangnam, Mr. Park had set the kids up with a car big enough for eight. So, Jaemin wasn't stuck worrying about his friends ruining his car. But, he still had to be in charge of keeping them all from getting into stupid fights for the duration of the car ride.
"Where's Doyeon?" Renjun asked, finally noticing that she wasn't present yet, "We said to meet outside right at noon." He tsked under his breath, it was now five minutes past said time. Haechan was about to offer to go and ring her doorbell, but just before he could, her front door opened. She seemed to be nagging away at someone, she was shifting from leg to leg, causing her small duffel bag to bounce up and down. The boys forgot their impatience immediately, and instead started getting excited as they piled into the car. Doyeon finally gave a quick hug to Taehyun, who they could all now see because he was leaning out of the door frame, and then started walking towards them.
"Hi," she said tiredly as she stopped right in front of the open car door. Jaemin and her were the only ones not yet in the vehicle. The boys chirped their greetings from their respective seats. "Where do I sit?" She asked Jaemin, he was going to tell her she could sit in the passenger's seat; but when he turned his head he saw Haechan was already occupying it. So, instead her reply came from Jeno.
"You can sit here." He patted the seat beside him in the back row. Doyeon just nodded before climbing back, throwing her bag into the trunk from her seat. Jaemin closed the door behind her, and got into the driver's seat. He took a deep breath before turning on the ignition.

The first ten minutes of the ride were somewhat chatty, but everyone seemed to be crashing as they neared the twenty minute mark. Jaemin sent a side glare to Haechan, who had already fallen asleep. Apparently he didn't know that it was polite for the passenger to stay awake and keep the driver company, though Jaemin couldn't really blame him. Car rides always have a way of making everyone feel exhausted, sadly Jaemin can't enjoy that feeling.
As they neared the hour mark of their drive, everyone began waking back up. Conversations ensued, they all fell as background noise to Jaemin and Haechan; the sound of the radio drowning everything else out. The second row of the car (consisting of: Renjun, Jisung, and Chenle) were in the middle of a rather heated conversation. "I'm just saying; a wizard has a far better chance at winning a fight! What's a ninja going to do against magic?" Chenle was in the midst of saying, Jisung nodding in agreement.
"A wizard has magic, but a ninja would be far better at hand-to-hand combat. What kind of fight would it be? And where is the fight taking place?" Renjun said, growing irritated. The conversation would surely go on for sometime, so why not move to the back row?
In said row, Mark bobs his head along to the music coming through his headphones. Beside him, Doyeon looks forward out of the windshield. Her attention is stolen by the pointy elbow that softly nudges her side. "Hmm?" She hums, turning her head to look at Jeno. He pulls one of his earphones out before saying what had made him reach for her attention to begin with.
"Apparently the hotel has an amazing water slide." Jeno says happily, waving his phone in front of her face. Doyeon places a hand on the device to steady it, the slide twisted and looked to take multiple loops of a staircase to access. "We should go swimming tonight" He said as if tonight wasn't the only night they had. It was beginning to feel like the trip would be far too short.
"I haven't gone swimming in ages." Do
