Resolve of the Wolf's Storm?

The Not So Ugly Duckling

“So why did you guys call us over here?” Himchan raised a brow as him, Yongguk, Jongup, and Zelo were now sitting in Youngjae’s teeny living room. “Don’t tell me it’s to brag about how you two finally got together?” Himchan rolled his eyes.

“Jealous?” Daehyun smirked as he snuggled closer to Youngjae, a small sniffle escaping him. He was still getting better from his fever.

“Pfft! Hardly.” Himchan scoffed leaning against Yongguk with a victorious smirk on his face. Yongguk let out a small sigh, eyeing Youngjae apologetically. The younger returning the notion.

“Yah, let’s conclude that the both of you are disgusting.” Zelo sighed, not wanting front row seats to this love off.

“Please. I’d like to retain my eyesight as much as I can.” Jongup shook his head in dismay.

“I don’t know, Guppie, the way you’ve been eyeing Zelo is probably putting more strain on your eyes than we could ever do.” Daehyun snickered, only to receive a whack on the head from Youngjae.

“Don’t . And don’t act like you don’t do the same, I swear to the Lord Almighty that you’ve been eyeing my everytime I turn around.” Youngjae scolded.

“Not denying that,” Daehyun smirked, leaning in with a sly grin on his face. “Honestly it just looks so f**-”

“Ack! Enough! There are children here!” Himchan shrieked, covering Zelo’s ears to save his innocence. Zelo rolled his eyes. He could never understood why his hyungs treated him like such a baby. The kid was at least a head taller than everyone else. Zelo glanced over at Jongup to only see a bright smile on the man, a small chuckle escaping his lips at Zelo’s hopeless situation.

“Though all of us are extremely happy that you actually have a potentially healthy relationship, Daehyun, why did you call us here?” Yongguk raised a brow, knowing that Daehyun was not the type to invite people over just to show off. Daehyun didn’t care what people thought about his love life, it only mattered what he and his partner thought. And in all honestly, if Daehyun wanted to show off he would have probably made a steamy tape, not call for a brady bunch reunion.

Youngjae and Daehyun glanced at each other a bit before a wide grin spread on their face. “We found the culprit.”

“Ah! Where do you think you’re going!?” Youngjae crossed his arms, eyeing Daehyun from the doorway.

“Uh...nowhere?” Daehyun awkwardly chuckled, twiddling his thumbs to distract himself.

“You are not going back to work. You got that? You just freaking passed out yesterday!” Youngjae let out an exasperated sigh at Daehyun’s foolishness. Youngjae basically had a small heart attack seeing Daehyun go limp in his arms, and he refused to let the other let him break himself down again. Or cause him dangerous heart palpitations.

“But my cute little nurse made me feel all better.” Daehyun teased, gesturing Youngjae to come closer. The younger sighed, rolling his eyes as he approached. Daehyun gently tugged on Youngjae’s arm, pulling him onto his lap. The elder snuggling into Youngjae’s shoulder, inhaling his scent, ravishing in his warmth. He was addicted to it.

Youngjae let out a small chuckle at the action, gently running his fingers through Daehyun’s hair. It was so funny that just a few hours ago they had transitioned from the state of friends to lovers, yet everything seemed so natural. As if Daehyun and him had been together for years. The simple touches, the warm gestures, everything seemed to fit lock and key. It was surprising given their personalities. But Youngjae enjoyed it, longed for this. He and Daehyun happy, laughing, being in each other’s presence. What was the term everyone coined? Dating your best friend? Youngjae couldn’t have said it any better.

“I literally fed you salt water and we spent more time confessing our feelings and kissing than you actually feeling better.” Youngjae scoffed at the other’s ridiculousness. Daehyun looked up at Youngjae, a playful twinkle in his eyes as he pecked Youngjae’s nose.

“That’s more than enough,” Daehyun chuckled. “And you’ve got to give me that recipe for your soup. It is to die for!”

“You !” Youngjae slapped Daehyun lightly, the two boys laughing their butts off.

“A hot , remember?” Daehyun smirked.

“Your my .” Youngjae grinned, gently booping their noses together.

“That’s the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.” Daehyun sniffled and wiped away a fake tear of appreciation. Sometimes Youngjae wondered if Daehyun would have made it bigger as an actor than a CEO.

“Really then you must be really deprived of compliments,” Youngjae scoffed, rolling his eyes and leaning back against Daehyun’s broad chest. Daehyun pouted a bit, but a devilish grin soon replaced it as he thought up a playfully devious idea. He poked both of Youngjae’s sides, causing the younger to yelp. “Yah! What the actual hell!?”

“It was too tempting,” Daehyun snickered. “You just looked so squishy.” He cooed, resting his chin on the younger’s shoulder. Youngjae lightly headbutted the elder on the forehead in retaliation, it was more of a tap in Daehyun’s opinion.

“It’s not squish...it’s fluff.” Youngjae pouted, crossing his arms and puffing his cheeks out.

“You’re just too f**king cute.” Daehyun grinned, leaning up for a kiss, but only got Youngjae’s palm in return.

“What did I say about getting me sick?” Youngjae quirked a brow.

“That I could?” Daehyun smiled innocently. Youngjae couldn’t help but roll his eyes and look away at Daehyun’s audacity. Albeit it was cute as hell and Youngjae didn’t expect Daehyun to be such the fluffy type. He honestly thought that Daehyun was the y, gonna get in your pants and take your for a ride kinda a guy. But Daehyun seemed more bunny than wolf.

“Wrong! Minus 10 points,” Youngjae pinched Daehyun’s nose, causing the other’s face to scrunch up. “But I’m serious Daehyun, no more work until you’re better.”

A sad smile spread across Daehyun’s face, completely understanding Youngjae’s concern. Adoring it actually. Loving the fact that he was cared for by someone he loved, someone he cared equally about. “I know, chipmunk, but I have to go find the bastard that Woojin hired.”

“So you can send him off to Mexico with ‘Daehyun’s ’ tattooed on his ?” Daehyun chuckled, squeezing the younger one tighter.

“You remembered! God, I knew it was a great idea to make you my partner in crime!” Daehyun chuckled.

“Partners in crime? Is that what we are now?” Youngjae giggled. “I promise you though, if we get arrested, I’m throwing your under the bus.”

“Ouch, chipmunk. That hurts. I thought what we had was something special.” Daehyun shed crocodile tears.

“It is, that’s why one of us has to be free to break the other out from jail.” Youngjae gently tapped his pointer finger to his temple.

“You’re a genius.” Daehyun laughed. He hadn’t laughed in so long. He felt so free like all the tension he had melted off his shoulders, when in reality chaos was all around him. But it didn’t matter. Just having Youngjae in his arms. The world just seemed to have gotten a bit brighter and fluffier.

“I know,” Youngjae shrugged, a cocky smirk on his face. “So what work do you have to do anyways? I’ll judge if it’s doable or not. If it puts too much strain on you I’m throwing it out.”

“So is out of the question?” Daehyun teased, only to receive light punches from Youngjae. “Okay, okay, I get it. later, work now,” Daehyun smiled at the soft whacks the younger was throwing at him. “I just have to look over some security camera footage from the day you signed the paper. Hopefully I can spot anyone suspicious.”

“I’ll help then.” Youngjae got up from his spot on Daehyun’s lap. The elder frowning at the lack of warmth and Youngjae.

“You don’t have to. It’s not-”

“I. Am. Helping. Understood?” Even though a bright, innocent smile was on Youngjae’s face, Daehyun knew the exact strictness of Youngjae’s words.

“God, who would've thought that I was going to be the husband that had to deal with your demanding …” Daehyun grumbled.

“I heard that!” Youngjae yelled from his living room.

“Demanding and has supersonic hearing, well .” Daehyun chuckled, following after Youngjae.

“UHHHHG, How many hours has it been?” Youngjae grumbled, making himself comfortable on Daehyun’s lap. Originally the two boys were sitting side by side, but as time moved on and boring footage about people going about their daily life filled the screen, Youngjae had slowly found himself inching towards Daehyun and getting more sleepy. Though the small moments he caught Zelo and Jongup together or Himchan acting hysterical (probably on the phone with Yongguk or yelling at some incompetent people) on the cam managed the bring back his wakefulness.

“I told you that I could have done this myself.” Daehyun chuckled, resting his chin on top of the fluffy chipmunk’s head since the younger was slouching and pouting. Daehyun would wholeheartedly admit that he would prefer the younger being in his arms bored then being off somewhere leaving him alone watching these boring videos. For months he had to hold himself back, wallow in his own self-pity. Only dreaming that his precious chipmunk was within arms reach. Being able to hug his chipmunk instead of hugging his plush. Daehyun was not about to let one second go to waste.

“How are you not sleepy?” Youngjae yawned, pulling the blanket that was wrapped around the two of them closer to him.

“Well you know, I kinda passed out for several hour so…” Youngjae pinched Daehyun’s cheek for being a smartass. “Aish, my precious face!”

“Pfft, narcissist.” Youngjae chuckled, snuggling closer into Daehyun’s warmth to make himself more comfortable.

“I’m only narcissistic because it’s true,” Daehyun smirked, gently caressing Youngjae’s cheek. “Anyways, take a nap. I’ll wake you up when something interesting happens, kay?”

“Mmmmm…” Youngjae nodded, letting out another sleepy yawn as he curled himself tighter in Daehyun’s hold. He literally looked like a chipmunk huddled in it’s nest during hibernation.

Daehyun smiled sweetly at the younger, giving him a kiss on the head. He watched as Youngjae slowly drifted off into dreamland, his breath steadying to a calming rate. Daehyun’s eyes softened as he watched Youngjae’s chest rise and fall slowly with his mouth a bit agape. It was the cutest damn thing Daehyun had ever seen. And he’s seen baby panda’s eating peanut butter. He leaned down and placed a light feather kiss on each of Youngjae’s eyelids. A smile spreading on Youngjae’s face as he clutched onto the fabric of Daehyun’s shirt. Daehyun couldn’t help but grin at the sight. My how he had changed.

Not to long ago he wouldn’t be smiling like an idiot at the smallest gesture of any human being. (Unless they were a baby. Cause, ya know, babies were undeniably cute and Jung Daehyun was no monster.) He wouldn’t be satisfied unless he was pounding into someone senseless until they were a mess, screaming his name. He would be out partying and drinking the night away with a babe on his arm after a long day of work. He had his whole life planned out for him. But now, God, if old Daehyun could look at him now. Here he was, staying in a cramp living room in sweats watching boring surveillance tapes on a dinky laptop. Cooing and ravishing in the presence of a single human being. A single chipmunk.  And the thought of was the last thing on his mind. Okay, that’s a lie. But was no longer the end game. Instead it was happiness. Happiness for him and Youngjae. His future no longer set in stone. It was now full of twist and turns and he had no clue where it would lead him. But he didn’t care. Not anymore.

Daehyun nuzzled into the younger’s hair, his cheek against the soft fluff as he continued to watch the videos. His eyes were starting to become unfocused as his mind began to wander. Watching surveillance video was terribly boring. He had to remember to raise the pay for his security guards because my God, he didn’t understand how they could do this on a daily basis.

“Ah!” Daehyun jumped a bit finally seeing something that caught his eye.

“W-what!?” Youngjae nearly toppled over from the sudden outburst and movement. Daehyun was staring at the screen, enraptured by the images before him.

“There! That’s the f**king bastard!” Daehyun pointed at the screen, showing a man on the phone, undoing his tie, and tossing papers except for one in the trash.

Youngjae peered closer to the screen, squinting and rubbing his eyes to get a better view as well as rid his grogginess. “Him!” Youngjae’s eyes went wide, his mouth agape once he realized who the hell the bastard was.

“You recognize him?” Daehyun looked at Youngjae stunned and excited since Youngjae could point out identifiable markers if he remembered the culprit.

“Wait right here,” Youngjae sprinted to his room, leaving Daehyun slightly confused. It wasn’t until he heard the rustle and rummaging coming from Youngjae’s bedroom and the younger returning with a frantic look in his eyes. “Here! This guy!” Youngjae handed him the employee card.

“Lee Jaehwan?” Daehyun scrunched his face. Now he knew who the hell’s he would kick. “I’m pretty sure the name is fake….” Daehyun chewed on his bottom lip. “But this picture will work…”

“What are you going to do? Don’t tell me you’ve got some secret service to find this guy?” Youngjae chuckled, joking as always. But the bright smile on Daehyun’s face and the fact he wasn’t denying it got Youngjae to think twice.

“Got something better. It’s called a Moon Jongup,” Daehyun snickered, knowing that he could trust Jongup more than anyone in dealing with the likes of espionage and information gathering. He never asked Jongup how he got those skills, but he was pretty sure Jongup wouldn’t answer him even if he did ask. “We’ll call the guys tomorrow and we’ll exact our vengeance.” Daehyun grinned evilly, a suspicious tug in one corner of his mouth.

“Tomorrow? Why not now?” Youngjae raised a brow. Finding the perp and clearing Daehyun’s name was the most urgent issue why push it back even one minute?

“Cause I want to spend more time with you without interruption.” Daehyun pulled Youngjae into his arms.

“That was cheesy. Did you rip that out of a romance movie?” Youngjae chuckled, wrapping his arms lazily around Daehyun’s waist.

“Better. I ripped it off from a 99 cents Valentine’s day card.” Daehyun snickered.

“Niiice, I’m glad to find out my prince charming is such a poet.” Youngjae rolled his eyes, but a smile never leaving his lips.

“So I’m your prince charming?” Daehyun smirked, a smug little spark in his eyes.

“Yeah, my frog prince.” Youngjae bursted into laughter at Daehyun’s obvious pout at his words.

“Yeah, but if you kiss me I’ll be a handsome prince.” Daehyun noted, puckered his lips to ask for a kiss.

“Really now?” Youngjae chuckled, looking up at Daehyun. Daehyun mimicking a carp, pushing for this kiss to happen. Youngjae stifled the giggle wanting to burst from this ridiculously cute image. He thought he should present Daehyun with some kind of award for finding the perp so why not give the frog prince what he wants? Youngjae pressed his lips again Daehyun, their lips moving in sync with one another. Youngjae couldn’t get enough of Daehyun’s lips. They were as soft and delectable as he imagined. Their kisses were so sweet, so tender. He nearly forgot how rough and messy his first kiss with Daehyun was, if he could even count that since Daehyun was in a drunk stupor. Both boys grinned before parting ways. “I still see a frog.” The two boys burst out into the laughter as Daehyun playfully hugs Youngjae’s tighter. Teasingly suffocating the younger against his broad chest for calling him a frog.

“You know, all the cutesy after you discovered who the bad guy was could have been cut out.” Himchan sighed, rolling his eyes as he leaned against Yongguk.

“Seriously. I thought you were about going to start a monologue about your two day romance.” Jongup shook his head in dismay despite the obvious grin on his face.

“I thought it was cute.” Zelo shrugged, enjoying the bits of romance he heard since he too wanted to act cutesy and lovey dovey with a certain guard dog.

“Thanks Zelo. Jongup really doesn’t deserve a sweet kid like you.” Daehyun chuckled, but quickly received a sharp blow to the stomach from a glaring Jongup. While Himchan was cooing over his bright red little boy.

“I am starting to question if we are hanging out with a group of young men or children.” Yongguk grinned, leaning back on his hands and watching the chaos ensue.

“I’m pretty sure we’re hanging out with a bunch of monkeys.” Youngjae shook his head.

“F**k, Guppie, that hurts.” Daehyun hissed, rubbing his precious belly.

“You’re lucky I didn’t aim lower or else Youngjae would have an impudent boyfriend.” Jongup hissed, crossing his arms.

“You wouldn’t dare,” Daehyun glared. “At least not until I get to use it on Youngjae’s fine-”

“Keep this PG!” Youngjae shrieked, covering Daehyun’s mouth. Honestly, Daehyun was such a damn talker he wondered if the elder ever kept his mouth shut. There was literally no filter with the man. “Uhg, anyways we called you all here to devise a plan on how to find this bastard.” Youngjae placed the ID card in the middle of the circle for all of them to see.

Jongup picked up the card and examined the photo. “Give me a few days and I can find this .” Jongup glared at the man in the photo, ready to tear him a new one.

“I don’t have a few days, Gup.” Daehyun sighed, knowing full well that the meeting for his dismissal was right around the corner.

“I’ll help you Jongup. With my sources and your expertise we should be able to find this guy in half the time.” Yongguk grinned at the Jongup. Jongup smiled back, the two having unspoken words that seemed only Daehyun could understand.

“Remember, no questions, no trail.” He nodded at the two of them.

“What the hell are you guys talking about?” Himchan glared at Yongguk, not liking that the three men were having a secret conversation without the rest of the group.

“Are you doing something illegal?” Youngjae eyed Daehyun suspiciously, knowing how reckless Daehyun could be.

“Not illegal per say…” Daehyun awkwardly chuckled, knowing if he revealed all to Youngjae. He would probably. Okay, not probably. He will get an earful.

“It depends what country you’re in.” Jongup shrugged.

“Are you a freaking super spy, hyung?” Zelo stared at Jongup flabbergasted. There was more than meets the eye of the hyung he admired and crushed on. And despite Zelo’s lack of knowledge, the more secretive and mysterious Jongup was, the more attracted Zelo was to him.

“Shhh, I’m actually 007, but you can’t tell anyone. I’m Jongup. Moon Jongup.” The two boys chuckled at Jongup’s silly joke. The other boys weren’t paying attention (And lucky for Jongup and Zelo cause they would have been teased to now tomorrow if their hyungs saw) since they were too busy trying to get the suspicious boyfriends out of their hair.

“It’s nothing dangerous, I promise Channie.” Yongguk gently Himchan’s cheek, the other melting at his words.

“Fine...I’ll trust you...but I’m only doing so cause you’re cute.” Himchan huffed, but his annoyance quickly disappeared once he felt a pair of lips on his cheeks. Now it was all out grins.

“How about letting me off cause I’m cute too?” Daehyun grinned, making a cutie face by poking his cheeks.

“Pffft, not happening, buddy.” Youngjae crossed his arms, a brow raised seeing what else Daehyun had to offer.

“God, you’re hard to please,” Daehyun grumbled. “I hope you’re not like that in the bedroom.

“If you don’t tell me then you’re never going to find out.” Youngjae smirked, knowing that this threat would surely get Daehyun to comply to his will. Youngjae wasn’t the nosy type….most of the time. And he usually wouldn’t care about Daehyun’s crazy plans. But this involved Daehyun’s safety and Youngjae was sure as hell that he was not going allow Daehyun to do something that may hurt him either physically or mentally.

“We’ve been together for two days and you’re already using to threaten me. How cruel.” Daehyun faked crocodile tears, biting into a tissue for more dramatization.

Youngjae sighed and rolled his eyes. “Fiiiiiine, Just answer me these three answer questions. Is there any chance you will be physically or mentally get hurt? Will this involve some sort of illegal act? How much bail money do I need to bring?”

“No, probably not. Um...kinda. And about a quarter of a million.”

“Ouch. That’s a steep price.”

“And yes, I love you.” Daehyun grinned like a child on ice-cream day when he saw that Youngjae was slightly stunned by his words.

“I didn’t ask you that.” Youngjae could feel his cheeks get a bit heated at the sudden and public confession.

“I know, but I justed wanted to say it.” Daehyun smiled so sincerely and innocently that Youngjae couldn’t mark it off as being some sort of tease.

“Stttooopppp being disgustingly sweet.” Zelo groaned, throwing a pillow at Youngjae.

“You cheeky brat, who let you throw things at your hyung.” Youngjae glared back throwing the pillow back at Zelo, who whacked it with his hand. The pillow hitting Himchan instead. Right in the face to be exact.

“Why you ungrateful children!” Himchan hissed, picking up the pillow and about to beat the two boys with it. The so called meeting ending with Yongguk holding Himchan back, Zelo hiding behind Jongup, and Youngjae using Daehyun as a human shield.

”F**king fantastic…” Daehyun groaned as he watched the FBI comb through his office and take whatever papers and files they needed (Thank God he told Jongup to keep the document with Youngjae’s signature). “Are you guys gonna take much longer? I do have a multi-billion dollar company to run.”

“It will only be a few more minutes, Mr. Jung.” The Special Agent Song sneered as he crossed his arms and eyed the work of the agents.

“Awww, are you testy cause my lawyers gave you a run for you money to get a warrant?” Daehyun teased, a smug smirk on his face.

“Do not test my patience Mr. Jung,” Special Agent Song growled, not appreciating the CEO’s arrogant attitude. “And tell your research staff that will be meeting with them soon to get their statements.”

“Will do, sir.” Sarcasm dripped from Daehyun’s voice as he sat down on his office couch and leaned back on the soft cushions.

“And where is your secretary? We need his statement as well.” The agent was still shooting daggers at Daehyun, not amused by Daehyun’s nonchalant behavior. As if the young CEO knew he was going to get away with this crime.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Daehyun snickered, reaching forward for his glass of water. “I have no clue where Guppie has gone. Do I look like his keeper to you?” Daehyun sipped on his water, a devilish glint in his eye despite the obvious fury in the eyes of the agent.

“And you’re sure this is the place?” Jongup glanced up at the fancy luxury hotel before him. The wealth and bougie atmosphere oozing from the exterior.

“Of course! That weasel forger Li Joon always had a idiotic knack for bragging and would I honestly ever lie to you, Moon?” The man on the other line chuckled.

“I don’t know, Kang. Would you?” Jongup smirked as he quirked a brow.

“Not when you gave me info on that rival mob that was inching in on our territory. Saved me a pretty penny if I do say so myself,” The man chuckled and Jongup could hear the puff of smoke that was being breathed out by the elder man. “I’m still wondering why a guy with your skill sets is still babysitting that Jung kid.”

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Jongup snorted as he walked into the hotel. “Anyways, thanks for the help Kang. I’ll keep in touch.”

“No problem. And you sure you don’t need my help with this? I can send a few guys to help ‘persuade’ this individual to spill his guts.” Jongup had an inkling that the sentence could have been taken literally or figuratively.

“I’ll be fine. I have my own methods of dealing with these types of scum.” Jongup smirked as he entered the hotel elevator, punching in the floor to the presidential suite.

Jongup let out a small sigh and his face cringed as the sudden smell of booze and cheap perfume entered the air of the top floor. In all honesty he should have been used to it seeing as Daehyun would also run with a similar crowd, but ever since the CEO was whipped by Youngjae, Jongup no longer needed to take Claritin. Jongup quietly approached the front door of the presidential suite. He placed his hand on the door handle gently pressing down. Fortunately Yongguk’s connection came through and the door was unlocked for him. Jongup opened the door to only see what he could describe as a ton of mess. Bottles of alcohol were strewn across the marble floor, along with bills of cash. Scantily clad girls filled the room dancing to an obnoxious club music beat. Jongup weaved through the crowd of dancing humans, trying hard not to approach any of them till he found his target. Li Joon. Two basically women on his arms, as he held out a champagne glass.

“Li Joon?” The drunk man looked up Jongup and glared.

“Who the hell are you!? And how did you get in here!?” Joon hissed, padding around for his gun that he always kept around in case of emergencies.

“You and I are going to have a little chat.” Jongup smiled and quickly kicked away the small table that held the pistol away from the both of them. The girls shrieked at the sudden noise and Jongup nodded for them to leave the room.

“Why the f**k do I have to talk to you!?” Joon glared at Jongup, but obvious fear was in his stance. The criminal was a forger, not a fighter, and he knew that Jongup could easily beat him up if he wanted to.

“It’s funny,” Jongup grabbed Li Joon by the collar of his robe and began dragging him out towards the balcony. “How you think you even have a choice.” Jongup snorted, easily bringing along the struggling forger.

“W-what do you want from me!?” The forger began to panic the closer and closer they got to the balcony.

“You and I are going to have a little chat about one of your jobs involving Jung Corp.” Jongup smiled sweetly at the man as he aggressively yanked the man’s arm and placed his hand on the outdoor glass table.

“Like hell am I going to tell you .” The forger hissed as he attempted to wiggle out of Jongup’s grip.

“The most important thing to a forger is his hands correct?” Jongup asked the question innocently. Li Joon looked at the other man confused as how this line of questioning would get him to squeal. “I wonder what happens when you put this on it?” Jongup pulled out a small bottle. The forger’s pupils began to shake and his struggle became frantic as he read the label on the bottle. Hydrochloric acid.

“Y-You’re bluffing.” The forger swallowed thickly, hoping that this was some sort of elaborate ruse.

“I wonder.” Jongup grinned, pouring just a bit of the bottle’s substance on the table. The liquid bubbling immediately after it touched the surface.

“O-okay! I’ll t-tell you everything!!” The forger squealed like a girl as he ripped his hand away from Jongup as soon as the younger’s grip loosened.

“I don’t want you to tell me. I want you to tell the world that you forged that signature and who hired you to do it.” Jongup crossed his arms, bottle still in hand.

“A-are you crazy!? I’ll go to prison!” The forger growled, running his fingers through his hair. “I don’t even care if throw that at me.”

“You have two options here Mr. Li,” Jongup sighed, pulled out his phone and revealed a slew of documents and video images. “Right here, I have enough evidence of your other works to send you to prison for two life times. And not one of the nice prisons either,” Jongup smirked, seeing the resolve of the other man falter. “Or you could be in a nice posh prison for however long you're sentenced for this one crime.”

“H-how can you guarantee that…” The forger looked at Jongup skeptically.

“I have a friend that has connections in law enforcement,” Jongup placed his hands in his pockets, growing bored of the conversation. And tired in fact. He had spent basically the past two days expending his resources to find this rat. “You have by tonight to turn yourself in. If not, my evidence will go straight to the FBI,” Jongup nonchalantly waved as he began exiting room, leaving the forger in a state of utter panic. “Oh! And if you tell your employer about my little visit, I really might just dump this all over you.” Jongup waved the bottle in his hand as the forger stared at him with fear.

“How did it go?” Jongup yawned, as he walked down the hall, bluetooth blinking in his ear. Yeah, he was ready to go home and take a 24 hr nap.

“Good, things are all set. Did you talk to your friend already, hyung?”

“Yeah, everything should be settled once he confesses.” Yongguk noted, making Jongup let out a small sigh of relief.

“Looks like this mess will be done with. Finally,” Jongup ran his fingers through his hair and glanced down at the bottle, peeling the label off. Hydrogen Peroxide. “Hmph, easy.” He tossed the bottle in the trash.

“The hydrogen peroxide as hydrogen chloride trick?” Yongguk chuckled, well knowledged in Jongup’s devious nature.

“It never fails,” Jongup smirked. “I’ll see you all later, hyung.” He snapped the prepaid cell phone in half, tossing its pieces in the trash outside of the hotel.

“I have to what?” Youngjae whined, ruffling his hair frustrated. He had so much work to do and he had no time to spend talking to some FBI agents harassing his boyfriend.

“You’ll be fine, chipmunk,” Daehyun cupped the younger’s face gently, squishing his cheeks together. “Just don’t say anything that will throw my or your in jail okay?” He leaned in and pecked Youngjae’s lips.

“Of course, I’m too pretty for jail.” Youngjae scoffed.

“And you call me a narcissist.” Daehyun rolled his eyes, but a bright toothy smile was still on his lips.

“Are you saying I’m not pretty then?” Youngjae raised a brow, a playful smirk tugged on his lips.

“I’m saying you're gorgeous,” Daehyun smiled sweetly at his little Youngjae. He leaned down and pecked Youngjae’s forehead. Then each of his cheeks. Then the tip of his nose. Each of his eyelids. And finally ending on his lips. “Every inch of you.”

“Ewwwwww,” Zelo deadpanned as he walked into the lab, carting in autoclaved bottles. “Can you not.”

“Zelo, let your hyung teach you something.” Daehyun grinned, wrapping his arms around Zelo’s shoulder, pulling the younger closer.

“Daehyun, don’t corrupt him or else Himchan will kill you.” Youngjae chuckled, knowing fully well that Himchan would strangle the daylight out of Daehyun for tainting the baby.

“Himchan isn’t here now is he?” Daehyun chuckled, cupping Zelo’s ear and began whispering words that Youngjae could not discern.

“JUNG DAEHYUN! What are you doing to my baby!?” Himchan bursted into the lab, already annoyed since he had to take care of the scientific board this morning.

“Wow! Faster than I thought, Himchan.” Youngjae chuckled, noting the furious bright red on Himchan which complimented the sweetly glowing embarrassed red of Zelo.

“My mom senses were tingling.” Himchan growled, glaring at Daehyun.

“What? I didn’t tell him anything he didn’t already know. I was just giving him a warning since I’ve frequently seen Jongup . The kid needs to prepare or his will be ripped in-”

“I WILL MURDER YOU FOR RUINING MY BABY!” Himchan pounced on Daehyun, strangling the living daylights out of him.

“Youngjae save me!!!” Daehyun pleaded as his life was flashing before his eyes.

“Sorry? Did I hear something? Hmmmm it may have been my boyfriend who just admitted to seeing Jongup’s body frequently, but who knows.” Youngjae shrugged, fanning Zelo to calm the boy’s nerves down.

“Zeeeelllooo! Help out your hyung!” Daehyun whined/choked.

“Hmmm, I think I heard a voice that reminds me of CEO Jung that has seen Jongup’s body frequently, but I’m not too sure.” Zelo shrugged as well, feeling the heat of his cheeks subside.

“Any last words Dae-”

BRRRRRIIIINNNNGGG!

“It’s Jongup,” Daehyun managed to choke out. Himchan shot Daehyun one last glare before removing his grip from Daehyun’s neck. “I’m into , Channie, but I’m a sadist not a masochist. That’s more your shtick.”

“I swear to the Holy Mary, Youngjae, that if you don’t get your boyfriend to shut up I will kill him.” Himchan snarled, crossing his arms as he plopped him down on his chair.

“I would if I could.” Youngjae shook his head, a smile of disbelief painted on his lips.

“Yah, Guppie, what’s up?” Daehyun leaned against one of the fume hoods.

“It’s done, Daehyun. Everything should be done by tonight.” Daehyun’s tense shoulders relaxed at Jongup’s words.

“Good news?” Youngjae came up beside him, looking up at him with those beautiful doe eyes.

“Great news.” Daehyun flashed Youngjae an 100 watt smile before leaning down and pecking the younger.

“Not just yet, Dae…” Jongup sighed. “He should turn himself in by tonight...but I don’t know how long the FBI is gonna take to process him or make a public statement.”

“And my meeting is tomorrow…” Daehyun’s playful expression turned serious. His eyebrows furrowed and his mind running a mile per minute. He understood the gravity of the situation. If the perp didn’t make a public statement by tomorrow morning then Daehyun would already be dismissed. And like hell his father would even try to get him back as CEO once he was gone.

“Yongguk hyung will try to use his connections to speed things up, but he can only do so much.” Jongup’s voice soften, the quiet man’s voice laced with concern.

“I know…” A small sad smile was gracing Daehyun’s lip. He felt a gentle tug on his arm only to see Youngjae look up at him with worry. Daehyun tried to push a sincere smile on his face, not wanting to make the younger concerned. But it was difficult. The anxiety was eating at Daehyun. Anxiety of all his hard slipping through his fingers only to end up in Woojin’s. “Thanks, Gup. I’ll be sure to tell Yongguk thanks too.” Daehyun hung up, tucking the small device in his pocket.

“Yah, Jung. You okay? You went to happy to sad in like half a second.” Himchan raised a brow.

“I’m fine. I guess all the tiredness is finally hitting me.” Daehyun forced a chuckle.

“Hyung, is it about the perp? Did Jongup hyung and Yongguk hyung not find him?” Zelo’s eyes softened at the obviously stressed Daehyun. Thinking how his brief happiness just a second ago was ripped away from him by reality.

“No they found him. Everything is settled.” Daehyun grinned, at least tried to. He clencehd his fist tightly to calm his nerves.

“Daehyun…” Youngjae squeezed Daehyun’s arms tightly, knowing that the older was hiding something.

“It’s settled,” Daehyun gently placed his hand on top of Youngjae’s, rubbing it softly. “Everything is gonna be fine,” Daehyun placed a quick peck on Youngjae’s forehead. “I’ll see you after work okay?”
“Aww, where is our kiss on the forehead?” Himchan teased gently, attempting to break the tension that floated in the air. He knew Daehyun well enough that the boy would rather have jabs of humor than sympathetic expressions and concerned questions.

“If you really want one I could happily arran-”

“Nope,” Youngjae blocked Daehyun’s lips with his hands. “These are now property of Yoo Youngjae. If you would like to rent them there is a fee.” Youngjae smiled up at Daehyun.

“So now my lips are your property chipmunk?” Daehyun raised a playful brow. “Just my lips?”

“All of you,” Youngjae smiled and pecking the elder on the lips. “Don’t…” Youngjae chewed his bottom lip, not wanting to poke further into Daehyun’s concerns if he didn’t wish to share at the moment. “Don’t worry too much, okay?”

“I won’t,” Daehyun chuckled, reluctantly stepping away from his chipmunk as he headed out of the lab. “And the rest of ya’ll better be sure not to say something incriminating when the FBI pop up.” He grinned and gave a lazy wave before exiting.

“Well ,” Zelo playfully groaned. “I better just keep my mouth shut then.” The three boys chuckled, knowing full well that the only crime Zelo had committed was being to cute and cheeky for his own good.

Daehyun let out his 20th sigh in the past five minutes. A frown and grimace seemed to be plastered on his face as he clicked through his powerpoint slides for tomorrow's meeting. The wrinkles between his brows growing at an alarming rate. He wasn’t even feeling hungry or honry. Him of all people. All he felt was frustrated and annoyed. Fearful and impatient. He just wanted the problem to go away. He had the solution. It was just a matter of time. And he hated that. He hated that his fate was now held by some obscure power that he couldn’t control. It made him anxious, paranoid even. But he couldn’t show it. He wasn’t allowed to show it.

“Hey, if you keep frowning your face is going to glued like that…” Youngjae gently smiled as he ran his fingers through Daehyun’s hair with the elder used his lap as a pillow. Even though Daehyun would not say a word about his worries, Youngjae could feel it exude off him. The tension that every fiber of Daehyun’s muscles held, the quick erratic beating of his heart, the obvious furrow in Daehyun’s brows. Youngjae could feel them all.

“I would still be handsome though, right?” Daehyun grinned, a hint of sorrow still painted on his expression. Youngjae scoffed and leaned down, placing a chaste kiss on Daehyun’s lips.

“Of course.” Youngjae grinned. Daehyun quirked a brow and sat up, positioning himself comfortably on his white leather couch.

“Why are being so nice to me?” Daehyun eyed the younger suspiciously.

“You're my boyfriend. Aren’t I supposed to be nice to you?” Youngjae chuckled, resting his head on Daehyun’s shoulder. “Plus you're having a tough time. I don’t need to add onto that with my sass.”

Daehyun chuckled, gently turning his Youngjae so he could place a kiss on Youngjae’s button nose. “Thanks chipmunk,” He gave the younger an eskimo kiss. “But I love your sass. It’s like my daily dose of medicine.”

“Good cause you’re gonna keep having this medicine for the rest of your life.” Youngjae nuzzled into Daehyun’s neck.

“Just how I like it,” Daehyun smiled, leaning to rest his head against the younger’s. He didn’t know when the younger had become his place of solace. But the little chipmunk managed to weasel his way into Daehyun’s heart and made the elder feel as if everything was going to be okay even though there was no certainty that it was. “How was your interview with the FBI?”

“Meh,” Youngjae shrugged. “Not very exciting. Same basic questions that the reporters asked you, but you know scarier and more intimidating.”

“Ha! Who could intimidate you?” Daehyun chuckled, imagining his little chipmunk sassing the agents every second he had the chance.

“Bill Nye the Science Guy. That man is a science legend. Like I would piss my pants if I ever met him in person.” Youngjae chuckled “So now that you’ve asked me a question, are you going to tell me what made you sigh from work to home? Or should I guess?” Youngjae raised a brow.

“The meeting is getting me…” Daehyun was about to let out another sigh, but Youngjae quickly covered his mouth.

“Ah-ah, no more sighing,” Youngjae eyed Daehyun, the elder cocking a brow. “Got it?” Youngjae pouted a bit. The younger looked so cute right now that Daehyun would do anything for the younger. Jump off a plane? Sure. Buy him a diamond ring the size of a walnut? He’ll call the jewelry immediately. Eat gourmet food at the top of the eiffel tower? The private jet will be here in two seconds.

Daehyun gently kissed the palm of Youngjae’s hand, telling the other that he understood. The younger smiling and releasing Daehyun. “Everything should be settled...I hope they’re settled.”

“Are you scared?” Youngjae’s voice was gentle, soothing. He knew that Daehyun hated showing his weakness. Hated to feel like a frightened child. He knew that because he was the same.

Daehyun stayed silent, staring at his coffee table intensely as if it had offended him somehow. “I...I am…” Daehyun clenched his fist tightly. “If that bastard doesn’t admit publically that he forged your signature before the meeting then everything will be gone. Everything that I worked for. Everything I gave my life to will shatter right before my eyes.”

“Things will be okay,” Youngjae cupped Daehyun’s cheeks, pulling him close so that their foreheads were touching. “You have Jongup, Himchan, Yongguk, Zelo, all your friends. All of them having your back.”

“I also have you.” Daehyun grinned, his eyes softening as his worry melted away.

“You always have me. It’s implied,” Youngjae grinned, wrapping his arms around Daehyun’s neck. “Now come on, go to bed. You need to rest up for tomorrow.”

“You mean, we need rest.” Daehyun pulled the younger close, snuggling into Youngjae’s warmth.

“I still need to go back my apartment before I can get any rest.” Youngjae grinned, petting Daehyun’s head.

“No you don’t,” Daehyun looked up and kissed Youngjae’s lips. “Stay here,” He kissed Youngjae again. “With me,” He kissed him again. “Please? I’m tired of hugging my chipmunk plush. I want the real thing.” Daehyun had a puppy pout on his lips.

“That’s not playing fair…” Youngjae pouted as well. His cheeks warmed pink.

“Who said I played fair?” Daehyun flashed a smug grin.

“Makes sense based on the way you play video games you need every advantage you can get.” Youngjae chuckled.

“I’ll get my revenge next time…” Daehyun playfully glared, biting Youngjae’s cheek.

“Daehyun stop pacing….” Jongup felt dizzy watching the elder frantically travel up and down his office.

“I either have to pace or f**k. So are you going to offer me your hole to f**k cause Youngjae is in the lab right now.” Daehyun growled at Jongup. The guard dog put his hands up in surrender, understanding that if he continued to badger the elder, Daehyun may really try to f**k him.

Jongup chewed his bottom lip, glancing at the clock and watching the seconds tick away. He looked down at his phone to see any alerts of the news. Nothing. Now Jongup’s heart was beating at an erratic rate. The bastard should have confessed by now. His confession should have been scattered across the news. Daehyun should have been cleared by now. Jongup wanted to call up his old ‘friends’ to find out where the bastard was and made sure he held up his end of the deal. That or his ‘friends’ could have some bloody fun with the bastard.

“It’s going to be alright...there’s still time…” Jongup glanced at the clock again, seeing that time slip away. “Do you want to see Youngjae for a bit?” The younger knowing full well that Youngjae was Daehyun’s tranquilizer. If the Youngjae couldn’t tame Daehyun (and he couldn’t) then no one could.

“No, he’s busy and I don’t want to bother him.” Daehyun glared at nothing, shoving his hands into his pocket. Jongup bit his tongue to stop the smart quip about Daehyun being uncharacteristically considerate.

“The confession will be on soon. We just need to be a bit more-”

“Mr. Jung?” One of the assistant secretary peeked her head in. Her expression somewhat frightful at seeing the two very serious men. “Everyone has convened in the conference room.”

“F**k.”
