“Let me get you a drink.” Joe patted you on the shoulder as he walked by and you thought about shouting a thank you his way before realizing that he wouldn’t hear you anyway and you could as well say nothing, so that was what you did. Your eyes followed his back while he disappeared in the ocean of people that surrounded you and you wondered how he was going to be able to find his way back to you or how he was going to be able to carry all of those drinks by himself. But he was a big guy, you were sure he could handle it by himself. Besides, he was probably used to evenings like this, he probably did this all the time. You were sure that this club was his second home, he even moved as if he knew this place like the inside of his pocket. So far you thought it was lame and you tried not to pull a face when the loud but annoying music resounded in your ears. You could feel it waver deep in your bones as you looked at Amber who had been able to catch the eye of a guy as soon as she had stepped inside of the club. Gena was glued against Garth’s side and you had no idea if she was doing that to annoy Amber or in order to keep him away from her. Though at this moment Amber didn’t seem to give a damn about seeing the two of them together as she stuck her tongue down someone else’s throat. From where you were standing it looked absolutely disgusting and you wondered how it was possible that they were smothering each other. In order not to get too much attention from the guys who wandered around here you had matched yourself with the boys as soon as you had walked in, using them as your wing men to keep others away from you.

You weren’t looking for someone who wanted to be in your company tonight and even though you had seen some guys giving you some longing looks while passing you by, you had ignored them all. They looked at you the same way as if they would look at a new expensive sport car, good for an adrenaline rush that only lasted for a short while; Of course you knew that you couldn’t relay on the protection of Joe for too long, it wouldn’t take long before he would find his own girl which he would spend his evening with. Joe was always handsome, but in what he was wearing tonight he looked like something you could eat and with which you could your fingers off when you were done. There was no way he was going to turn down the female attention he was getting, if he saw his chance to score than he would grab it with both hands. While your eyes scanned around the room they locked with a pair that still made your heart beat faster while the feeling of bile collected at the back of your throat. You tried to send Garth a look that told him exactly what you thought, which was that he was a bastard and that he had to stay as far away from you as possible, but he only smiled at you as he threw his arm around Gena’s shoulder, who'd didn’t seem to have a clue that he wasn’t even listening to the story she was telling him. If this whole evening wasn’t bad enough already, he of course had to be here to make all of it even worse.

“Seems like he’s not planning to give up just yet.” Baekhyun’s voice sounded inside of your ear, trying to reach above the loud music and you quickly turned your head to look at him. You could only hope that Garth hadn’t asked Gena about your relationship with the other man, because then by now he would know that you had lied about your relationship with him and that you had made it all up. “Well he better won’t plan coming near me, unless he wants my next drink all over himself.” You grumbled and felt the slightest gasp of air on your skin which told you that he was laughing. Seriously, you weren’t in for any more drama tonight. The sooner the night would be over the better, so that you could all go home and go to bed. “Here you go beautiful, let’s see if this can warm your insides.” Joe joked on the other side of you as he held your drink in front of your face. He had just enough time to back away before you would have nudged your elbows in his side. You had told him that you didn’t like him giving you that nickname, but he wouldn’t stop, and each time it kind of made your face flush. Joe had done a pretty good job in order to get closer to you these past few weeks and he had definitely made some progress. You watched him as he patted Baekhyun on the shoulder in a friendly matter and offered him a drink as well. It had become obvious before that he was the only one who wasn’t trying to avoid you two because you were always so moody, instead he was actually trying to be nice.
