Sorry, but the suitcase...

Sorry, Wrong Person

It's been a while but I'm back! Honestly, thank you so much for everyone who's supporting me here, I luv you guys so much~

"I love you, Chanyeol."

The words left his mouth before he could even take them back, and the smaller didn't know if he regretted it or not.

It was, after all, only the truth.

Baekhyun turned his head away in shame when Chanyeol gave him a surprised look.

From the beginning, those words were never supposed to come out of Baekhyun's mouth—but now there he was, saying the things Baekgyu didn't want him to say the most.

Although his mind was telling him that he regretted it, he couldn't help but feel like the words felt... Right.

The syllables had flowed out of him like chocolate in a molten lava cake, and the flavour it left after tasted of dark chocolate, bitter yet delightful. It felt like he was meant to say those words—with the exact same name at the ending.

"Baek, look at me," Chanyeol ordered and Baekhyun turned over, his mouth in a straight line. "I love you too, you know that, don't you?" Chanyeol questioned, and Baekhyun couldn't even find it in himself to nod. "I love you, Baekgyu," he finished with an assured tone.

Baekhyun held back the urge to sigh and he turned away, closing his eyes and feigning tiredness.

"I'll go check with the doctors if there's anything more that we can do." Chanyeol smiled as he squeezed Baekhyun's hand.

Chanyeol left the room with a smile on his face thinking about Baekhyun's confession. It had been a while since he'd heard those words come out of Baekgyu's mouth, and to say it made him ecstatic was an understatement.

He walked to the doctor's office and knocked on the door, entering once he had heard the words of: come in.

"Hey," he greeted with an awkward but gentle smile, "I just had some questions about Baek that had the allergy to nuts?" Chanyeol asked and the lady smiled at him.

"Ah, right, Byun Baekhyun, right?" She questioned with a tilt of her head and instead of focusing on the hair that fell in her elderly face like Chanyeol would usually have, he raised an eyebrow instead.

"Byun Baekhyun?" He repeated, remembering the name from somewhere.

"Yup. 18, turning 19 in May, right?"

Chanyeol let out a good-hearted laugh, shaking his head. "I think you meant Byun Baekgyu," he corrected, trying to dig up where he heard the name before.

It clicked in his head when he remembered what Yoora had told him four months ago, about if he knew of a 'Baekhyun' or not.

Why is that name always resurfacing? Does everyone know something I don't?

The woman before him laughed and nodded. "Sorry, yeah, I meant Baekhyun. Sometimes it's just hard to differentiate."

Chanyeol nodded too, thinking that she meant it was hard to differentiate between patients and not people with the same birthdate, looks, and blood.

After she explained some more about allergies to nuts, Chanyeol left the office, walking back to the room where his boyfriend was staying.

Although he was walking to where Baekgyu was supposedly staying, he couldn't help but think about that one name that's followed him around for a while now.

Byun Baekhyun, huh, he thought to himself absent-mindedly as he opens the door to the room, finding his lover smiling at him with a sweet curve of his lips.

"Okay, we can go now, Baekhyun." Chanyeol gave him a smile of his own and the smaller's smile completely slipped off of his face.

Baekhyun's face paled after hearing the name Chanyeol had just said and his hands clutched onto the white bedsheets, his heart beat racing.

He couldn't believe his ears.

Had he heard Chanyeol right?

"W—What?" Baekhyun questioned softly, his voice on the edge of breaking.

There was no way that he had just said Baekhyun. That was completely outrageous. If things were going according to plan, Chanyeol should've had no connection to that name.

Chanyeol looked at him like he had done nothing wrong, small amounts of confusion in his own eyes. "What?"

"D—Did you just..." Baekhyun trailed off, watching how the confusion just grew on Chanyeol's face. "Nevermind," he mumbled and slipped out of the covers, finding his shoes and putting them on with effort.

It was a mistake, he repeated to himself. Or maybe I just heard wrong. Either way, it's not hard to mix up 'gyu' and 'hyun' right?

Okay, not really.

Even if all the odds were against him, Baekhyun kept believing that Chanyeol had not said that name and he was just hallucinating.

Chanyeol grabbed Baekhyun's hand and together they left the hospital, a silence growing in between them that Baekhyun found ten times more unnerving than usual. He was still battling with himself whether or not Chanyeol had said his name or not, and it was driving him crazy... As usual when anything involved Chanyeol.

"Do you have school tomorrow Baekhyun?" Chanyeol asked and Baekhyun's heart nearly stopped for what seemed like the fourth time that day.

There it is again...

My name.

Baekhyun's heart seemed as if it was beating in his ears, the sound too loud to be passed as ordinary. The sounds of spring were slowly ebbing away as Baekhyun kept his gaze locked onto Chanyeol's, his eyes showing an emotion that the taller had seen far too many times.

It was like Baekhyun was begging for something, but at the same time, begging for it not to happen.

That look had always made Chanyeol question what was going on in the smaller's mind because he wanted to solve it, no matter what.

Even if Baekhyun told Chanyeol that he wanted every single planet in the palm of his hands, Chanyeol would try his hardest to do it.

Baekhyun gulped as he watched Chanyeol's expression turn into one of longing and a little sadness. He hated that look on Chanyeol's face, but it had surfaced so many times that Baekhyun couldn't imagine a month without seeing it.

It hurt him, yes, but it was for Chanyeol. This was all for Chanyeol.

"Baekhyun?" Chanyeol questioned and Baekhyun's insides warmed as he heard his name a third time.

It was like a miracle was being set into place because never had he imagined that Chanyeol's voice saying his name would cause such a feeling inside of him.

It was like the storm was finally slowing down and the waves stopped splashing so loud, the atmosphere around him calming down.

He knew he should be asking questions as to why Chanyeol was saying his name, or even knew his name, but he couldn't help but bask in the feeling of Chanyeol staring at him that way after saying his name.

It made him ache for the feeling of waking up to Chanyeol saying his name or falling asleep after hearing him say: I love you Baekhyun.

Yeah, Baekhyun had turned into a pathetic person who could only wish for a reality that would never be true; a dream that he dreamt of every night.

It was the worst that he couldn't even do anything to make the dream a reality—he was hopeless in solving his own problems... And that was probably the lowest that any human could be at.

He was someone who could only sit by and watch things unfold without doing anything and although it pained him to do so, he didn't have a choice.

Maybe one day he'd be able to live a dream, but he knew that it would never be this dream.

"Baekgyu," Baekhyun blurted out, "you mean Baekgyu," he corrected. Even if Baekhyun wanted Chanyeol to say it, he couldn't just allow him to... It was against the rules.

The giant's face suddenly flushed, and Baekhyun felt himself get ten times more confused.

"S—Sorry, that was a total mistake I..." He face-palmed himself and sighed.

I know, Baekhyun thought, feeling dejected. You'd never say my name like that.

"I totally didn't mean to call you that. I've just been hearing the name so much that it just kind of came out..."

"Heard the name? From where?" Baekhyun asked carefully.

Chanyeol was getting multiple steps closer to figuring out, and if Baekhyun didn't do something he'd be in trouble—along with Baekgyu.

"I don't know, it's not technically everywhere... It just appears at the weirdest... times..." Chanyeol suddenly had an inquisitive look on his face and Baekhyun almost cried in frustration.

"What times?" The smaller pushed, suddenly remembering about Jongin.

If this is his doing, I'll have to castrate him myself, he thought as he bit his lip, waiting for Chanyeol's answer.

"It already seemed really familiar, but first it was Yoora and then it was the doctor..." Chanyeol explained, his eyebrows furrowed.

Baekhyun decided to bring the subject of the conversation somewhere else, taking them over to the bus stop and sitting down. If he let Chanyeol continue talking about his name, the giant would surely remember something and Baekhyun's whole façade would be over.

"I'm tired," Baekhyun said, not technically lying. "All the events from today made me exhausted..."

He leaned against Chanyeol and closed his eyes, listening to Chanyeol's steady breathing.

Does Yoora know? He wondered as he tried to calm himself.

His mind wandered back to when Chanyeol had said his name and even though he tried to stop his feelings, they came at him like Jongdae would for watermelon.

He's always read about it in books: about how the main character's heart thumped when their love interest said their name and about how it seemed like fireworks were exploding in the background...

Baekhyun never really experienced any of that because of his previously nerdy self in high school and his sudden role-playing as Baekgyu in University. Now that it's happened for the first time, Baekhyun really—really wanted it to happen again.

"What's happened to me," Baekhyun sighed out.

"Hm?" Chanyeol questioned and Baekhyun just shook his head lightly. After a moment, Chanyeol spoke up again. "You know... Sorry for ruining our date with the allergy problem. If I had never chosen that kind, this would have never happened."

For your info, I was the one that kissed you, Baekhyun stated in his mind but didn't say aloud. "It's alright, none of us knew that I was allergic to nuts. Really, it was a surprise for me too," he lied, but honestly it was getting normal to lie about every single thing.

The bus came shortly later, and after a long ride they finally arrived back at their dorms. Baekhyun jumped into the shower like his life depended on it, not taking too long in consideration for Chanyeol too.

Once he got out though, he found the giant out cold on his bed, his breathing clearly showing that he was asleep.

Baekhyun smiled to himself and lightly laughed, walking over to where Chanyeol was laying on his front.

The smaller threw a blanket over the spread out figure and turned off the lights, making his way to his bed on the other side of the room.

After he settled down, he heard Chanyeol muttering something in his sleep, and he soon made out the words.

"Baekhyun..."

Baekhyun threw the blanket over his own head and buried himself in the covers, his face going red. He never expected to be having those feelings when someone said his name, and to say that he didn't like the feeling would be lying.

A few more muffled words, and Baekhyun heard Chanyeol say a sentence.

"Who are you?

~

The next morning, Baekhyun woke up and was instantly nervous.

He didn't know why until he remembered what he heard Chanyeol saying yesterday, and about what Jongin had told him.

He slowly got out of bed and tiptoed to the washroom, trying to make little noise.

Just as he was in front of the door, it swung open and someone emerged from inside.

Baekhyun let out a half-scream and tripped backward, almost falling before strong arms grabbed him and steadied him (which also led up to him smashing his face against a very chest but that detail wasn't really necessary).

Chanyeol smelt of his slightly fruity soap and that natural Chanyeol smell and Baekhyun's face went impossible crimson, his feet planted to the ground as he turned into a ripe cherry.

The laugh that came out of Chanyeol was heavenly and his hand went up to ruffle Baekhyun's hair, messing up his already messy bed hair.

"Getting scared so early in the morning... What a Baek-like thing to do," he commented as he finally let go of Baekhyun, maneuvering around him with only a towel around his waist. Chanyeol abruptly stopped and he furrowed his eyebrows.

His mind was telling him that it wasn't a Baekgyu-like thing to do, and he knew it was right because Baekgyu rarely ever got scared.

...But maybe it was just one of the things Chanyeol had grown to love about the smaller now that he had come back.

All the details mattered like he had said before... From how Baekhyun would get scared to the way his eyes lit up at any sweets that he set eyes on.

Now that he had been around this type of Baekgyu, he suddenly realized that his past with Baekgyu was actually pretty cold compared to this

Before, when he woke up, he didn't have that feeling in his heart when he saw his boyfriend all bunched up under the covers, his face sticking out like the cute puppy he was. When he teased his boyfriend, he never cooed at how the smaller would scrunch up his nose but eventually smile after, lighting up the whole place with his imperfect but perfect rectangle smile. And he had never, ever seen Baekgyu look at him with as much love as he had in the past half-year.

Chanyeol smiled to himself, thinking about one sentence: I love him so much

Baekhyun cleared his throat after the awkward bump with Chanyeol and he went inside the washroom, ignoring the smell that he would consider one of his favourites... Yes, it was Chanyeol's shampoo.

Would it be weird to buy myself a bottle and bring it with myself to sniff whenever I want? Baekhyun thought as he put toothpaste on his toothbrush. Yes. Yes it would, Byun Baekhyun. Get yourself together.

He stared at his reflection in the mirror and sighed, turning away to brush his teeth and find some clothes.

He took a step out to find Chanyeol changing and immediately did a U-turn, going back inside the washroom in front of the mirror.

God, why does he have to live with me...

Baekhyun shook his head at his thoughts and he stopped, looking at his reflection again.

He thought about how weird it would be not to sleep with Chanyeol on the other side of the room—or sometimes even beside him—and Baekhyun figured it would be super lonely without Chanyeol.

The thought that he would have to disappear from Chanyeol's life in 6 months haunted his mind and Baekhyun's mood dampened. He knew he'd miss Chanyeol's dumb jokes and his bright smile—and most of all, his warmth that he would somehow send even through a text miles away.

He saw his reflection tearing up and he looked down at the sink, not wanting to see himself in that state.

The two finished getting ready for the morning without any more super-close encounters—unless you counted the kiss that Chanyeol planted onto Baekhyun's forehead—and they were finally ready to head off to classes.

"I'll see you later," Baekhyun said goodbye as he pulled Chanyeol down to kiss him and he remembered some of the first days he had spent with Chanyeol, causing a laugh to bubble out of his throat.

He recalled when he was all nervous and was stumbling whenever Chanyeol wanted to kiss him, and now look at him.

Baekhyun couldn't decide if it was a good thing or not, like the majority of the things that's been happening lately.

When Baekhyun went inside his class, Chanyeol looked at him until the door closed, a soft smile on his face.

It was weird, Chanyeol felt like Baekgyu was getting closer, but getting farther away at the same time.

He couldn't explain it—like most of the things that had been happening with his boyfriend.

He knew that Baekgyu was getting comfortable with him, cuddling with him and kissing him at random times too... But sometimes Chanyeol would just see that look  in his eyes and it seemed like he got back to square one again. It was like the smaller was pushing him away and pulling him back in all at the same time.

The smile slowly disappeared on Chanyeol's face, and the name on his mind begged to be noticed. He walked to his classes with a serious look on his face, causing people to look at him weirdly since he was usually all smiles and jokes.

Someone bumped into him and they stumbled, falling onto the ground.

Chanyeol snapped out of it and quickly apologized, helping the person up from the ground and picking up the suitcase that they had dropped.

"I'm so sorry," Chanyeol apologized and the girl shook her head.

"It's alright, it happens... Do I know you? You seem familiar... My name's Park Sandara, how about you?" She questioned and Chanyeol stared at her questioningly.

"Park Chanyeol..." He trailed off and she shrugged.

"Never heard of the name. Anyways, I got to go, see you sometime."

"Oh right, here, your suitcase," Chanyeol smiled and handed her her suitcase, but something on it caught his attention, though.

His smile was completely wiped off of his face as the alarms went off inside of his mind.

Something was definitely wrong. All the signs were now pointing and the problem was right in front of him. He couldn't see it yet, but he knew it was there.

This was a 50 piece puzzle, and there was only one piece missing.

The girl smiled and walked away with her suitcase rolling behind her, but Chanyeol didn't have it in him to care because something important had just come back to him...

He couldn't believe he had forgotten what he had seen.

How was he such an idiot?

Chanyeol realized that he had heard of the name Baekhyun before.

It's not from a drama or TV show...

He now remembered it clearly; the first day he entered his dorm and saw Baekgyu's stuff in the corner...

The name tag on his suitcase...

It said:

This suitcase belongs to:

Byun Baekhyun.

WHOOOOOPS

Hahaha. Got u good huh, you can't wait for the next update can u *wink wink nudge nudge* okay I'll stop.

Don't worry, Dara doesn't play an important role in this fic (other than the fact that her suitcase jogged Chanyeol's memory but like, whatever.) She's not some 'arranged fiance' or a 'girlfriend from the past'...

But guys! It's Chanyeol's birthday omgomgomgomgomgomg! That baby is turning one year older, I love him so so so so so much.

I wish that he has an amazing year, and cherishes the ones that come because life is really short and it goes even faster when you're with people that you love. I'm praying that nothing terrible happens to Chanyeol, and that all his dreams will come true without any injuries or hardships.

I'm really happy this week because I made it into the basketball team at my school~ I struggled so much BUT I MADE IT! And guess what? I might double update today if I have the time to.

Remember, I luv you guys, HWAITING!

Chapter 24: I read all of them straight in one day. Honestly, this story has the right portion of angst that I really want to read. I like how you write them with no much sugar and good timing conflict. Although I didn't see that end coming, but still heart wrecking. I enjoy reading this, thank you
