Reader's POV

It's been 2 weeks since Jiyoon was rescued from being sent to Canada. The rest of Bangtan are still being held in jail for breaking and entering Minseo's house and Jungkook has been trying nonstop to get them out. Jiyoon used these 2 weeks to recover her energy and strength. Jiyoon gets out of bed to brush her teeth and get ready for the day. Jungkook can be heard in the living room, talking to someone on the phone loudly.

Jiyoon heads downstairs and goes to the kitchen. Today is her first time going back to her normal routine after resting. She heats up the rice and starts making some eggs.

"Next week? .... Okay, thanks. I'll let her know," Jungkook hangs up his phone call. He joins her in the kitchen and gives her a sweet peck on the cheek.

"Good morning baby! Are you feeling better?" He gives her a back hug while she cracks some eggs into the hot fry pan. 

"Much better! I feel normal again. It feels nice to be able to cook again," she laughs.

"So I just got off the phone with our company's attorney. He said that the trial will start in 3 days and since you're the main witness to this whole thing, you'll have to testify."

"Alright, I can't wait for all of this to end. I'm so tired of all this ," Jiyoon sighs. She scoops the over easy eggs over the rice and sprinkles some salt and pepper on them before bringing them to the dinner table.

"I know babe, but once all this is over, we can finally be together without any more trouble!"

The couple sits down and enjoy their breakfast.

--- At the Courthouse ---

"Okay Mr. Jeon, I convinced the judge to let all of your friends' cases be judged right after the trials for your ex-mother-in-law and ex-wife since the cases are all related," the Jeon Corporations attorney informed Jungkook. 

"Thanks a lot for all this help! Let's go take our seats for the trial," Jungkook tells the attorney and Jiyoon.

Jiyoon and Jungkook take a seat in the front row while their attorney takes a seat at his desk in the courtroom. The door opens and two officers walk in. They were escorting Minseo and Eunseo to their seats in the court. The mother and daughter duo see Jiyoon sitting at the front and they rush over to her while the officers rush after them.

"Jiyoon please! I'm so sorry for everything I did to you! I'm a bad sister!"

"Sweetheart, please forgive us! After all, I'm your mother, she's your sister. We're all still family!"

Hearing this, Jiyoon abruptly stands up from her seat and Jungkook quickly stands up too, shielding her from Minseo and Eunseo. Jungkook's face is red and his veins are popping out of his skin. 

"How dare you say this to her after everything you've done?!" Jungkook yells at Minseo. Jiyoon looks at Jungkook and interlocks her hand with his to calm him down.

"It's okay, Jungkook. I can handle them now," she reassures him. She turns back towards her step-family with sadness and anger in her eyes.

"We're family huh? If we're family, why did you treat me like a slave? Why did you constantly abuse me and cut me out of everything? You don't try to kill your family members to get rid of them! If we're family, maybe you two should have thought about that before doing all this ."

Jiyoon stares at them one last time before sitting back down. Minseo's face turns sour and the officer gets a hold of her again. Eunseo just looks over at Jiyoon and Jungkook apologetically before the other officer takes her to their seats.

After a while, the judge walks in and everyone stands up, then sits as instructed by the judge.

"Ms. Kim Minseo, what is your plea?" 

"Not guilty."

"Ms. Eunseo, I see that you have two last names: Kim and Jeon from a recent marriage. I see you just had a divorce. Do you go by Kim or Jeon?"

"Kim."

"Okay Kim Eunseo, what is your plea?"

"...guilty"

Jungkook and Jiyoon look up, shocked at what Eunseo just said.

Opening statements from both sides take place and Jiyoon is called up to testify.

Jungkook and Jiyoon's attorney makes his way to the witness stand.

"Ms. Park, can you please describe us what the defendants did to you?"

"They forced me to work like I was their slave. I did not get any of the money from my father that was intended for me. They took it all. They constantly abused me; physically, verbally, and mentally..."

Jiyoon continued to tell the judge all the awful things that were done to her. The jury looking more and more disgusted by the Kims' actions as more details came out.

Eunseo gets called up on the stand since she pleaded guilty. "I went to my mother's house one day to get some stuff. I heard screaming and I ran towards it. I saw my mother stabbing Jiyoon with a knife. I freaked out and ran in between my mother and Jiyoon. I wanted Jiyoon to be out of my life, but not like this. I just wanted her away from the country or something. I didn't want anyone to die so that's why I shielded her." Eunseo started crying and shaking as she recalls the memories of her mother stabbing a bloody Jiyoon.

The trial continued on. After hearing from both sides, the jury is sent to decide on the verdicts. After 30 minutes, they come back into the courtroom. The leader of the jury stand up and face the judge.

"We, the jury, find Kim Minseo guilty of kidnapping, child abuse, stalking, assualt, and attempted murder with a weapon. For Kim Eunseo, we find her guilty of aggravated assault." The judge nods in agreement with the jury.

"Ms. Kim Minseo, you are sentenced to life in prison for the atrocious crimes you committed against your step-daughter, Park Jiyoon. In addition, Ms. Kim Minseo must pay back all the money she took from Ms. Park's father's funds for his daughter and an extra $100,000 for the suffering brought onto her by Ms. Kim Minseo's selfish actions. Ms. Kim Eunseo, you are sentenced to 5 years for aggravated assault but I am lowering that to 2 since you pleaded guilty and confessed."

Minseo falls to the floor and screeches. Eunseo dashes up to the judge and thanks her endlessly for the shortened sentence. Ignoring both of them, the judge hits the gavel.

"Court is dismissed. Officers, please take both defendants to their cells where they will serve their respective sentences. Please prepare for the next trial for the 6 individuals accused of breaking and entering. There will be a 10 minute break for transition." The judge leaves while everyone prepares for the next case.

Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung all peacefully file into the courtroom and take their seats. The judge comes back 10 minutes later and the trial starts.

"Okay, since there are so many of you, do you all have the same plea or are there individual pleas?"

"We all plea guilty, your honor," Namjoon speaks up. Jiyoon looks at Jungkook, concerned what's going to happen to them for helping her out. Jungkook pats her hand reassuringly.

"Mr. Jeon Jungkook, please come up to testify." Jungkook walks to the stand and takes his oath.

"I also had a part in planning this. We found out that Jiyoon was kidnapped and held in her step-mother's house. We planned how to break in and rescure Jiyoon. We understand we broke the law but we did it to save Jiyoon."

"Ms. Park Jiyoon, please come up to testify." 

"I was kidnapped from Jungkook's house while he was away. I was locked up for quite a while. I was scared, lonely, hungry, and weak from Minseo's abuse. Later on, I heard sounds and they were Jungkook and his friends coming to rescue me."

Jiyoon gets out of the witness stand and joins Jungkook back in the first row. Their attorney stands in front of the judge, ready to give his final statement.

"Your honor, as you can see, these 6 men committed this crime to save Ms. Park from any further harm. Please consider this in your sentencing. We ask that you give these 6 the minimum punishments."

"I can see why you all did this, but you could have also called the police. Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, and Kim Taehyung are all guilty for breaking and entering. You all must pay a fine of $1,500 each to Ms. Kim Minseo for the damages to her home and for the injuries to her security guards."

Everyone sighs in relief and thanks the judge for understanding the situation and giving them light sentences. Jungkook stands up and heads over to the judge.

"Your honor, since this is all because of me, I would like to pay off all the fines for my 6 friends."

"Very well, Mr. Jeon. You can pay at the clerk on the first floor and your friends are free to go."

He turns to everyone else and says, "wait for me in the parking lot. I brought the van to take all of us home today. I'll come out after I pay for the fines."

"Jungkook, you don't have to pay for us. We all agreed to do this," Yoongi chimes in.

"No no no! I'm the reason you're in this mess. As I promised, I'm fixing everything."

"Woooow we really do have a great maknae in our group!" Jimin pulls Jungkook in for a big hug.

The 6 guys and Jiyoon make their way to the parking lot while Jungkook heads to the first floor.

"Hello sir, how can I help you today?" The clerk looks up from her desk.

"I need to pay for the fines for case #1396."

The clerk types in her computer and pulls up the files for the case.

"Okay, that will be $9,000. Would you like to set up a payment plan?"

"Nah, I'll just write you a check right now." Jungkook pulls out his checkbook from the jacket of his suit and writes the check for $9,000. The clerk takes the check and prints a receipt for Jungkook.

"Thank you Mr. Jeon, have a great day!"

--- The Next Day ---

Jiyoon heads down to the living room to find Jungkook and his mother sitting on the couch.

"Hi Mrs. Jeon, what brings you here?" Jiyoon asks nervously. She knows that Mrs. Jeon did not get a very great impression of her at first. Mrs. Jeon jumps out from the couch and sprints to Jiyoon. She grabs onto Jiyoon's hands.

"Oh sweetheart, I am so sorry about everything that has happened to you. I shouldn't have judged you for being a servant! It's my fault that all this happened. If I didn't go alone with Minseo's plans of having Eunseo marry Jungkook, this wouldn't have happened." She pulls Jiyoon into a warm hug and starts crying.

"It's okay. I don't blame you Mrs. Jeon. You had no idea how big of a mess it was."

Mrs. Jeon pulls away from the hug and urges Jungkook to come over to them.

"Jungkook I should have let you marry Jiyoon from the beginning. I'm so sorry!"

"Mom, it's okay, really." Jungkook pats her on the back.

"Well, I have to go soon. I'll see you two for wedding planning!" Mrs. Jeon hurries out of the house with a wide grin on her tear streaked face.

"Wedding?!" Jiyoon looks at Jungkook with wide eyes. He panics for a second. 

"Don't worry about what she just said! Let's go out for lunch?"

"Oh... yea sure. I'll go get my purse."

--- 1 Week Later ---

Jungkook finishes checking his emails and rushes down stairs. He sneaks up behind Jiyoon who is watching TV on the couch.

"Hey babe!"

"AHHH! Don't do that Jungkook!" She playfully smacks him.

"Let's go play mini golf! I rented a course for us tonight."

"Really?! Okay, I'll go get dressed!"

"I bought a cute dress for you that won't get in your way of golfing. It's on our bed."

Jiyoon smiles and kisses Jungkook before heading upstairs to get changed.

--- At the Mini Golf Course ---

"Alright, so there's 18 holes. You wanna play the evens and I'll do the odds?" Jungkook asks Jiyoon.

"Sure, let's go! I'm gonna get all hole-in-ones!" Jiyoon races Jungkook out of the car to the first hole. They both keep playing throughout the holes and finally arrive at the 18th hole.

"Holy ! This is so beautiful!" Jiyoon yells. The 18th hole was a beautiful castle guarded by a small gate.

"Look! There's a sign that says 'Gate Opens When Ball Hits Hole.' You do it babe, since it is an even number," Jungkook winks at her. She giggles and positions her golf club behind the golf ball. She aims, swings, and makes

"A HOLE IN ONE! OMG I DID IT JUNGKOOK! A HOLE IN ONE!!" She jumps up and down from joy and hugs Jungkook. The gate can be heard opening, revealing a beautiful pathway of pink roses to the entrance of the castle. Jungkook offers Jiyoon his hand and she takes it.

"Let's go in that castle!" The couple walk down the fragrant path of roses and stops at the door of the castle. Jiyoon tries to open the door but it won't budge.

"It won't open!" She pouted.

"Silly, you need a key to unlock the door. The manager of the place gave it to me while we were getting our golf clubs. It's in my pocket."

Jungkook nervously reaches into his pocket and wraps his hand tightly on the small velvet box. He takes it out and Jiyoon sees it. She looks at it strangely.

"The key is kept in a velvet box?"

"Uh...yea! This place is a fancy private golf course after all! I'll open the box and you take the key to unlock the door." Jiyoon nods.

As he is about to open the box, he gets down on one knee.

"Park Jiyoon, I know this is long overdue, but I love you so much! Will you marry me?"
