Jungkook sat silently in the waiting room. 

Jimin's not telling him something. 

Something important.

Jungkook ran his hand through his hair and checked his phone. 

6:30 am. 

'Jimin...'

The doctor came out from Jimin's room and shook his head.

"Doctor? What's happening to him?" The doctor seemed confused.

"Has your friend not told you yet?" Jungkook's mind raced.

Told what?

The doctor sighed as if he was sorry for him.

"He has cancer and it has already mutated." Jungkook stood there.

"There's no...cure." His face blanked. 

"We have records of Park Jimin coming over and doing check ups, quite a few times actually." Jungkook couldn't think...at all. 

What?

He felt his heart stopped. 

Jimin...is...

"There must be a mistake doctor..." Jungkook pleaded as the doctor shook his head. 

"I'm sorry..." He then left Jungkook alone in the hallway. 

Jimin is going to...die? 

His phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket.

It was Namjoon. 

"Hello?" Jungkook answered with as much energy as he could. 

"Jungkook where are you? And Jimin?" Jungkook looked at the ground with his bewildered eyes. 

"We...were just looking at shooting stars this morning, we'll be back shortly." 

Why is he lying?

"Oh, okay then, come back quick okay? And be safe." He nodded. He then heard Taehyung in the background cried. 

"Eh? Hyung didn't tell me about shooting stars!" 

Jungkook later entered Jimin's room after permission was given. 

The sight stabbed him right in the chest. 

His cheeks were greyish colour and a hurt expression was plastered on his face. 

His hair was messy and his lips were white. 

"Jimin..." Jungkook rushed to him as Jimin fluttered his eyes open. 

"Kookie..." Jimin smiled. 

Why is he smiling?

Why?

"Jimin...why..." Jimin looked the other way. The morning sun peeked from behind the clouds, barely lighting up the room. 

"I never wanted to worry you guys." Jungkook took a step forward.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" He felt tears in his eyes. 

Why does he feel like crying?

Jimin gritted his teeth. 

"Jimin, we could've helped you with everything..." He went on. 

Jimin suddenly slammed his fist onto the hospital bed. 

Jungkook took a step back. 

"Would you do it if you were me?" Jimin suddenly yelled.

Jungkook flinched. 

Jimin never yelled at him before. 

He stayed silent. 

"Jeon Jungkook." He suddenly said. 

He said his name. 

His full name. 

For the first time. 

"I have one request." Jungkook looked at his hyung.

"Please don't tell the members." 

Jungkook balled his hand into fists. 

He didn't feel sad or sympatheic anymore, he felt angry. 

"No." 

Jimin turned his way. Fear, angry and sorrow were written on his face.

"Jungkook, this is my death wish here." 

"That sounds like a joke."

"Well, it isn't one." Jungkook sighed.

"Fine." 

The colors of Jimin's cheeks immediately came back. 

"Really? I love you~" 

"Whoa...that was a quick transition..." Jimin grinned slightly.

Jungkook rolled his eyes at Jimin and sat down.

"Whatever...but you owe me one." Jimin looked out the window. 

"Jungkook ah~" He said in a singing tone.

Jungkook looked up from his phone.

"Hm?" Jimin lingered a bit. 

"How would you feel if I left you forever?"

Oh.

He was sure Jimin knew the answer.

But.

Something hurts in his chest. 

How would he feel...?

"I..."

Before he could reply the door slammed open revealing Taehyung. Jungkook expected the whole band...but it was just him alone. 

"Tae?" Jimin looked more surprised than Taehyung. 

"Why are you so careless?" He asked and ran towards him. 

"I'm fine Tae..." 

"No you are not..." Taehyung lifted Jimin from the chin and observed every inch of his face. 

"I never wanted you to worry..."

"Well it's not working hyung." Taehyung said after letting go of his chin.  

Jungkook bit his bottom lip. 

"Taehyung." He looked up at Taehyung.

"How long has he been like this?" 

Taehyung looked like he was about to glare at Jungkook.

"Long before you even cared." 

Jungkook felt like he's been stabbed in the back.

"You guys, stop." Jimin said and took Taehyung's hand. 

"Taehyung, what about Namjoon and everyone?" He stuck his thumb up.

"All taken care of, I told them I'm getting you guys home." Jimin smiled with relief. 

"The van's outside, waiting." 

Taehyung held out a pile of neatly folded clothes and handed to Jimin. 

"Here, I brought you some clean clothes." Jimin smiled again. Jungkook has never seen his smile like this since they met, and that made him stare. 

"Jungkookie?" 

"Yeah..huh?" He snapped out of it.

What was happening to him?

Jimin got up and hoped to the cold floor of the hospital. 

"I'll be right back." 

The door slammed behind Jimin and left the two in the room alone. 

"You never cared did you?" Taehyung growled and showed his canine teeth. 

Jungkook didn't say anything.

"So now you know." 

Jungkook gulped. 

"He's not going to be with us long." 

Those words stabbed Jungkook. 

Again and again. 

He nod. 

"I know." 

He knows. 

But he's not ready. 

He'll never be ready.
